Republicans have all the power. and it shows how trump is an abject failure and has no idea about how to deal. Every day trump becomes more and more irrelevant (but then his entire life he was illegit, unfit and a laughingstock in the world. as for the shutdown, any day trump can't go to his creepy club in Florida (where only rich white guys are allowed) and golf (on his 5 foot 6 400 pound body (bullshit the claims that he is 6-3 and 239(elevator platform shoes like in Tommy?) and one foot on a scale any day he can't fly to Florida, saves the taxpayers a million dollars. republicans own it, it's 100% their fault (and eventually a deal will be hammered out) Until then, MARCH with the women today and vote like the greatest voters in the world voted for Doug Jones in Alabama. Meanwhile, most important thing today besides the women's march is figuring out which of the 20 songs was the greatest last night at the Prudential Center. (It might be Honeymoon).

@Wynwood I noticed trump in the pix he said up with Mitch and Paul Ryan, that trump is wearing platform shoes to appear taller People when they age lose height, not gain. No way he is 6-3 and no way he only is 239 (what bullshit) 329 pounds perhaps and how trump got a reputable doctor to spew such bullshit I don't know and then there is the Ambiem trumptakes. Doesn't seem to work as trump never sleeps

'New California' Proposed 51st USA State Declares Independance

the funny thing with the shithole comment is watching the Republicans lie about it, take the 5th by saying they don't recall (which means they think there are tapes so they don't want to be caught in a lie) and the ultimate funny- saying he said shit house instead of shit hole. As a house is bigger than a hole, seems to me it is worse him saying house than hole and it's the intent of the statement that is racist, not that he said the word shit (and his whole life him and his father are indeed racists but even if he wasn't, then it is worse- as he is actively dividing by using the word the phrases he does and it appears whenever there is extreme bad news on the investigations against him, he does this, like a caged rat he cannot control himself, stop himself -

@reputation You mistake one or two Republican billionaires working with the operatives (like Roger Stone as conduit) who are behind this. There are almost no people itself (nor does this article in the OP even warrant discussion as it is not legit to begin with.) (but then you know that already don't you?) it's why the path to 2020 is through the south and the coasts, and anyone else organically who wants to join in. but I myself wouldn't waste one penny attempting to convert anyone already with trump, -

The Republicans have nothing to offer so they keep coming up with ways to steal votes, which this is what this is about This has been attempted in some for or other by the same people five or six times in the past, the state does not want it, it is a handful of rich people but one always has to watch them attempt to steal it. Of course, Washington DC should be a state, Puerto Rico should be a state and if one is breaking states in half, Texas, and make NY and Florida too. (I bet republicans wouldn't want that to happen). Better yet, find a sliver of land somewhere and let all of trump's 12% and dropping core deplorables live on an island somewhere (and build that wall to keep them in, like a federal jail) and let the rest of the people live in peace love and harmony btw- anyone notice trump makes himself 6 foot 3 inches instead of his 6 foot 2, and says he is 239 pounds ( bullshit) instead of 240 (when in actuality probably over 325), because that one pound difference in BMI index puts him under the overly obese level, into the pre-obese level, and to think the doctor puts up with this shit. That picture of trump with Mitch and Ryan shows him wearing platform shoes (what next, Trump in Elton's Pinball wizard attire?) -

I would rather BTD outtakes go on a re-mastered Born to Die and the same for any song meant for each actual album, that way it counts as sales for those albums Would rather have non-released songs and new songs on a new/old album that stand as a "new" album As Born to Die is celebrating its 300th week, personally would rather people keep going back and buying it so its still selling/charting for its 400th week/500th week, etc There are hundreds of unreleased songs, live versions, etc. that could go in major box sets Remember too, that her movie songs have never been released on an official Lana record, so would love those to be in a box set (especially Once upon a Dream) and some of the great duets and other live (Personally would love Goodbye Kiss, Summer Wine, and Chelsea, and what better than a live YAYO with just guitar -

Have tickets (seats not pit this tour) hope to be there Most certainly will be at the Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting at Dr King's Memorial while I am there (weather and health permitting). (great thing about seats is being able to arrive just prior to her going on). -
@reputation yes, trump is racist, and plays to the lowest level of people who hang on his every word (same people who lynched people back in the days, same people who strung Mathew Shepard to a fence. That is trump. and yes, him & his dad used the racist system for his tenements that he rents out in Brooklyn and elsewhere since day one (let alone who over the years has been allowed to play golf on his courses (none of which he himself designed) and even if he isn't Hitler, if he used 10 out of 10 Hitler tactics, then he has the potential to be worse (as there are more people now, and the potential now is greater than then to do more damage.) and, boils down to- people in general don't need the stress day in day out of his crazy rants (and yes he has the right to speak, but we as people have a right to laugh in his face and there is a reason he is hated in NYC. He is a fraud, crooked, and everything wrong he is. BTW- I loved that they projected shithole over his hotel (this should be done 24/7/365 on all his properties) He meant what he said in the exact way he meant when he said it. and yes he is a racist

