My guess is that when she wrote the question for the culture she thought she could film that music video sooner but then it had to be postponed. I'm sure they all want to release the album alongside a quality mv

i think the september 5th date got changed a long time ago, the initial plan was a surprise release then either lana’s management forced her to go the high budget route to help with promotion or she just had a burst of creative energy

 

i hope the rollout will be like honeymoon’s

- lead single will be out in a week or two

- pre-order, album cover and tracklist at the end of the month

- music video for cocc out a week before the release in mid october

I’ve never read or heard of Lana having disputes with Interscope. It seems like she has a good relationship with her label.

Cardigan was high budget, but mostly bc all the sets were built on a sound stage. Chemtrails seems to be much more cinematic

I know I’m team September 5th 4th  but I do love coming prepared, and I agree with what @new gods said, so here’s a hypothetical schedule that we can maybe look forward to:

 

second or third week of September  - Let Me Love You Like a Woman released as lead single, maybe with a music video? 

fourth week of September - album cover, tracklist, pre-order 

 

second week of October - promotional single released, maybe the title track 

 

third week of October; October 15th - music video for title track released in the morning with album being released October 15th at 9 PM PST / October 16th at midnight EST

 
 

I was thinking about it and the way she worded it in the IG video today, it made it seem like LMLYLAW and the COTCC video would be released before the album comes out. That’s okay, though!

 

For all of us who were ready for September (and lemme just say that we shouldn’t be quick to rule it out completely until the 4th and 5th pass, I’m just throwing this out there for caution! ) - on the bright side, at least we’ll have more content related to this album compared to the swift surprise release we were thinking it would be! Not that the latter was bad at all, but I think we can all agree that more LDR content is always better!

As awesome as a September 5th surprise release would be there truly is nothing like the emotional rollercoaster that happens in the weeks leading up to release with all the fake leaks and such, so I’m sorta glad we’re probably most likely gonna have to suffer through that lmao
