@kitschesque Lana is THE trendsetter, the Trailblazer, and as such SHE SHOULD COULD and then when another artist down the road is asked by someone who appreciates their music who even does that? one can say Lana did. time moves quicker these days, no need to wait for 10 years (because in another 4 years one can have a different re-mastered anyhow and add more and more. things don't have to be in neat packages anymore and like Lana does in "Salvatore" she is ten steps ahead of everyone else with a look backwards at all the rest while she goes in directions no one else does Me I am just along for the RIDE -

@arcadia @daytonadeath I would love to hear a duet on "The night they drove old Dixie down" being that the south is turning blue and the racists like south was back in the Civil War are defeated thoroughly in 2018 and 2020 (and fuck you Kanye and your trolling publicity for your new songs (really, a song about poop??) and 2 albums that both will be #1 two weeks in a row making that 2 less weeks in the year to put out a new release)) -

2 more thoughts (no one wants to hear) Lana should do Sylvia's Mother (the old Dr. Hook song) which is one of the great crying over breakup songs of all time and is now 100% obsolete being that the singer is on a pay phone) and even more important If Marina gets to duet with Lana on a record, it would be the greatest thing for MARINA's career, wouldn't it? Making Lana truly the Willie Nelson of the 21st century (because Willie once he made it did duets with every person he himself either loved or needed a duet to bring them back (also side note- making Lana to be charitable like Elton John was in doing an entire album with Leon Russell to give Leon his dignity back, and financial help, and help into getting Leon into the Hall of Fame which increased the money Leon made doing the one night stands he was doing in dives beforehand. So Congrats to Lana for being the new Willie Nelson and Elton John (and I myself wanna hear duets with Willie and Elton...the FJM version of Ride was predicted by me shortly after Ride came out that a country/Americana singer should do that song Americana style (at the time I said Merle Haggard and lamented the fact that Johnny Cash would have been perfect to sing it (and who also did stuff with Rick Rubin) symmetry bonus thought for a Saturday- With this new trend for male rappers to release 2 albums in 2 weeks, thereby going for 2 #1s consecutive, that means less weeks for others to get that #1 album...It is going to take something to get a week where that doesn't happen, and it's going to take something real special now (and utilizing the 2018 method of streaming on pay vehicles to get it to count). I am really curious as to how this will be done this time. What would be great is a re-mastered Born to Die/Paradise so spectacular that it enables BOTH Born to Die and Paradise to get to #1 (remember Born to Die only got to #2 because of Adele) -

Lana Del Rey Born to Die Billboard Chart Immortality

Lana if you're reading this- perhaps Lana should remove Cola from Born to Die/Paradise edition and add Serial Killer to a new re-mastered edition and also one can add perhaps FJM & Lana doing Ride as a bonus. -

Not for nothing 2- Lucien Grande and Universal / Interscope just signed worldwide Kris Wu, a Chinese Canadian singer./ actor What about a duet or have him sing a Lana song from Born to Die, that she could be featured in (Video Games boy band style???) That would sure get a lot of social media buzz, from her label. -
Lana Del Rey Born to Die Billboard Chart Immortality

Born to Die holds at 311 weeks. NOTE- Born to Die is #19 on the Alternative Album Chart, and is the only album in the ALT30 to not be on the Billboard200 all genre chart, which leads one to wonder- are they accurately noting all sales for the main chart, or are people streaming in some way to be a liability to Lana? Enquiring minds would like to know if she is being cheated. (again). -

Is she back in the US? If so, tonight is the ASCAP founders dinner somewhere in LA (note I started a thread on this and since that day have not been able to find it, think it must have been merged somewhere or other but search don't find it -

Any re-mastering of older not released songs should only go on a re-mastered Born to Die, Paradise, Honeymoon, Ultraviolence, Lust for Life and then re-release each in a multi-box set in different configurations, and not have them on a separate one. The pre-Born to Die songs could be released on its own, but at this point I want a brand new album of new songs, not old songs. and no to a greatest hits(or some that should be) stand alone, as that would lead people to no longer buy Born to Die and the others. Same with live songs, those could be added to each as fits. -

@sparklejumprosenoose If I wanted to delve into that reply, I would say it's not conspiracy theory, it would be either thyself or inside information. I.E. not a conspiracy theory, but a conspiracy itself. and if the people that make the charts see even a hint of impropriety, well...not to mention it reeks of sabotage as said a few pages back. one thing I do wonder is, as the music is hers, there is always a chance the checks would keep coming to her anyhow, because it is her singing, her voice isn't it? however, the chart placement won't. Will be interested to see how this looks when the weekly charts are released (esp. the Alt-Dig chart) Or will one have to wait and wait and wait for the updates due to something not right? Funniest (actually saddest thing would be, as said, if now she never puts any of those songs on any album due to litigation happening that takes decades to decide. Wouldn't that be awful (only those actual fans would say so, Sabotage folks would laugh and blame the managers or who and put her down like they always do). ............ BTW- I personally would love to see her future records as Elizabeth Grant as she is not Lizzy or Lana anymore, and Elizabeth is who she is now, and I have been saying that for a long time, especially as the proof was in re:Honeymoon. -