Went to Boston, glad I did Was sitting as opposed to general admis (which was great as I didn't have to rush to get there...went to the No Name for dinner (on the pier, no atmosphere, but still the single best fish chowder anywhere (though they seemed to have raised prices a bit since I last was there.) now to the concert- Yayo my favorite, totally unexpected and the audience was the most quiet, letting people hear the words of one of the greatest songs of all time. She was in great voice Liked seeing live the way she is doing Pretty when I cry LOVE and Lust for life 13 beaches, with the Candace Hilligoss monologue (though I liked this better at Terminal 5 NYC) I liked National Anthem (I see some here didn't) and I loved as always Ride. (because I'm fucking crazy) bummer no Coachella... really great show Not up in Toronto, but going to NJ and Philly and maybe the other PA show, DC and the south shows health/weather permitting It was one helleva long day (and before I left, I wasn't so sure I was going to go, glad I did.) Hey Lana, do Coachella in New Jersey Friday. -

@@Amadeus I think you are misunderstanding what I mean by lazy. I don't mean she is lazy, I mean it sort of as resigned and leading to her more often putting that microphone out to the audience to take it I think what is really happening it is the fans who don't have confidence and are attempting to cover up something that don't need to be covered up.(as if it is they who think she can't sing live, when in fact the opposite is true. I have been to 20 plus shows live, including the two in NYC in November, and made the long trip to see one song in Montreal at the Cohen tribute...I am mostly in the stage area/pit and the noise level is different in each place. (The indoor CT show a few years ago was the loudest audience) Lana has a unique voice, much like Roy Orbison, and not once in all the times I saw Roy, would anyone dare attempt to sing over him or with him. People hanged on every note that came out of his mouth, and on "THOSE" notes (you know which ones) he outdid himself each time (so much so that after he ovations so loud that he reprised the songs (Crying, Running Scared, etc.) and then outtopped himself again. But the people got to hear it. to the other extent, Dylan challenges his audiences each night, singing his songs different each night, mixing it up because he can't stand to sing the same thing note for note as if he were at a production of Abba Mama Mia or one of the sound-alikes (and yes some days some people in the audience question as to what songs he sang that night yet they come back again and again) And I intend to go to ten to a dozen more shows this tour, including Chicago, but weather was not permitting that. (Sure hope it is only light snow for Boston and NJ next week and Philly and the later shows (including Nashville), but I will be sitting for those shows, and plan on arriving late for each of the shows (shortly before she goes on). but the point I was making is that some want a note for note recreation of the album, and they are singing that version outloud while Lana is attempting to sing that days version of the song which is not a note for note recreation and by the way, I don't want backup singers to be singing, it just takes away from her singing (and again, the back up singers would be singing the song as rehearsed, where she is singing it her way that day which tomorrow would be different. And its something that can be seen by looking at the live performance videos even if I had seen the show the night before or a week earlier the medleys are interesting in that she is singing them different however, if one can't hear the full song, one loses out on how she changes the third verses to mean something different than the first or second @@Sadcore thanks for understanding what I am getting at. -

The crowd singalongs on every damn song are making Lana lazy I don't know which is worse- the girls singing along so loudly it overshouts Lana, or the boys doing the same thing (especially evident in the non-professional videos of the shows), where whomever is filming that persons voice is the loudest.. Don't you see that this habitual screaming every lyric (and when its done it is to the version in ones head from the record), that when Lana sings, you miss out on the nuances in her voice/singing/tonight's performance and in essence YOU ARE MAKING HER LAZY because then she ends up just shrugging and singing the exact way the audiences are and not her own that day version (one reason to go to multiple shows is to hear the nuances, and not a canned daily re-creation of the same exact thing. Why can't people just let her sing? as the vocals on the album are layered and there are no real backup singers on stage, well, what does one expect. She can't sing both front and backup at the same time. -
Pet Shop Boys - Being Boring Elton John- One more arrow (an obscure album cut from Too Low for Zero in the early 1980s), which has the immortal first line "He said I want to grow up, and look like Robert Mitchum" (oh the strings on this song arranged by James Newton Howard)

