I want a spoken word poetry album and a collaboration with Chuck, and an accompying book by Chuck. Leonard Cohen did. the point of Burnt Norton has obviously been missed by many here. Yet she persisted and used Burnt Norton in her concerts, yet they still missed the point. same as "Don't let me be misunderstood" was seemingly also misunderstood too. -

@ the poster who said lana won't be in the industry I disagree 215%. although technically it could be true, but Elizabeth Grant shall be here long after trump is gone and the world is moving in the correct direction again, and she will be writing and relevant 50 years from now. Unlike Justice Anthony Kennedy who cut and ran, true artists remain forever. Lana © is now Xerox.© this entire decade. When one wants a copy they say get me a Lana type and instantly one knows what it means means -

a lot of times I read without being signed in, and one can plainly see all signatures, so blocking signatures would have nothing to do with seeing them when not logged in. -

Lana Del Rey Born to Die Billboard Chart Immortality
graham4anything replied to graham4anything's topic in Charts & Sales
the July 7 chart has been released, and the above is updated. Imagine Dragons hits 300 weeks (and there are two other albums that in the next couple of weeks will hit their 300 week) Good news though- On the alternative album chart- Lana notches her 197th week for Born to Die (and that is only a top 25 chart) Next week, the new system for charting both the Hot 100 and the Album chart will be in place -

No, I don't wish to do that, as no other one bothers me (except of course, now one other poster indeed added one to annoy me) but its like watching tv or something that has ads in it. Why would I want to block those, when there are so many great songs these days fronting the commercial (like Daniel Johnston's "Story of an artist"). One of the greatest things was hearing Lana's "Once upon a time" the first time on the trailer for "Maleficent". Had I used an ad blocker, would have missed that moment. Ads these days are the single easiest way for an artist to be heard by the greatest number of people ever. (like with Daniel Johnston.) So no not going to do that, however, I might outright ignore any copycats that from now on put one up and do it just to bother me. -

@icomeinpeace nothing personal but for some reason your pulsating moveable flashing gif/jpg is really bothering my head/eyes as it doesn't stop or one can't freeze it none of the others bother me but last thing I want to get is a seizure what with the 100plus real feel weather outside already doing havoc Ever almost pass out while swimming because of the heat/dehydration? again, nothing personal (edit- 3-2-1 as other posters now decide to also put that up just to annoy me) -

speaking of a bop, what the fuck does that word even mean since there has been music from Little Richard and Dan Seals and Cyndi Lauper with the word in it.? Would love Neil and Lana to do a duet on this song Is this a bop? -
Tuesday Democratic candidate for the House Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a community leader, activist and just 28 years old won a major victory in a changing district in NYC that is 90% Democratic. Will she be the once in a generation unique person that comes around that in future years kids around the nation want to be? think JFK RFK Dr. King, President Obama, President Lincoln, for the USA and someone like Glenda Jackson in the UK or Justin and Pierre Trudeau in Canada etc. Haven't felt this way since late 2002 or early 2003 when I first heard about President and Michelle Obama. Note that because of her young age, she would not eligible to run prior to the 2024 President election as the age requirement of 35 is as of the inauguration day which would be 1/25/2021 and when SHE the Democratic nominee for President in 2020 wins, odds are that SHE will be 2 terms, so probably looking at 2028 the earliest. But remember her name. Just like I did President Obama in 2002-3 and then he made the keynote in 2004 and ran and won in 2008 and 2012. Also possible if SHE the Democratic nominee/President in 2020 picks an older person for VP, that person could be one term and then retire, enabling a different VP in 2024 as has been done a few times in the past. (most famously FDR had many different VPS in his four terms). SHE 2018 SHE 2019 SHE2020 SHE2022 SHE2024 as Leonard Cohen sang in Anthem-©Leonard Cohen Ring the bells (ring the bells) that still can ring Forget your perfect offering There is a crack in everything (there is a crack in everything) That's how the light gets in Is Alexandria the Change that Lana is singing about https://twitter.com/ocasio2018

I hope the set list is the same as it has been, because the fans seeing her want to hear the hits, and would be disappointed without hearing Video Games and Born to Die and Ride and others from Born to Die, Paradise, Honeymoon, Ultraviolence and the glorious Lust for Life. Perhaps she should sing COACHELLA I want her to do NO new music at all. I want to be blown away with the new songs in its entirety when it is officially released, and don't want snippets or other shit like that like back in the 60s when one rushed to the record stores to feel touch and smell the new lps that came out each week, and be amazed at what is not heard Why do people want spoilers? The best things in life are those that one waits for. And the best is to not steal it, but purchase it. And the people at the shows should toss their cell phones away, and watch it live. Not through a lens, but through their own eyes I really liked when Kate Bush told everyone to put their phones away and absorb it through their senses not through a silly phone As it should be.

It is an attempt to censor this important topic. Perhaps Kennedy should have a thread on his own, as this will be months and months until a new justice is seated and right in an election period trump himself is actually incidental as it was Mitch & the Powers that be that handle Mitch that stopped Garland from being seated. I think you should start a brand new thread on Justice Anthony Kennedy's Retirement and Replacement

Wonder what exactly was done to strongarm him out of there by TPTB the same way that Bush strongarmed Sandra Dey O'Connor when she still could have been on the court today. There was no reason for her being forced out either. Republicans cheat. It's getting dangerous. Isn't there one or two Republicans in the senate who can just vote NO? Or are they all cowards? We know the answer to that. Ralph Nader and Jill Stein are happy today.

