I'm not asking her to go back to TR sonically, I'm saying she needs to figure out how to incorporate the elements of it into her work because it's what made her great. TR had some of the best writing I've heard in awhile coming from a synth-pop artist and then we got Sucker. Its not like asking for BTD 2.0, it'd be like asking Lana to step her game up if Lana recorded BTD and then followed it up with Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded

What a legend. I wish her label would push RAWM, its so clearly a hit

I think Bloom in general is their magnum opus and probably the magnum opus of dream pop as a genre. The album as a whole is just complete perfection.

I think my growing problem with Charli is theres nothing to her anymore. Sucker was very clearly derivative of it's own influences both sonically and lyrically and it was just bubblegum pop with a bit of a "punk" tinge. This new EP goes even further into this issue. Its a Charli XCX EP but it sounds like a SOPHIE EP with Charli's voice on it. It may be pushing the boundaries of pop, but its not really doing anything unique because its nothing SOPHIE and the rest of PC Music haven't already done before. Its a nice release for what it is, but I just hope that isn't the sound of her album because instead of a true collaboration, the Vroom Vroom EP comes across as about 90% SOPHIE and 10% Charli. I think I got into her so much because True Romance was truly unique and really felt authentic rather than feeling completely derivative of it's influences and collaborators.

The lyrics to the song are really cheesy so I think the video does a good job at making a joke out of it which makes me respect her a little bit more

I can't find it on iTunes? Edit: Found it elsewhere Secret sounds like an old myspace demo

I wouldn't say she outshines Charli, I just think the the feature itself is kind of unnecessary. I would've preferred just one of them singing all the way through or them both singing the whole thing

I never cared enough to listen to anything from the SOPHIE SXSW showcase besides Vroom Vroom and Paradise

Its out on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/track/5nPZn724eW06CNxTv3xQrV
-
Also the fact that she used a Pulp Fiction sample is kind of corny
-
Its like awful but its also like pretty good?
-
Isn't that the gay that co-wrote all of Brooke Candy's old stuff?
-
I can send them but the best quality I found was 128kbps for Garden and 115kbps for Colors (Stripped) They came from a promo CD handed out at Camp Badlands in Sweden but for some reason no one seems has them in HQ (because her fans are idiots)
-
Why the new bridge on Colors? Also why re-record it in the first place? Is it the single version?
-
Touch has been officially released as a single along with an alternate version feat. Taleb Kweli Album is finished, called "Nothing's Real" and is coming "soon"

Yeah. I 1) Think she's exaggerating 2) Think she needs to grow up if that actually made her feel as "victimized" as she claimed because that was some 3rd grade schoolyard nonsense
-
Really? Because everyone I was watching with agreed that Andrea (and none of us had heard of her) completely blew Ellie out of the water. One even remarked that it was kind of unfair that they stuck her on stage with someone who could sing 10x better than her. Also lmao at the Kylie Jenner teas she was serving with the work she's had done
-
Well that irrelevant girl completely showed her up
-
It also said a track preempting masochism thats not WTLGI would be out by now and here we are I'm gonna take that release window with a grain of salt
-
So Jeff Bhasker is the dad
-
Whats the highest quality of 5am we have? Can someone send it to me?
-
Does that mean Goodbye is confirmed post-Trouble

She could've wrote it on a guitar and then applied it to the instrumental with a few changes. Being that Lacombe doesn't have writing credits on the song her story technically still checks out
