Lana Del Rey will be honored with the Trailblazer award at Billboard's Women in Music event, which will take place Dec. 11 in New York.    Del Rey will accept her award at the 10th annual Billboard Women in Music ceremony, which will air on Lifetime on Dec. 18. 

The award recognizes the inspiring and interesting path Del Rey's career has taken. Paramore's Hayley Williams was the 2014 "Trailblazer" honoree.   “Lana Del Rey has done things her way from the moment she first burst on the scene, and continues to make brave and bold choices that defy convention,” said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, which consists of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. “She’s a trailblazer from her music to her mystery to her multitude of other interests. I think Freak is much better than Art Deco. The latter is non sense imo. I don't understand the metaphor she uses in that song and I think it's really overrated. Everywhere I go I see people saying it's the best song of the album and I can't really relate.

This is more an opinion about her listeners but, I really don't know what people were hearing when they'd call HBTB or any of Lana's songs 'trap'. Have you heard any trap songs?
 
at best, it's a watered down almost-trap beat. at best.

Meh I don't like this song. It's kind of tuneless and doesn't have a memorable melody imo. I also don't like the stripped production that much. Rick Nowels can do much better. I'm actually really disappointed right now.
 
Lyrically this song is one of her best ever! But the melody is just all over the place and I hate that it's nearly acapella. The production in Lana's songs was what made them even better and now the production is extremely weak on all the tracks. I hope you guys don't get mad at me for being so negative but I'm really not feeling anything from this album so far.

I actually kinda agree. I think you put it a bit harshly but I can't deny that I feel sort of the same way.

I've done the same for my versions of BTD and Ultraviolence. I kept Paradise seperate from BTD, though.

To me those last 4 are a nice additional side-story to the story told in the first part and I think they're not as strong as the other songs I put on my version of the main album. Flipside and The Other Woman both serve as perfect album enders imo. This way I can have them both!

A lot of people seem to believe that Lana is as famous/iconic as people like Sinatra and Bob Dylan and that she doesn't need to do promo because "she doesn't need hits and only writes for herself". I've seen lots of people say that they were happy Lana didn't do any TV appearances because she isn't a "commercial artist". Whilst it is important that Lana stays true to herself, good promo is so important in this day and age. I don't understand why some fans seemingly don't want her to gain wider recognition and greater success - which can only be done if you actually try to do promo. Sales, whether you like it or not, are important and Lana needs to do proper promo and proper music videos in order to maintain interest. Lots of people I know didn't even know she released Ultraviolence, and just remember her as that weird anti-feminist woman who sang like shit on SNL and had a remix. In order to stay relevant, she needs to promote her music. Promoting her music properly isn't "selling out" or being 'commercialised".
 
I think UV promo was lazy and simply not good enough. Many say that she only needs her fans, but if you release an album without live TV performances, do interviews where you make quasi-suicidal and controversial comments and seem distant and passive-aggressive, fail to promote the critically acclaimed lead single and release a few average music videos - you begin to lose fans.
 
Honeymoon is such an important album for Lana's career. If she fails to promote this album, she may begin to lose her relevance and appeal.

Definitely my favourite part of the song. I just wish her vocals were a bit clearer.
