Kind of jarring... but interesting!
I'm just wondering how he happened across a May Jailer song...
I imagine that either he or someone he knows stans Lana, or, probably more likely, he had the body of the song done, and wanted to sample a song, so started searching for "going out with a bang" and found it-- hence the reason the transitions and flow feel so choppy

Your videos always totally transport me into the song, this one included! Also, the visuals you use never feel incongruous or jarring with the music-- they always flow so well and are perfectly matched
Keep up the incredible work, king!!!

I was going to try and fix whatever votes were messed up, but I have no motivation, and no one seems to care, so

If you had to associate a single image, symbol, or other visual to each track from a Lana album, what would you choose?
I began thinking about this because, one day, I'd like to get a tattoo themed around AKA, presuming I still love it in the future-- and, so, since it would be so hard to distill into a single image, I thought about what symbols could represent each track, taking inspiration from the sound, the lyrics, and even the videos.
Here's some ideas I had for the AKA tracks, in the context of a tattoo:
Kill Kill - Hibiscus flower
Queen of the Gas Station - 7/11 sign
Oh Say Can You See - American flag
Gramma - Blue ribbon (like the kind at a state fair)
For K, Pt. 2 - Guitar
Jump - Black-and-white palm tree
Mermaid Motel - Ferris Wheel at Coney Island
Raise Me Up - Pickup truck or shotgun
Pawn Shop Blues - Golden earrings or an orange (???)
Brite Lites - A spotlight, maybe? A stripper pole?
Put Me in a Movie - A film strip or movie camera
Smarty - Christmas lights
Yayo - Black motorcycle
I'm interested to hear what symbols you all think could represent different tracks! Have fun!

Diet Mountain Dew, for me-- it's sweet, infectious, and full of classic Lana themes. Plus, imo, it's the closest to a Lizzy track that she released after AKA

I've been collecting some Interviews and Articles:
- November 4, 2008 — ‘What you see vs. what you get’. Interview by Andy Bates for Adirondack Daily Enterprise Newspaper.
- November 07, 2008 — ‘Lake Placid native Lizzy Grant is making a name for herself in NYC’. Article by Andy Bates for The Lake Placid News.
- February 09, 2009 — ‘Lizzy Grant, on songwriting, Surf Noir and magic’. Interview by Mike Mizrahi for Knocks from the Underground.
- February 20, 2009 — ‘Interview: Singer/Songwriter Lizzy Grant on Cheap Thrills, Elvis, The Flamingos, Trailer Parks, and Coney Island’. Interview by Felicia C. Sullivan for The Huffingston Post.
- June 2009 — ‘Lizzy Grant Becomes Lana Del Rey’. Article by Sarah Grant for Blurt Magazine, Issue #7, Fall 2009.
- June 2010 — ‘Lana Del Rey. On Her Past, Present & Future’. Interview by Steve Bateman for Repeat Fanzine.
I really want to start the Interviews Section... At some point I read that some people were working on it but nothing happened.
God bless you

OTTR was the only Lana song I knew for quite a while, and I heard it right after the album was released. Then, my memory is kind of hazy as to what I heard next, but I know it was one of the unreleased-- Kill Kill was definitely the next Lana song I heard, but if you don't count that as unreleased, Get Drunk may have been next (I remember hearing it around 2012, which is when it leaked-- I have no idea how I even found it). If it wasn't Get Drunk, it was Trash Magic, and for whatever reason, it took me a couple years to ever listen to anything else of Lana's

forgot to make a post about this once i finished it..
i was really happy with it at first, but everytime i look at it i find something wrong
but still one of my proudest acrylic pieces. i was thinking of how lana killed the lizzy identity in particular when creating it
(like it on instagram @crabgod gays)
WHERE'S MY WEAVE

Sorry to revive this thread, but I need somewhere to propose that we have a Trisha Paytas Award for our messiest and most emotional member this year

I never actually listened to AKA in this setting, but I *know* it would've been perfect:
It was while my family was living in a little apartment (not too dissimilar from Lizzy's days in the trailer park) and sometimes I'd listen to music lying on the bottom bunk of my bed with the windows open, a cool breeze blowing in, and the Latin music the Hispanic family next door was playing coming in really faintly. The only light was the moon and the red, white and blue rope lights I'd strung up on the bottom of the top bunk and my window, and I'd light some incense as well.
It was so relaxing, and I could allow myself to just get lost in whatever I was listening to-- I really miss that
