debut is a very solid listen and i wouldn't say there's any song that's bad but there's not really any noticeable highlight BESIDES prisoner which is a mega bop and should've been a single

emotions has a lot more notable songs, but also some more notable low points

overall:

debut - 6.75/10 (highlights: prisoner, vision of love, vanishing, you need me)
emotions - 7/10 (highlights: emotions, you're so cold, can't let go, make it happen, the wind)

She hates prisoner- one of the few songs I’m sure she’s basically confirmed she wishes she never made 💀

Prisoner’s probs my fav off debut next to Vanishing bsdjfjf Mariah queen of rap no it’s true,, It was even too ahead of its time for Her but she doesn’t acknowledge time so she’ll forever be stuck hating this song

My controversial opinion is I don’t like daydream as an album tbh-it’s got so many dud ballads like her cover of open arms, one sweet day(still don’t understand the love for this song )

 

the highs are high like underneath the stars, melt away, fantasy but the lows…..well

 

if you took out when I saw you, one sweet day and open arms- replaced them with slipping away, one night and something else the album would be amazing

hot take but i don't really care for her albums released before butterfly  the singles are good and theres a few good album tracks but then butterfly onwards is really excellent

i finished her memoir - absolutely loved it highly would recommend

intended on listening to butterfly & #1's today but never got to them because of the above thing but i'll talk about my thoughts on daydream which i listened to yesterday that i never posted

a significant step up from music box that is FOR SURE - definitely her most consistent album so far in her discography
i'd rate it a solid 7.5/10 - i know there's greater stuff to come (some of which i'm already familiar with) but it definitely holds its own very well
highlights: long ago, underneath the stars, looking in, always be my baby, fantasy, melt away

also make it happen has been starting to grow on me a bit so add that to the list of emotions highlights

butterfly is some GOOD food! the only song that didn't fully click was the beautiful ones cover mostly because i prefer the original version but she still did a pretty good job
i'd rate it a solid 9/10 she did a good job with it - highlights: the roof, honey, breakdown, close my eyes, butterfly, 4th of july, outside

rainbow is... interesting! i definitely think most of the songs are very good but it comes together really strangely and it results in a weird listen
i'd still give it a 7/10 though just because most of the songs are very good even if they come together a little weird - highlights: heartbreaker, heartbreaker remix, petals, can't take that away, bliss, how much

i decided to listen to all of them before making another post but i will say that there is another album that managed to sneak its way past music box to the bottom
