Sitar 22,210 Posted September 26, 2012 I could cry, I love this song. You can whistle for it Baby, you’ll never grow old in my eyes With your golden grill, true love never dies You wanna watch me while I watch TV While you’re t-t-t-t-touchin’ me We’re forever young in paradise As long as we got the Chevrolet, I will ride We’re gonna party like it’s 1949 We’re in that Chevrolet from July to July Gonna see it all before he says goodbye Every man deserves to see the sunrise Every man gets his wish Every man gets his wish You told me this Where is mine? You said I’d never make it out of here alive At the rate I was going, I’d be lucky to die I was born so bad, not naturally right The brightest star on Hollywood and Vine We’re gonna party like we’re running out of time Getting drunk and driving fast on cherry wine Never do belong to anyone I find Leaving everything I ever knew behind Every man gets his wish Every man gets his wish You told me this Where is mine? Every man gets his wish Every man gets his wish Promised me this Were you lying? I learned how to make love from the movies He found me waitressing at Ruby Tuesday’s He said, “I wanna buy you up, plus a/a classic white milkshake.” I said, “I’ll serve you up a special side of heartbreak.” Special side of heartbreak. I was working down in the corner café You would drive by in the Chevrolet Whistle at me as my hips go sway “Lana Del Rey, how you get that way?” How you get that way? I said, he loves my heart-shaped sunglasses He loves the heart shape my ass is Cristal, crystal champagne glasses Every man gets his wish Every man gets his wish You told me this Where is mine? Every man gets his wish Every man gets his wish Promised me this Were you lying?
TrailerParkDarling 5,691 Posted September 26, 2012 You can whistle first. You can whistle for it He said, “I wanna buy you a (???) milkshake.” I wanna buy you a classic white milkshake and I think the the other 'Where is mine' is 'Well, you lied' Love this song so much although the combination of 1949+every man gets his wish+ something else? is odd 1 Quote *** People call me crazy but I'm in demand ***

Madrigal 2,616 Posted September 26, 2012 Here's my theory: Okay. Back in 2009, at the same time they recorded "Heavy Hitter," Lana worked on a very rough demo of a song tentatively called "Hawaiian Tropic." However, they never finished it, and she took some ideas and lyrical themes from that unfinished track and instead used them in conjunction with her old demo "1949," and came out with THIS MASTERPIECE. It's like the happy sister song to the slow version of "Hundred Dollar Bill," and hey! Look at the RUBY TUESDAY reference. Hmmmmmm?

Madrigal 2,616 Posted September 26, 2012 any info about it? year? alias? etc etc It's 2009, and registered--I just forget the authors. Probably a "Lizzy" era song, even though the song obviously mentions LANA DEL REY.

evilentity 13,343 Posted September 26, 2012 You can whistle for it Yes. and I think the the other 'Where is mine' is 'Well, you lied' I wasn't sure if it's "Well, you lied" or "Were you lying?" Also: We’re in that Chevrolet from July to July I was born so bad I'd naturally [ride/write?] You would drop by in a Chevrolet And what the fuck kind of milkshake is that? Phonetically, it sounds like Plass-o-bite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_hFTR6qyEo 0 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation.

I hear "lying" more than "lied", good catch. You helped me figure out that it's: I was born so bad, not naturally right High-five, evil Generally I trust your judgment, but I implore you to listen to it with your speakers as loud as they'll go. I'm pretty confident it's "drive". I definitely hear a "P" in the milkshake bit...We need Neal/Dale in here!

youcallmelavender 31 Posted September 26, 2012 so do you guys think the 'official' title (haha ) would be "Every Man Has His Wish" (like in our forum lyrics section here,) or "Every Man Gets His Wish"?

Although it says "gets" in the song, it's registered as "has".

Madrigal 2,616 Posted September 26, 2012 Oh! I forgot to mention a big part of my theory. CG wrote of them as the same song when she did her discography, and also wrote they were produced by Blockhead....and this one isn't, so it stands to reason HT is a legitimate, yet unfinished, title.
NEAL 740 Posted September 26, 2012 We need Neal/Dale in here! Neal needs to listen to this song, or more importantly needs to get a hand on the song, which is where..? For the first and last time, u guys stawp typing Neal/Dale.. It's Neal now and mind the spelling, it's not Neil, Niall or even Neall. I just want a name that sounds beautiful coming off the tip of the tongue and which reminds me to the times I was in Glasgow of highlands, tartans, horses and bagpipes. I'm trying to erase the remnant of my FBI past, buy the rights of my song and get my filthy rich daddy a new contract at Interscope, aight. Mess with me, and my manager Men Bawson gonna hunt u down. 5 Quote ..but believe me when I say that the surveillance we live under is the highest privilege compared to how we treat the rest of the world. IamThatGirlLily 533 Posted September 26, 2012 SitarHero, you're title should be "Official lyrics provider". You just saved me from hours of frustration, for this I thank you. Her little rap/fast talking part is the best part and the upbeat tempo just makes my hips go sway.
