  1. Both this song and Every Man Has His Wish have always given me Lanalytical troubles. (@@TrailerParkDarling I would definitely agree that they're related) On the surface, the Chevrolet shout-out seems to relate to "Hundred Dollar Bill," which namedrops a "Jimmy" Then there's the idea of her being on the open road with some man, more than likely the criminal figure in her life. This is the basis of "Us Against the World" and related songs--living a secluded life on the run, literally or figuratively, with a boyfriend However, we can also trace it back even further to "Prom Song (Gone Wrong)" (Let's get out of this place / 'Cause you're starting to waste within this teenage wasteland), a song with clear associations to Mr. Campbell. It's this idea of craving escape but maybe not even getting it. You can imagine her fantasizing about that Lolita-style roadtrip getaway with this older man. While we're on the topic, compiling all the escapist songs end up looking like 1949 On Our Way Every Man Has His Wish Lucky Ones Prom Song (Gone Wrong) Take Me to Paris Us Against the World Ride Yayo Queen of the Gas Station Diet Mountain Dew Westbound Aviation If you ask me, this doesn't necessarily relate to one man, but rather her perspective on love as kind of sweeping her off her feet and taking her away. "You have to take me right now from this dark trailer park life now." It could even be that she is only figuratively escaping her woes by falling in love.

    Lorde

8000th post ( ) goes to the good sis Lorde, her natural beauty, stan 4 ha! /drivel @ we don't have the Ribs or the Swingin Party instrumental. I feel like we certainly won't get them for a while because supposedly they were completely absent from the one source all the instrumentals came from. Also someone help this guy out, my connection sucks rn
  3. I remembering touching on this way back on ldr.fm! Wow. Well, I tend to group On Our Way and NLMG because both are more organic instrumentally and hopeful love songs. OOW reads more as an anthem so NLMG kind of acts as the more subdued other side of the coin. The more songs that leaked caused me to separate the two in my fanmade albums, though. I ended up placing OOW with happier counterparts and keeping NLMG with sadcore songs--perhaps because it seems a lot more fragile.

Oh it was like a sanctioned cover. That's good, the origin was confusing. For E! though... Whatever it jams

HOWWWWWW FROM WHAT Shit why must it be on soundcloud, it's like impossible to rip from there nowadays
  6. Ooooh we can always bring in some Lanalysis Chevrolet mention relates to either Jimmy or Mr. Campbell. If you think about this as a Lolita style road trip (for those who haven't read, Lolita and Humbert...go on a road trip), could easily be Mr. C. This was one of the first non-BTD songs from Lana I'd ever heard and it always remind me of fiercely defending her to my friends because I played this song and they complained about how repetitive the ending is.
  7. Attending the Tropico premiere and Ultraviolence announcement I hope everyone here gets to witness her little china doll beauty in person someday. Also YES the HTD leaks, sorry.
  8. Looking forward to converting y'all to less hype songs like Oooh Baby and Break My Fall
  9. Ripping from soundcloud is beyond me nowadays Anyone have DLs for Silver and Unfair.

Perhaps I'd count leaks as well...It was a big year with True Romance and 14. Well Charli event of the year was certainly procuring 14. As much of a $25-wasted disaster as it turned out to be. I'm feeling another "You (Ha Ha Ha)" with SuperLove--great single material, hopefully better album tracks.
  11. Maybe a little for the anti-Grammy persistence but not for Taylor dw I have nothing to add to this beauty except "Lorde knows nothing about feminism, she needs to grow up." - This thread "Lorde is hideous and shouldn't speak her mind, she needs to grow up." - This thread Mostly true.

The Kate stanning Uh "Take My Hand" was my ninth favorite song of the year wbu? (that is, fave Charli song of 2013 I guess, though TMH is the only correct answer)

She tweeted that the album would be out by the time she was in the UK. We'll see though. It seems like it's happening, but then it also seemed like it was happening when Yung Rapunxel dropped...
  15. Oh? Are these the new live songs or...?
  16. The mob mentality here is not your best example of a world of diversity pffffffffffft Sloth comparisons are many things but not a breath of fresh air. Please, someone engage me in debate that isn't ridiculous or offensive. It's not about agreeing with me, but rather human decency... But thank you, let's not make me a lightning rod for Lorde critique just because she's in my set, I'm obviously excited for Lana. Whether or not the award means anything cosmically, it would definitely mean a lot to her. She's not far along enough to be beyond validation (a la Lily Allen and @@lola lel) #SwiftieProbz #Intersectionality I'll accept blame, no one misspells "fuck" at me
  17. When I saw you quoted me in this thread I thought you were about to subject me to your wise dragging but I'm very pleasantly surprised Sources, grammar, minimal emoticons. Evil for master debater. It's been #AWorldAlone for me in defense of Lorde here (cc: @@Rafael your hashtag impact)
  18. Which makes those three paragraphs further up the page really curious Wow you win~
  19. Slay me with your articulate argument Viva "About those asking what others were doing at 15 I would say I was preparing myself to don't sound like an idiot when I open my beautiful mouth in public at 17." hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  20. They're insecure If anyone's still trying a Lorde argument with me it's just funny at this point tbh Clearly I stan. Like Paradise for BPVA!
  21. Oh this happened What is with all the sidebars, I don't care whether or not you enjoyed her album OMG at you being younger than me #authority

    I Don't Wanna Go

"A way with his words" is a common phrase... + "you've got a way" as opposed to "you got a way" implies possession. You HAVE, i.e., he possesses a "way" when he does it. I could hear it in IDWG as a play on the phrase but for JFK, it just can't be anything else because of the contraction.
  24. Prob one of the domains he hoarded for himself.