@@vodkaa post 5728 respectfully disagree I have made long drives where the only thing that keeps me awake is her music in fact, a few times on the most recent tour as I was driving to each place, I would put in her music in date order and listen to each and every song (including a couple of my own cds of songs not on any album) As I like long drives, the more new music the better and nothing is better than driving fast late at night blasting it real loud in my car. I would rather have 100 songs in 5 years than waiting 5 years for let's say an Adele album. And Adele in the past said she wishes she was Lana. (wouldn't mind 50 songs a year, one new song each week). -

updated to include the June 30, 2018 chart. Next week will have the new method of charting A note- Paul McCartney has a new song out, that seems to be very Lana'ish (and also Beatles of course) but the sentiment in the song is eerily similiar to LOVE and Coachella and other songs. Has Paul been listening? (perhaps Lana & Sean's Tomorrow never came reached him. And I am a John and George fan from day one. Paul always wrote those silly love songs, but John and George were the reason the Beatles will never be forgotten.) Lana needs to get Born to Die back on the charts. -

most other artists don't register songs because most other artists don't write and co-produce and it is none of the fans business what is and is not registered (it borders on stalking and revealing confidential information, doesn't it???) that said, I wouldn't mind 50 new songs released in a couple of months. -
Lana to be featured in Elvis Documentary - The King
graham4anything replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
In a few years when there are documentaries on Lana (one hopefully directed by Chuck Grant), perhaps if he is lucky, Elvis Presley will get a minute or two and Roy Orbison might be heard in the background singing his song "Lana" -
the story goes Elvis only tried coke once. Was it even illegal back then? Back when Cary Grant did LSD it was legal. Elvis was hooked on prescription drugs. Probably owning Graceland would be #1 collectible to own on Elvis, but one of his planes would be in the Top 5. Perhaps an original handwritten first copy of Burnt Norton or other TS Eliot poem Perhaps you were thinking of Ricky N's plane? Broke??? Where do people come up with these thoughts???
-
reminds me- one of the single greatest photo ever taken regarding Lana was Chuck Grant's iconic legendary scale model that looked ocean size for Honeymoon for her birthday Lana could buy Elvis Presley's private plane which is up for auction this weekend (however the plane is most certainly no longer flight worthy)

A Raisin in the Sun is a play by Lorraine Hansberry that debuted on Broadway in 1959.[1] The title comes from the poem "Harlem" (also known as "A Dream Deferred"[2]) by Langston Hughes. The story tells of a black family's experiences in the Washington Park Subdivision of Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood as they attempt to "better" themselves with an insurance payout following the death of the father. The New York Drama Critics' Circle named it the best play of 1959. ... Experiences in this play echo a lawsuit (Hansberry v. Lee, 311 U.S. 32 (1940)), to which the playwright Lorraine Hansberry's family was a party when they fought to have their day in court because a previous class action about racially motivated restrictive covenants (Burke v. Kleiman, 277 Ill. App. 519 (1934)) had been similar to their situation. This case was heard prior to the passage of the Fair Housing Act (Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968), which prohibited discrimination in housing and created the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. The Hansberrys won their right to be heard as a matter of due process of law in relation to the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Supreme Court held that the Hansberry defendants were not bound by the Burke decision because the class of defendants in the respective cases had conflicting goals, and thus could not be considered to be the same class. The plaintiff in the first action in 1934 was Olive Ida Burke, who brought the suit on behalf of a property owners' association to enforce racial restrictions. Her husband, James Burke, later sold a house to Carl Hansberry (Lorraine's father) when he changed his mind about the validity of the covenant. Mr. Burke's decision may have been motivated by the changing demographics of the neighborhood, but it was also influenced by the Depression. The demand for houses was so low among white buyers that Mr. Hansberry may have been the only prospective purchaser available.[4] Lorraine reflects upon the litigation in her book To Be Young, Gifted, and Black: "Twenty-five years ago, [my father] spent a small personal fortune, his considerable talents, and many years of his life fighting, in association with NAACP attorneys, Chicago’s ‘restrictive covenants’ in one of this nation's ugliest ghettos. That fight also required our family to occupy disputed property in a hellishly hostile ‘white neighborhood’ in which literally howling mobs surrounded our house. ... My memories of this ‘correct’ way of fighting white supremacy in America include being spat at, cursed and pummeled in the daily trek to and from school. And I also remember my desperate and courageous mother, patrolling our household all night with a loaded German Luger (pistol), doggedly guarding her four children, while my father fought the respectable part of the battle in the Washington court." The Hansberry house, a red-brick three-flat at 6140 S. Rhodes in Washington Park that they bought in 1937, was given landmark status by the Chicago City Council's Committee on Historical Landmarks Preservation in 2010.[5] -

the more important two facts--- when she is photographed on a coffee run almost always means new product is coming shortly it never is random number two and most important I really believe there are many here that will NOT love her when she no longer is young and beautiful which means that those people don't listen to her at all and never have.- 114 replies

v-e-r-y-i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g according to billboard- He was killed in a random shooting also He was in an upscale area to purchase a motorcycle in FLORIDA, where under the reign of its nut job governor Scott, has much racism Could it be possible that this was another case like Trayvon Martin? Could it be possible that a law enforcement officer killed him in the typical USA shoot first ask questions later? Racism is rampant in Florida, there are many incidents in the recent past of police shootings in that area of Florida that inflamed tensions or Could it be possible, that straight out of Psycho (13 rooms 13 vacancies), his death had nothing at all to do with him personally, the cash he Is thought to have been carrying, nor of any past problem? (like Marion's robbery was of no importance to why Norman killed her, except that it placed her in that place at that time) That would be ironic.
