the one song I would love to see be a #1 hit, is also what the new album should be titled YAYO and get it placed on some major tv episode for optimum viewing (and being that the placement would provide the clip a video already would be there and it could be the solo Lana on guitar from the tour version, or some sort of remix incorporating the other versions or just re-use the Paradise version but really, wouldn't it be cool if Yayo was a #1 single and was the name of the new album -

@Sparklejumpropenoose one needs radio in all 50 states, not just the great ones to be a #1 in America from airplay. (not talking about streaming.) And the biggest hit of last year was Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee's mega hit, and Ed Sheeran's pair of hits, and the danceshit of Chainsmokers. What do all 3 have in common- all are male. Drake is currently #1 for 8 weeks now even the ultra sweet/cute Havana got to #1 for one week, but again, that was Cuban based. (So the best thing would be a duet with Lin-Manuel Miranda, wouldn't it? and Lust for Life could have been a big radio hit perhaps, but did their recompany promote it (and its the record companies that decide on singles... one of the reasons it didn't is because it would be scandalous in 1/3 of America, even though Lana doesn't even actually mean to take off her clothes, its a metaphor @DAMN- in America, no most people cannot say they hear her songs on the radio funny thing is, in Canada, you can. But not in America on the pop stations (not that I listen to them). Of course 99% of the time I am listening only to her and like you, I want MORE songs, the more the better -

You all are missing a big point- and this is solely about America- to get a hit single in America- (that isn't stream based or rap or Latin or Country these days), one needs it to be RADIO friendly and that is a crapshoot in America. first off, with dictator trumpPutin and his messenger boy Pence, it takes away from many states. Even the song from the Webber album, it might hit if pushed the AC charts but it's not going to do a massive crossover. I do think the easiest way would be through both rap and country. Someone above wants another National Anthem video- well hell, it took Rocky to be in it, and half the people on this thread want NO rap with any black artist. (the video wouldn't have been the powerhouse it was without JFK being black.) and some people (again those that hate the rap songs on Lust for life) want Serial Killer---YET Rocky does the moan that Lana does in Serial Killer. Hypocritical anyone??? BTW- I love both Summer Bummer and Groupie Love and want rap duets, country duets, a duet with Gaga, (hell- Gaga got the hits but Lana had the early cred (polarizing as it was for both) and the cred is greater today so the ying/yang of the two if 100%. but chasing radio airplay is a fools dream. And at the end of the day, Lana is 32 and radio is NOT playing 32 year olds any more than they are playing 60 or 70 year olds, except on the AC and AC40 charts, or as Paul McCartney did with Kanye and Rihanna sort of putting one past the radio people, but again both Kanye and Rihanna are black so it could be pulled off. and perhaps had the record companies released Lana/Sean's duet, it would have become a major hit for both of them and a Grammy winner, albeit it would have gotten alternative and AC and AC40 and perhaps Folk Americana and Rock airplay (and of course both would have heavily promoted vinyl for it). btw, didn't Aranoff's work with Lorde bomb on the singles chart? Sure it started strong but that was streaming. Did it actually achieve top 40 pop? Did Jack's Bleacher album have pop hits? (and still waiting for that first major song on the singles chart for the Black Keys or Jack White. Why chase something that is not needed to chase? or be forewarned and endure a Lana/Ed duet as that would probably chart higher than a Lana/Elton duet. -
Why doesn't she sing Love anymore?

