I do think they're certain artists that shouldn't be supported such as Kanye West, Melanie Martinez artists like that who have done and / or said horrible things.

I'm obviously not gonna talk about other artists (like D*ddy, R K*lly, etc) since they obviously shouldn't be supported, nor am I gonna talk about Taylor Swift because I think lots of people (not just on here) simply can't grasp that selling lots of variants, merch and vinyls (which honestly compared to pervious eras wasn't that much) is just good business practice (I do think she is open to criticism just not about that).

Jojo Siwa... I think that ppl don't deserve her, I think she created gay pop but ppl tend to forget it. And I think that there's 4 old dudes from a band called "Kiss" ?... They stole her whole aesthetic into something cheap.

I think she also is a great vocalist. 

But ppl don't deserve her, so I think she should stop producing music at all, and she should sell her demos to other artists to make money with her songwriter skills.

it's not that i believe people shouldn't ever listen to melanie martinez, but it's incredibly shameful how her fans look the other way regarding her rape allegations, and other strange things she has done

 

not to mention her fans harassed and targeted her accuser to the point where she had to leave the internet, good on her for having the strength and the bravery to speak out again about it not too long ago

It's also the constantly shifting goalposts. If it's not who had the most streams, then it's who had the most critical acclaim. If it's not that then it's who is the least cancel-able. Either an artist is the greatest because they have x amount of Grammy's, or they're the greatest because they're constantly snubbed and therefore the Academy is fucked. There's never a consistent through-line 

 

Take note of how many Billie stans suddenly believe the Academy to be corrupt and the Grammy's to be rigged, after praising it following her sweep in 2020

Or the amount of Bey stans who are suddenly praising the integrity and the newfound transparency of the Grammy's, after accusing them of being racist

Or the Taylor stans who are now convinced that the Grammy's are too scared to give Taylor more awards because "people hate to see her winning", after gleefully celebrating her record-breaking 4th AOTY

Or how, no matter who wins, somebody will be accused of payola, either way

 

Also this is not to say that I'm absolved of any of this. If Lana ever wins a Grammy I'll suddenly hold the Grammy's in seriously high regard lmao 

As long as stans can be open and humble enough to poke fun at themselves, it's all good. But that won't happen too soon lol

Playing the new album from The Weeknd that just came in the mail, Yes I had tried canceling - But it had already shipped from the shop.

The Abyss doesn’t have Lana on it.

This rollout has to be the most deplorable from a major label artist that I can think of. Worse than Pink Friday 2 which I didn’t think was possible.

Honestly I’ll never purchase another thing from him, He’s got to be one of the biggest pieces of shit in the industry atm. To do this to your fans, It’s just fucking disgusting and I’m pissed. Not going to rant - Just needing to vent.

Are you sure it's not an error? Also that isn't the first time I've heard of something like this 

 

Born This Way had multiple songs where the "final" version (the versions on the album) were not supposed to come out. Like one song had a whole verse cut that was on the booklet.

 

I try to separate the art from the artist (as evidenced for my love for Melanie, I love her art but I don't like that she was involved with the be Timothy thing at all and her fans were out of line for intervening).

 

But there are a few artists I just can't do that for:

I’m sorry this happened. I think the album was originally planned to be 11 tracks and it was supposed to come out early. Somewhere along the way, I’m thinking he decided add more songs, which was a late decision as physicals were already produced. It sucks.

 

on a side note, would these first press editions value more collection-wise?

This is something I wish other fans would admit. How awful it is that they thought it was their job to dig up "receipts" of a wrong date, pretend that meant the *ssault could never have happened and then Melanie actually thanked them and put out a song about it