@WildMustang @lonelylolita @Khris @rocktab @cherryblossoms @westcoast99 If that is NOT directly connected to Ms. Grant, and someone is fucking around with fake names and links and then someone actually gets money sent to them by the royalty firms, that is outright theft and fraud and is prosecutable under the full extent of the law remember, if you see something suspicious, report it, I know I would again, assuming it is NOT directly linked to Ms. Grant, the people doing this must really hate her or be stans of Mike Pence -

1960s classic country songs. Not the CRAP that country charts radio plays. Stand by your man Crazy Hello Walls Harper Valley PTA Ring of Fire King of the Road the trilogy Marty Robbins did (El Paso (the outlaws version/ Feleena (the outlaws girl version) / El Paso City or for fun, Johnny Cash's Boy Named Sue or One Piece at a Time and if sad is wanted Chisled In Stone Vern Gosdin (George Strait and Alan Jackson did it later on) or George Jones "He stopped Loving Her today" or "Good Year for the roses" (that Elvis Costello later sang too) -

I really like the song she co-wrote with Miles Kane "Loaded" Sounds like the song was just sitting around for years and she gave it life (and probably the beat too) Very "All the young dudes" too bad David never recorded with her Would love to see her do All the Young Dudes -

@Khris (only because this is the most recent, but it is usually others and ends up leading to posts after by newbees)- I don't click on the Picosongs links because it seems everytime there is a "where is this from" or such, is right after many posts for leaks. and we have been told a million times by Elle and the management that there should be no leaks so best not to click on something without being told exactly what it leads to -
Lana Del Rey Born to Die Billboard Chart Immortality
graham4anything replied to graham4anything's topic in Charts & Sales
Updated to include the 4/21 chart. Born to die is not on this weeks 200. and remains at 311 weeks. Eminem now is tied with Lana for 18th place (Lana had passed Eminem a while back). Beatles #1s now at 312 weeks moving ahead. Lana is still 7 weeks shy of Tapestry. Could there be an official reason, perhaps it is not streaming somewhere that it used to? Or something is limiting sales? (or perhaps in a few weeks they (the powers that be) want the weeks to stop?(or something sinister like that. -
Tomorrow Never Came (ft. Sean Ono Lennon)
graham4anything replied to Say Yes to Heaven's topic in Lust for Life
@hyroponicWeeds Elton is Sean's Godfather Lucy in the sky can be heard instantly after Lana sings "now that I'm singing with Sean" and I always pictured Central Park as the location and always pictured the song is about John. If Something can vaguely be heard in the song, that would be interesting, in that it is was totally written by George Harrison I also envision the song to be like George's "Back when we was fab" and "All those years ago", and Elton's Empty Garden. Which I consider being the best of John's contemporaries tributes to John. Interesting too would be if John had been alive, would he have considered being in the Wilbury's (instead of Tom Petty who always seemed like he didn't really belong in the Wilburys) and of course John co-wrote "Fame" for David Bowie -

actually, while on flight and concert is a perfect time for her to write/compose as there is so much spare time and with the advent of those thingys kiddies use one is always in touch and one can actually record from anywhere at anytime the mood strikes I would say at least 6 new songs or more are already completed, (depending on how many they are thinking of I would say at least 60% is finished and there might be an internal struggle to figure out ep/full length/double/triple/4/5/6 album release One just has to figure out when it will be released, and who else will release that week, if the thought is going for her 3rd #1 album (and judging by Weeknd, can she bring in that total for a surprise release with no advance? I dunno but announcing a date in advance of course could cause what happened with Honeymoon and the #2, not #1 -
While there is nothing inherently wrong with her doing the EWF classic funk r&b September and making it somewhat a copy of what later day Dolly Parton would do, just in time for the CMA awards of which she is no longer country but grabs the spotlight as she is want to do enquiring minds would love to know if she changed the 21st day of September to the 28th day of September so she can take a writing credit (Maurice White died so he himself won't complain)

Yusef (the former Cat Stevens) (perhaps also a peace/holiday song duet on his Peace Train/ Peace on earth) Willie Nelson Kris Kristofferson

The greatest song Elizabeth could sing in the new album, would be to do a duet with Yusef (aka Cat) on his classic song "Father and Son" What a message that would send. (also would love to see a duet with Willie Nelson, while he is still with us, the time is dwinding down) (Lust for Life's climb always reminded me of Willie and Jimmy Carter climbing to the roof of the White House with Willie doing what Willie loves to do most) -

@electricbody @bummersummer If her company makes her one of those who are exclusive, and fans don't, then the sabatoge will be to her if one doesn't. Forget the top 10 for a debut and judging by what is needed for a #1 or #2, forget it going any higher the following weeks. now, Jason Aldean is an interesting case, in that he was there when that shooting happened, but he seems to have lost the gun people (aka a big portion of airplay country charting people as opposed to who stream country so he might not be a good test case, as his 1st week totals perhaps would not be and this new record is a somewhat change for him. Would have been interesting to see if Weeknd had been a test case last week, when his 6 song EP went #1.