@baddisease re:reply 20 Someone like Bruce or McCartney at his full concert with his band has a callout spot- however, there is a mega-difference. Bruce not only has a teleprompter with all the songs and all the lyrics, the band also had every single song imaginable on the teleprompter. And when, for instance, he sang Royals, it was pre-planned asking different fans what they want to hear when asked by a pre-set-up (and if one reads a different place, one sees there are complete threads over there of what at that show people will all scream together. That is not spontaneous having some fool in the crowd yell out Coachella of course gets drowned out by the pre-arranged mob as for who would film if there were no cell phones or cameras by fans??? Perhaps the entire show would be shot professionally anyhow, perhaps even more so, by the band and insiders, and perhaps more of each show would be stored in a permanent area where said performers get full credit (which also would help chart numbers) and all officially count (as opposed to being stolen). other bands have done that on their sites, and the Dead used to have everyone leave (at that time) their tiny tape recorders and they got in return a professional recording of it, all legit. And the craziest thing is- people stealing it, sitting at home instead of being at the show, what sheer audacity for them later on to bitch about everything and anything, instead of thinking, wow just got a free show. However, IF the purpose is to please the home audience, Lana should stay in the studio and do a love from the studio with just her friends in the studio at a set time, perhaps not even being live and filtering out any mistake that might have been made. because all I hear is whining for what wasn't done, when she does it, same people whine that she shouldn't do it. and it's obvious this thread wasn't started for a positive reason. and the time for a note for note recreation of every song will be when Lana's Mama Mia is performed 10 shows a week on Broadway or in Vegas or worldwide. @LanaReyLoreen Coachella will be performed when it is part of the 4th or 5th Lana Broadway show with full scenery, perhaps even be the titled name of that show (Much like Harry Chapin's musical/play "The Night that made America Famous" -

@terrencelovesme One thing is certain- in 20 years, Lana will be in the rock hall of fame and Elizabeth will be in the Songwriters hall of fame. Set in stone. Matters little if she ever has hit singles -

@TerrenceLovesMe no, I just love Coachella and it also reminds me of Ride (when she is driving fast listening to Gram Parson Byrds Music on "The Summer breeze" on her satellite radio with the sound all the way up Lana should champion Gram into the HOF by the way -

the only question I have about Coachella is whether it is the #1 best, second best or third best song of all time? and as it plays off Lana's music in Video Games, how anyone who likes Video Games doesn't like Coachella is beyond me. (and other songs play off the Elizabeth Grant words in Video Games) -

Having people in a pre-determined yell-out of what song, doesn't mean she will sing that song. Why should she be bullied/abused into singing something she doesn't want to? It is pure abuse/harassment and then the same people get mad that she sings it different, because they then can't sing along the same way. BTW- I like that Jack White and Springsteen and Kate Bush and many others are now insisting on NO cameras/phones during the show and just having people LIVE the show LIVE and not through a camera lens (of which professional camera people can capture the picture (i.e. on the just finished tour- if one wants to see through the camera, watch the screen, in fact, only way to watch Pretty when I cry is thorugh the screens). -

@paradixo I did not give Dan much credit. Ultraviolence the album is basically the same, and Dan, in effect copied Lana with his album that came out shortly after, one which his original fans did not take kindly too. As for the slowing down in West Coast, Lee Hazelwood/Nancy Sinatra did that earlier, so Dan basically just copied that, didn't he? and I would love to see Neil Tennant and Lana do something together (Love to hear Lana sing Being Boring which to me is the #1 song of the 1990s -

I know I will need Wonder Woman's Shield to fend off the hatred that is about to pour forth- but instead of a younger wannabe singer, and, after hearing her on the Elton John tribute album which reminded me, it would be high time for Lana and Gaga to have a real duet, on a slow number not a fast number. plus this second thought- although Jack Aranoff makes every single song he does sound like Fun's We are Young song, remember something- although Dan did produce Ultraviolence, does everyone remember what he said in interviews- something like "I mean, IT IS STILL Lana" (and Lana did have a co-producer credit on it after all) Now, am I also gonna need a lasso? -

@terrencelovesme (re-post 543) except for Sean Lennon, Abel, Rocky, Stevie, Adam Cohen, Leonard Cohen(though that was not official), Brian Wilson (and I want to hear HER version of the Brian song one day and- to those putting down CHANGE while at the same time lauding Scarborough Fair Change is an answer song to Born to Die/Ride and is as loud as Bruce & the E-Street Band in Lana's own way. And it is perfect. Would love to see Bruce do it full E-street band way, in the same way Simon's Sounds of Silence has been done by Disturbed. Change is not a demo. It is a fully grown power ballad. (as is Honeymoon the song) and what is this hatred to the Beatles? Perhaps one can say the early Beatles were Silly love songs. But the later Beatles (the years that made them immortal were anything but (and the reason Paul was always jealous of John). One has to remember Beatles drove off all the teenage idols from America (especially the Dick Clark bandstand pretty boys like Avalon and Fabian and Bobby Rydell etc. and there was a reason Beatles were the most popular over the other lesser Beatles imitators. -

