Poor Stacy Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Love Taylor, but what she and Lana do are ...... two different things. Taylor's music is a little more grounded in reality and conventional. Taylor's lowkey obsessed with charts, too, which is a bit cringey. Lana's definitely more out there and is willing to put a song like White Dress as Track 1 on her album, or a ten-minute song like Venice Bitch as Track 3, and it's why I love her most. 19

COCC is so perfectly lanaβ specific, both on the nose and very uniquely her. Expand my problem about βCOCCβ though is that Reveal hidden contents chemtrails arenβt even mentioned whatsoever in the rest of the album. It would suck so much if her new work started being viewed through the lens of one album being a critical darling. Expand Reveal hidden contents I donβt think it will / should. Chemtrails is its own thing, while sharing some - but not that many - similarities with Norman. Itβs as brilliant as Norman, I think, but more personal and folky-ish. Itβs really not a Norman 2.0 and any critic that would want to see that would be stupid. Even the most Β« Norman Β» tracks donβt sound Norman. 6
chemtrailsrising Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 I honestly donβt know what to expect, my expectations are so high because itβs a Lana Del Rey album but also kinda low because I feel like she has never been this unsure of the finished product as sheβs been with Chemtrails. 3
