MTWBT is one of her weakest music videos so far. Everything's so random and there is no f*cking atmosphere at all. The way the scenes themselfes are, they COULD be cut in a way that would at least fit the music, but they decided to just put random scenes together. Instead of Lana looking flawless watching boys we get some random scenes of her smiling happily or chilling in a garden without even trying to pose in an interesting way plus a super awkward shot of her playing the guitar. The MALE models are unneccecary since they don#t really get the attention they should get and the underwater scenes are nice but the way they are used makes them less interesting and enchanting than they could be.
Unlike Ultraviolence or Ride it doesn't even try to be something it's not. It's just ... there and not exciting at all. Shame, the song could have been used so well.
Like, Lana observing the guys and then taking them for a sailing trip or to a lonely beach and then the underwater sirens appear and drag the boys down, while Lana goes off to search for some new prey. Or if they didn't want to take a story-telling video, they could have something better in terms of vibes, music-fitting images and stuff.

This probably won't make any sense, because I'm not quite sure how to phrase it, but on some days, Honeymoon is Lana's best album, but on others, it's clearly her worst. Like, I just cannot decide what to think of it. I mean, I LOVE it as I do with everything Lana releases, but at the same time, I can't help but feel as if it's a snoozefest if you're not in the mood to listen to it. Like, when I'm in a relaxed mood, it's perfect in every way, but every other time I listen to it, I can't help but wish it was more like her past works, which all had intriguing soundscapes ad concepts (BTD: orchestral Hollywood hip-hop sadcore, UV: coastal/ dark desert rock). Then there's Honeymoon, which doesn't really have a unique sound like the other albums, it's just a mostly quiet, reflective album with mostly subpar lyricism. 

Honeymoon needs to be completely reworked. rerecord songs, take songs out that shouldnt be on the album (honeymoon, 24, etc.), rework songs production and structure because this album has a whole bunch of messes.
 
the reason i dont like Honeymoon as much as BTD or UV is because on BTD and UV everything was PERFECT. I wouldnt change a single thing about these albums. now on the other hand, HM, I would completely like that album to be flipped upside down and made the best like BTD and UV. songs like Freak could have been wayyyy better with better production and structure, honestly Freak could have been the song of her career, but she fucked it up and made it mediocre. HM is just really lazily put together.

and it all feels very watered down, bland to me. even if her lyrics have (for the most part) always revolved around the same themes, there were eccentric and weird touches to it all that i just feel honeymoon as a whole lacks. i never thought i'd be begging for the little red party dress to rear its head again and yet...here i am.

I hope Honeymoon gets nominated for a Grammy

I really like the Revival album. The first Selena Gomez album I brought was When The Sun Goes Down right after I graduated high school, it got me through some rough times.
 
Selena may not be the best singer, but she's fine. I'm obsessed with the song Revival, Perfect, Rise, and Me and My Girls :-)

I really like her new sound! Stars Dance was just pure pop, it was good but I like Revival better because it's got some really different sounds for Selena, and it also has those massive bops

I don't think it will only becuase even though Lana deserves every award in the world, she gets overlooked for a lot of big awards like that. It's probably due to all of the controversy about her.

I really don't understand how the critics review albums. A lot seem to love Honeymoon and say its her best album.
 
I just don't get it. Honeymoon is good, but is it really her BEST?

Off topic, but something I've always wanted to discuss IS her chipped tooth, it's the outer edge on the left top front tooth. 
 
I've always found it endearing AF, I've noticed it since some 2007 photos of her, don't know if it's been that way since before then or what is the story behind it.
 
But it's very easy to smooth a chip like that out or apply a veneer cap to round/even it out, and I just love how she hasn't done either.
 
It adds character to her smile imo, does anyone know how it happened or an earlier date than 2007 showing it?

Hm ... am I the only one who doesn't think it's that great?

The underwater scenes are nice but their use seems random and they don't really fit the rest of the video. It's obvious they were shot for something else. Unerwater Lana looks great but .. yeah. I'd LOVE to see the original UV video even more now.
Then we have the boys. I'd actually expected her to WATCH them but that doesn't really happen, so these scenes are kind of pointless as they only appear a few times.
Then the scene in the garden. That could have been great if you'd actually see her watching something but she's just randomly lying there and singing. No atmosphere evoked by these shots, the only nice part is the one where she stretches her arms and sings along during the second chorus and the two scenes during the last chorus where she takes a zip of her cocktail and puts on her headphones. And I don't get why these scenes are in b/w. After the logo in the intro of the song, it would have made sense to see this shot in color, or at least from the point on where she puts on her headphones.
And those scenes with her "glittering" and sometimes singing along are unneccecary aswell, not looking too great or special and she's not even constantly along.
 
The video is too random for my taste. Black/white LQ scenes, mixed with LQ color scenes and HQ color scenes. Firls making out underwater, boys playing basketball at the beach, Lana listening to music. She's not really lipsincing nor is she really acting or posing in an interesting way apart from a few exceptions. The scenes where she smiles feel especially unfitting for the vibe of the song which is more like bored/bitter/cool.
The shots of this video would have had potential, but the way it was cut so anticlimatic and edited and generally directed destroy it. It's a nice video, but I would not miss it if it wasn't there. Definitly inferior to the hillarious HBTB video everyone whined about.

i can't wait for the models to have a meltdown on instagram though  they hyped it up and teased so much and only their silhouettes and one of their necks ended up being in it

She's happy with how things are going this era and that's evident in this video. 
The white boys looked hotter in the music video than they did in their instagrams so that's a plus.   

It feels like a mix of her mid-range budget videos and her self-produced music videos, especially the flamingos scene. I really like it

Those models are gonna be pissed! 
 
Anyway I love it! It's fun, sexy, noir, lynchian (  ) and it truly captures the essence of the song

Omg that was so good! Way better than HBTB! I agree that the B&W was overused though. It would've gone well with just the shots of the film, but I would've loved to see all the colors of the set while she was lounging by the pool, I mean we could see from the pictures that it was a beautiful set with a lot of colors. 

The video would make for much better gifs if the scenes were in COLOR 

Some scenes are awkward, but it's much better than hbtb.
