FERNANDA TORRES ACTRESS OF THE CENTURY :oprah4:

now let’s wait and see if lana appears in any after party :adele:

Is she really that good in I'm Still Here?

Was hoping Kidman wins the Oscar this year for Babygirl.

she’s absolutely incredible in the movie and it’s an amazing victory for brazil! in addition to her great performance, her mother was nominated in the same category 25 years ago and lost, so it’s very symbolic as well

Can't wait to watch it. For the Golden Globes to choose her over Jolie, Kidman or or Winslet, it says a lot.

But don't get too excited - she might go the Anatomy of a Fall route and just be rewarded with a nomination.  They do that sometimes with foreign actresses. See Emmanuelle Riva for Amour.

So that was Margaret after all...:trisha: It's cute that they share the same team of hairstylist and make-up artist.

Also my predictions, which I got right and which not:

The Golden Globes are tonight!

Let me predict the winners in the movie categories and let's see if I got them right tomorrow!

Best Picture - Drama: The Brutalist

Best Picture - Comedy/Musical: Anora (but I can also see Wicked winning it for the cultural impact)

Best Actor - Drama: Adrien Brody

Best Actress - Drama: Fernanda Torres (I can also see Nicole Kidman or Angelina Jolie winning this)

Best Actor - Comedy/Musical: Jesse Eisenberg (I can also see Sebastian Stan winning this) ☑️

Best Actress - Comedy/Musical: Mikey Madison

Best Supporting Actor: Kieran Culkin

Best Supporting Actress: Zoe Saldaña (I can also see Ariana Grande winning this)

Best Director: Brady Corbet (The Brutalist)

Best Screenplay: Anora by Sean Baker

Best Score: The Brutalist (composer Daniel Blumberg)

Best Original Song: El Mal (Emilia Perez)

Best Foreign Movie: Emilia Perez

Best Animation: The Wild Robot

Box Office Achievement: Inside Out 2

The Golden Globes are mostly "commercial" version of the Oscars, so I can see them giving those awards for the cultural impact but not for the performance but these what I predicted are most based from what the critics have said and how many awards these movies/actors have won.

I got 8 out of 15 right, and also one half-right. Not bad :oic3:

You've done really well!

The Brutalist is winning Director, Picture and Actor at the Oscars, it's kinda obvious now that it's the frontrunner.

Haven't seen it yet (I'm sure it's great), but I really wanted Wicked to take BP, so a bit sad.

I really don't want Demi to win the Oscar. She just wasn't all that.

I've read that The Brutalist is a limited release, so yeah, we might have to wait for a very long time to see it, I hope they will put it out on streaming. I've also read that it has great chances in sweeping the technical categories (cinematography, editing, sound, score) as well which kinda surprised me because I thought that Dune 2 had locked them in.

I lowkey want Demi to win the Oscar. She's amazing imo. I'm happy with either Demi Moore or Mikey Madison.

I think that the Best Picture nominees list goes like this (in order which one has the highest chance of winning):

The Brutalist

Emilia Perez

Anora

Wicked

Conclave

Dune 2

The Substance

A Complete Unknown

Sing Sing

A Real Pain

Next we'll have to see the Critics Choice Awards and BAFTA Awards to see, if something changes and then comes the real game changer which is SAG AFTRA Awards which basically can confirm the Oscar victories (well most times).

That list is pretty spot on! Unless they do Nickel Boys instead. With how much money Inside Out 2 made, I wouldn't be surprised if they push that in BP too.

But yeah, The Brutalist and Emelia Perez have the most momentum. Though I'm sure the Academy loves Wicked and Anora a lot as well.

As for Demi, I don't know... I feel like the role plays into all of her strengths, and I would have been a lot more impressed if 40% of the screen time hadn't gone to Qually, who oozes charism and sex appeal. I don't think Demi did anything Kidman or Blanchett couldn't have done in their sleep. Kidman in particular would have eaten that role alive and probably won every award in the sun.

But I'm glad Demi is finally getting some recognition. I'd leave it at the Globe though. I think even Erivo showed a lot more actual skills than Demi. Kidman I haven't seen yet, but I can tell I'm going to love it more than Demi (plus, she's in every shot of Babygirl).

The year is finally shaping up a certain way with clear frontrunners. But I feel like Lead Actress is a complete mess and anything can happen. From Torres to Kidman to Jolie and even Swinton.
