Pretend 367 Posted March 24, 2015 Chløë Black unveils her introductory track ‘27 Club’, a slinky noir pop ode to those musicians who passed way before their time. The track has so far been greeted with an avalanche of online praise ranging from Disco Naivete, Beat Magazine, GQ, and Stereogum, with many blogs tipping her as a future star and one to watch in 2015. Furthermore, the track surpassed 100,000 plays in its first week and went on to top both the track chart and Twitter chart on Hype Machine. Black, who was born in Australia, educated in Paris and then in the West Coast of the USA, now resides in London also working with Jim Eliot (Ellie Goulding), Arcade, the hit makers behind US #1 Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’ and Ballisiq (Little Simz) amongst others. Giving me a flashback of old days where MSN Messenger names had ~cool alternate characters~ and ~symbols~. Unfortunately, it's not 2005 anymore. I think you are overexaggerating here, there may be similarities but she's not copying. Visually, thematically and lyrically shez a dead on clone of Lana's style . She is even pouting like her lool..its just hiiilarious .Sonically she does sound like Leslie Clio and also Charlotte OC .Good song btw, had never heard of Leslie b4. For example even Charlotte OC has a bit of a Lana vibe but she has her own style as well whereas Chloe Black has completely ripped off LDRs aesthetic.
