evilentity 13,343 Posted January 30, 2014 Atop every mountain there's a hurdle in the sky When at last you've found them you will understand as I There is no solution Life is without resolution You must ask yourself what you really want in life You must trust in me when I tell you it's alright It's alright tonight It's alright tonight I remember New Year's that your everything seemd right We had not made plans and we just drove all the whole night Let's all go find a friend Don't stop until the end You must ask yourself, am I really the one? You can't be of help if you can't have any fun I'm your one if you want me to be Please leave me be Who are you to say [a/your?] soul won't live forever Yeah, yeah Atop every mountain there's a hurdle in the sky When at last you've found them you will understand as I Each breath is sent from angels These people they are not strangers You must ask yourself what you really want in life You must trust in me when I tell you it's alright It's alright tonight It's alright tonight 5 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation. evilentity 13,343 Posted January 30, 2014 The lyrics, the melody, her voice. The loveliest of several lovely "new" tracks. So much so that her overuse of the word "alright" characteristic of this period doesn't even matter. 2 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation. Wryta Thinkpiece 3,344 Posted January 30, 2014 So much so that her overuse of the word "alright" characteristic of this period doesn't even matter. Seriously, though, I actually really fancy it. Just makes me think of a someone coming to a sense of "contentment," they're not down in the dumps, they're not over the moon; they're just "all right." Can't complain, can't brag. Or in contexts like here, there's just that sweet optimism, all the while making sure to keep feet grounded as to not have too much hope for a quick recovery from a negative experience. It's not going to be perfect, and it's not going to be amazing anytime soon, but things will get all right, it's just the beginning. I don't know, these May Jailer tracks are just really scrambling my brain up right meow. There's a je ne sais quoi about them that is just really something. I don't know if it's the articulation, the expression, or just that a lot of the lyrics hit home, but damn, yes.
Sitar 22,210 Posted January 30, 2014 The phrase "more mountains" comes up in Lolita during Humbert's sort of catalog of their travels through America. Part two chapter two for the LanaBoards book club lel. Almost definitely a reach because it's such a small phrase (in context: "Distant mountains. Near mountains. More mountains; [insert detailed list of mountains]") but it's sort of interesting to note.
Platinum Greenwich 13,845 Posted January 30, 2014 ^ Favorite track from these two EPs tho, tbh. Also, minor correction: "I remember New Years, that year everything seemed right"

honeymooncd 3,745 Posted October 4, 2023 She has a theme of mentioning "Tonight" in the era of may jailer, and looking for hope....I'm glad she's happy now 1 Quote "I want to stay home, be left alone- Someone make up my mind so I don't have to decide" https://www.last.fm/user/fakeeyelash13- my last fm <
