Misheard Lana Lyrics

Recommended Posts

National Anthem: I know what it's supposed to be, and perhaps it's the IT guy in me, but I keep hearing:

"See what you've done to me / keep your server on"

Haha, thats funny.

I always mishear a lyric in Brooklyn baby where she says. "We can plant our seed"

I hear: "Was blind now I see"

When is she supposed to say "we can plant our seed" in BBY?!? Sounds very misheard to me xD

Just do it. Just do it - don't wait!

Maybe I've double missheard haha.

I also mishear in 'Children Of The Bad Revolution'

Instead of 'Partying's our only solution' I hear ---- 'Partying down in solution' which I thought sounded pretty good.

come on Limelight everyone knows both of the booklets are wrong. Its like some old man at Interscope listened to the album once and just guessed the lyrics

Right?!!  I read the Born To Die booklet and couldn't believe some of the sh*t in there - I don't know if she changed stuff or if it was a mistake, but if it's a mistake it's a bad one to make on two albums.

Misheard Lana Lyrics

Here is where we can post lyrics that we've misheard in Lana's songs.

Be sure to post the real lyric, too.

I'll start:

In Diet Mountain Dew it says:

"There in his white Pontiac Heaven"

I thought it said:

"Ridin' his white pony named Kevin"

I know, embarrassing

Can't wait to read some of yours!

omg I needed that laugh tonight. ;) All of these are great, but this is my favorite. I think I prefer this misheard version. haha

You guys HAVE to look at these lyrics ... it was a sheer coincidence I was reading this forum and listening to this song then looked up at the screen to see the lyrics ... they got pretty much everything wrong. ;)

Well it's not exactly "misheard" but I thought that when she sang in West Coast

"His parliament's on fire and his hands are up"

she described a very romanesque-y scene, where she would have been the companion in crime of a very important man (hence the Parliament) and the fact that that building was on fire made me wonder what kind of crime they had committed, and the police was there ("his hands are up") etc etc... My fantasy was really fed with those few lines and then I read that recent interview (don't know which one precisely) where the journalist describes Lana smoking a Parliament. So it was just a cig. Meh ...

Darn! That's what I thought it meant, too.  This thread is enlightening me. ;) I kept thinking of revolution and V For Vendetta and it all made sense.  Now I'm a bit disappointed.

Ultraviolence: "He used to call me dns, it stood for deadly night shade"

Yayo: "It only takes two hours to Nirvana"

Burning Desire: "Cruising down Hollywood & drive for your baby" "I drive fast radio flares"

JFK: "You're so necrotic, the way you see through that shit"

Young & Beautiful: "oh that face makes me want to naughty"

One line in "Brooklyn Baby" sounds like she says "...and my Zaz collection rocks..."

"And you can't keep your hands off me

Or your pants on

See what you've done to me

Turn my shaver on"

That's funny! Even better than my "Keep your server on", LOL...

"Video Games..." never looked at the printed lyrics, and all this time, I thought the 2nd line was "Open up a beer and you take it over here and play your video games." Now I see that it's actually "Open up a beer and you say 'get over here'"...