As Neil Tennant & Chris Lowe of Pet Shop Boys wrote in the song "Dictator Decides" "The joke is I'm not even a demagogue Have you ever heard me giving a speech My Facts are invented I sound quite demented So deluded it beggars belief It would be such a relief not to give another speech © Neil Tennant Chis Lowe Pet Shop Boys 2016 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- everyone should look up the entire lyrics to the song, while it wasn't directly about trump but his cohort little gradeschool park bully Kim I am not sure which one is worse. Or which one is smaller --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- trump is a racist and what he says today he believes. even if he is flailing away and attempting to deflect attention from the conspiracy (not theories, conspiracy) and crimes that the proof is now in for trump, trumpInc and trumpfamilyinc and scary is his attempts to reign in the press, threaten to sue, change federal libel laws(NOTE- THERE IS NO FEDERAL LIBEL LAWS IT IS CALLED THE FIRST AMENDMENT), and attempt to do what Putin does to any opponents

give all of them a credit, life goes on. it's the best outcome, instead of having to give up 40 to Radio and 40 to Hammond/Hazelwood. Isn't that all the same as offering 40%? then have some DJ release a remix of all the songs on one and have another hit that isn't officially official (now if only somehow this controversy can finally get BTD to #1 next week in its 300th week Right now- Lust for life is #2 on ITunes Alternative album charts and #52 on the main top 200 album chart and Born to die is #39 on the I Tunes Alternative album 100 Honeymoon #72 Paradise #78 Ultraviolence #85 so all of her albums are on the Alternative chart -

Radiohead blinked and Hammond/Hazelwood are now going to be included in lyrics which is the right thing to do (no other scenario makes sense).. Hope and this means it will be only one (40%?) not two separate ones -

@@CatchTheBreeze and others- I might be wrong, but the scanning system know a song is the artist, so both for chart purposes and for royalties, I do believe the artist is given the credit even if they did not post it. (Look at all the rap/pop videos that have a dance in it that goes viral and thousands of people post their version- and the artist charts higher from that (Willow Smith for one, Ayo & Teo, etc.) If the artist didn't get credit, most of those would have been taken down from the start. (Now the rules are different pre-1972 music, which was the group The Turtles law suit that has been going on for a while, and keeps being appealed). to reiterate- the major problem here is that if one cedes 40% to RH, (a number some here say is reasonable and Lana thought reasonable) then the actual writers of Air that I breathe will want their cut and that is a big chunk of change. @@slang (I think) was correct- that no one at her company or lawyers were able to listen and hear and do something prior to the album (which as Lana said, Get Free was an early song done (as it was a dark song according to her), is someone who should be ashamed of themselves for not doing their job they are paid to do. (that is my opinion). Any artist on any recording company, and any author of any book have people who do this. The only thing allowed to copy freely is something in the public domain (and there is even an on-going lawsuit about "Happy Birthday" and the restuarants over the years that had the staff sing a variation of that to get around paying the small royalty fee they were suppose to pay. (And why Disney keeps renewing Mickey Mouse and fighting any attempt to let that slide into the public domain.) -

@ConeyIslandKing- it is 1/16 of the entire album, so there are royalties on every single album sold in any form (physical, vinyl cd streaming download which is nice sum of money much like sharing 1/16th of a lottery win and any win Radiohead gets, obviously the writers of Air that I breathe will want the same. and to other points- Stop saying the Hollies. They have nothing to do with it. They sang a cover of the song that was written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazelwood. In fact, Albert Hammond himself recorded the song in 1972 and others covered it including Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers in 1973 then the Hollies covered it and released it as a single in 1974 Hammond & Hazelwood could have gotten 100% from Radiohead but settled on less because Radiohead outright admitted they stole it which in some warped sense of honor, impressed Hammond/Hazelwood and they accepted less. NOW GREAT NEWS- BORN TO DIE CHALKS UP ITS 299TH WEEK ON THE BILLBOARD 200!!! GOING TO EDIT THAT THREAD NOW -

kiddies you got to remember something- let's say the lawyers hammer it out, and RadioH gets 40 to 50%. Of course, Albert Hammond is going to want his fair share (being that it is his song more than RadioH so that means another huge chunk. It's a no win situation. And if you were Albert Hammond, and already successfully won a suit vs. RadioH it goes without saying he will need something (along with his and Mike Hazelwood's name on the credits) too. -

Word for word from wiki on the song "Creep"- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creep_(Radiohead_song) "Creep" shares a chord progression and melody "The Air that I Breathe" a 1972 song recorded by the Hollies. The songs writers Albert Hammond and Mike Hazelwood sued and received co-writing credits and a percentage of the songs royalties. According to Hammond, "Radiohead agreed that they actually had taken it...Because they were honest they weren't sued to the point of saying We want the whole thing'. So we ended up just getting a little piece of it
