Subversive 2,214 Posted March 3, 2015 I'll do a track-by-track Kill Kill - 10/10 (One of the best opening tracks I've ever heard) Queen of the Gas Station - 9/10 ( Such a bop :bop:It reminds me of Starbucks ... and hookers ) Oh Say Can You See - 9.5/10 ( I always end up thinking about one of my exes when I listen this song . I had such a good time with her . No, this song is playing with my mind ) Gramma - 9/10 ( Another flawless bop ) For K , Pt. 2 - 9.5/10 ( This song makes me feel like I'm in a western movie . Idk why ) Jump - 9/10 ( This song gave to us one of the most iconic lyrics that Lana had ever written : "Palm trees in black and white/ Last thing I saw before I died") Mermaid Motel - 10/10 ( First time I heard this song i was like : "What is this shit?!".. Now it's my go-go dancer song ) Raise Me Up - 10/10 ( RAY ! RAY! ( ) .. I love the lyrics so much .. And I like the voodoo shits .. So it's one of my favorite songs) Pawn Shop Blues - 10/10 ( I can't deal with this perfection . I CAN'T ) Brite Lites - 7.5/10 ( Such a bop .. But it sounds like a filler ... Still a great song) Put me in a Movie - 10/10 ( I love the way she says "action" .. And this is such a dirty song .. She really likes her "daddy") Smarty - 7/10 ( I think it's the weakest track on AKA ) Yayo - 10/10 ( Perfect album closer ) Final Score : 93/100 . This is a flawless record .. We all know that and I think that AKA it's her most diverse and cohesive album .

GangstaBoy 3,930 Posted March 5, 2015 Join Miss Del Rey in this narcotic trip to the depths of her decaying, neon-lighted world Kill Kill, the very first song and one of Lana Del Rey's finest tracks, sets the mood for the drowsy, cinematic experience that is her debut album. From Gramma to Brite Lites, each song creates it's own unique atmosphere, where Del Rey's crackling voice twines around the many intricate topics she explores. Highlight tracks are Kill Kill, Oh Say Can You See, Pawn Shop Blues and the all time favourite Yayo. On the downside, many of the songs have a vague feel to them, showcasing a few of Del Rey's least memorable melodies. 60/100

PARADIXO 32,943 Posted March 7, 2015 I start. Born to Die is a huge album that will slowly become a classic. With its exquisite and desperate lyrics, glamourous personality and retro imagery, Born to Die always feels fresh and innovative. Yes, the production could've been even better (and I say "even" because it's good, in my opinion), but it fits Lana's character -- dramatic, sad and sensual. 79/100

Creyk 11,699 Posted March 7, 2015 How timely! I re-listened to the entire album (along with Paradise) from start to finish yesterday! The fact that 3 years later almost all songs still sound fresh speaks for itself. This record was Lana's life goal, and it's amazing. I love the aesthetic of the Born To Die era, the retro beauty queen/gangsta Nancy Sinatra blend was captivating, her looks were on point and the videos are iconic. The music is perfect. BTD is hypnotic, Off to the races is loads of fun, Radio is so full of hope and something we can all relate to, Carmen is lyrical perfection...there isn't a bad song on the album, and the loon is really close to my heart, overall the samples used compliment the album really well. This is such a unique album, I'll love it forever. Score: 95/100

GodBlessMe 2,141 Posted March 11, 2015 Why Because she literally spelled D-A-R-K and P-A-R-K in it. No but seriously I really love the demo but I hate Emile's production on the final version. 0 Quote I AM MY ONLY GOD
