Samurai was my favorite with Energy and Je Ne Sais Quoi close behind. To me those three had the most interesting production but I honestly really liked all the snippets except for Lazy.

not quite sure the actual names of these and i think they’re demos. i also don’t have the greatest ear for describing music  so take this with a grain of salt butttt-

 

1. Samurai* - would have to be my absolute favorite. extremely poppy and production-heavy. could (kind of?) fit on EH in terms of how heavy the production is. it’s been in my head ever since i heard it.

 

2. Je Ne Sais Quoi* - never would’ve guessed Merna would have some french lyrics, but from what i can remember she annunciated the lyrics in such a pretty manor. she referenced giving a lesson in seduction in a garden which also surprised me lol. sort of reminded me of songs from Kim Petras’s Problematique, but now that i think about it it’s more so because of the french nod.

 

3. Sweet and Sour - this literally sounds like if she were to make froot (the title track) in the present day. also pretty heavy in the production which is really fitting imo. she released a snippet of this but it doesn’t sound like it at all. the snippet she released was a more low tempo but the leak was very poppy and very froot.

 

4. American Life*/Energy*  - also very poppy. very similar to samurai* and je ne sais quoi.

 

5. I <3 U - this was also similar to froot like sweet and sour. for some reason though i don’t like it as much as i do the rest.

 

6. Not Over You* - a cute ballad. similar to Flowers, Pandora’s Box, Goodbye, Happy Loner, Free Woman… could very much be on ADIAML

 

7. Parasite*/Lazy Lazy* - a nightmare that may destroy the world and bring about armageddon or even the heat death of the universe upon release. definitely would be my least favorite if it were to be put on the album. there is some toy box sound effect after the verses that makes me laugh every time i hear it. literally sounds like a continuation of baby/orange trees and could easily be put on L+F. it’s giving “mess up my towels” from no more suckers. but at the same time it’s also giving turbofolk balkan pop accordion music which is a mess 

 

i might be missing one but anywho i would say i’m pretty excited for M6. she’s doing it i think. Dua Lipa x Lady Gaga as someone compared the sound to

I think this album isn't going to be that serious lyrically, more likely funny and playful, which I'm okay with because Marina's good at being playful and I've accepted her lyricism won't be as critic and thoughtful as before. She sort of gaves uf that with ADIAML, but I think her lyricism has just changed.