@GeminiLanaFan BTD should be remastered and include Young & Beautiful on it. as to You made me love you- that would depend entirely on the contract Andrew Lloyd Webber signed as to whether or not it would be permissible Still to this day don't understand why her record company refused to promote Young & Beautiful as a single so it stopped midway on the charts. Had the record company allowed and fully promoted YB it would have been #1, but they chose not to. Remember- singles are almost always decided by the record company and not the artist (and back then, the methodology was somewhat different than in 2018 Of course, had this been the mid-late 1960s, Lana would already have had more #1s than the Beatles and Elvis In 2018, it is almost necessary to release a new track every week and then when album comes out have bundles so it propels the album to #1 on the charts So I myself am hoping for both a new lp and also the never on album cd, perhaps mixed into a 1-2-3-4-5 cd set, all of which will be sold at the same time to be continued... -

I am looking forward to the first official EWG1 album and if EWG allows for it, perhaps LDR came come and play and make a couple of appearances in it. But only if EWG wants that. that said- to repeat myself I want a remastered BTD with some new old songs on that, and some Christmas songs, so that people have a reason to re-buy and keep chart movement on BTD Perhaps a duet with Elton on the positive affirmation on Someone saved my life "And butterflies are free to fly fly away, high away, bye bye" (with the affirmation in the same song "It's four o'clock in the morning, DAMN It listen to me good") -

Born to Die achieves its 310th week, HOWEVER it drops to #200 and could fall off the charts next week and with the re-entry by Eminem at 308 weeks, and the Beatles at 309 weeks, they could overtake. and remember- only USA sales/downloads streaming count to the US chart. Hopefully the news that Lana is being honored with the ASCAP Global Impact honor at the ASCAP dinner in April will help. maybe a duet with a country artist, doing a song from BTD that could be added??? speaking of retro Joshua Hedley would be cool -
Elizabeth (Lana) will be awarded ASCAP's Global Impact Award at its annual banquet, this year being held in Los Angeles on April 23, 2018. This is MAJOR. It means that Lana is now on the radar to be in the Songwriters Hall of Fame in future years as ASCAP is one of (if not) the biggest groups for songwriters worldwide. Also being honored is songwriter/producer Desmond Child (with ASCAP's highest honor, lifetime Founders Award) and Portugal the Man Congratulations to Lana on this major award. (and it shows again that her peers and the industry really do appreciate all she has done with HER songs). billboard has an article on this, https://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/8260888/desmond-child-to-receive-ascap-founders-award-honors-for-lana-del-rey-portugal and it is on ASCAP's site too, and many others Dinner/award ceremony in Los Angeles- April 23, 2018

Updated to include the March 24, 2018 chart and now 309 weeks however, it is dropping a bit interesting is Young and Beautiful re-charted on the Alternative Digital Song chart this week at #24 (in its 76th week on that chart) (not sure what brought it back). Lana should add Young & Beautiful to a remastered Born to Die, and also add a Christmas song. -
@ultraHeroine Lana is fibbing, throwing a red herring as does any GREAT songwriter and poet who wants the dear reader dear listener to interpret as they see it. I do believe recently Lana threw in 2 red herrings and one big MacGuffin and an outright lie to a couple of her statements to the press and in concert like in Salvatore, one step ahead while those behind never catch up and never can be caught and BTW, 13 beaches may just be the single best song about the aftermath of rape ever.

@HollywoodHills You are wrong Almost all the classic Christmas/New Year's music is not happy, in fact the exact opposite It is sad, "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas" 'I'll be home for Christmas" (if only in my dreams) "Auld Lang Syne" "Another Auld Lang Syne" (by Dan Fogelberg) "War is Over (and so this is Christmas)" "Peace on earth/Little Drummer Boy" all the classics all sad and melancholy -
