YUNGATA 14,955 Posted October 17, 2012 ITT: We share Lana related moments in your life that have been, happy, funny, profound, sad or whatever you like. Let's just share stories. I'll start us off. I had a free house so invited a couple friends over for a few quiet drinks. We played cards for a bit while listening to music. I was a slightly tipsy and started gushing about Lana (you guys have done this... right?). Told them they had to listen to this live version of Video Games everyone's watching in silence, completely absorbed by her. The chorus plays for the first time and I hum along quietly. Another friend stars singing softly and eventually we're all yelling the chorus at each other on the verge of drunken tears. It wasn't a big moment but I felt incredibly connected to everyone at the table and that was really nice for me. How about you?
Hello Heaven 1,578 Posted October 17, 2012 The teachers are never bothered to teach on the last couple of weeks of school before the summer holidays so our english teacher let us play whatever random youtube clips we wanted to and it was projected onto the big bored. The dirty looks and talk I got when I played the Mermaid Motel video And two weeks ago I was in town with my friends and we rushed around frantically finding every bus stop or bilboard in town with Lana's H&M advert on and we went into H&M and asked if we could have one of the posters but they said no and I was really tempted to just tear down the massive picture of her and run. but I can't run. So I didn't.
SugarVenom 464 Posted October 17, 2012 A few days ago it was the 6 month anniversary that I had met Lana. I walked into school and my teacher starts playing Blue Jeans and Video Games from his iPad in registration. He didn't even know then I was obsessed! 0 Quote one time, lana del rey told me that I made her day~ it was awesome

Mileena 2,693 Posted October 17, 2012 er where do i start? this is my most recent one though: so i have a friend and she said that she has a friend in year 8 who likes lana del rey, and apparently this girl in year 8 said 'omg nadia knows more about lana than me, and that's really saying something'. so a couple weeks ago my friend said 'okay so charlotte(the girl from year 8) wants to meet you' and i was like 'okay sure'. so i met her at break and BOOM we connected so quickly. she knew a few unreleased songs, we listened to lana for ages and she met me at lunch. and we've hung out every day since(: she runs my website with me and i gave her loads of songs and she's gonna buy me something lana for christmas ;D not as eventful as all yours, but it means a lot to me. all the lana fans are coming out of the closet at school.

SugarVenom 464 Posted October 17, 2012 blegh. mine's like in his 30s and he's balding and yeah just not attractive There's a teacher who looks like Tom Daly, and my friend was in the corridor today and says to me really loudly, 'Mr ---- is be-youuuu-tiful!!!!!' and he walked past at that exact time and started laughing. Then my friend goes bright red and runs up to a random 60 year old male teacher and goes, 'What the hell.. I just told Mr ---- he's beautiful,' and he gives her the weirdest look. Most embarrassing thing to experience for her omg. 0 Quote one time, lana del rey told me that I made her day~ it was awesome

Sitar 22,218 Posted October 17, 2012 Tutor related memories/experiences? Well I already wrote a hugely self-indulgent post about when I met her last week, so I'll try for something else. Recently I've been spending a lot of time trying to get my friends into Lana Del Rey--it's been kind of successful, but I discovered I get really defensive. For instance, I let "On Our Way" play in the background while me and some friends were playing board games I mean normal teenage stuff, yay booze...and at the end when she starts just singing "We're on our way" over and over and all the fans rejoice...well, my friends was just kinda like, "Yeah, you're on your way." Sarcastic, because she really does say it a lot. So I immediately snap, "IT'S CALLED EMPHASIS, LACEY." Lulz abounded, but the message is that I am not the one to be fucked with when it comes to Lana. I was just sullen for the rest of the boardgame uh, drinking. Also, in summer, I wanted to drive by the Chateau Marmont just to see it because Lana was staying there, and my friend started going on about how crappy her music was and what a terrible live performer she is and I got so heated. Happy to report this is the same friend I convinced to go to the "Ride" premiere with me and she's now a big fan
Lana Del Rey 753 Posted October 17, 2012 Erm... I was singing Blue Velvet and then 30 seconds later the advert came on? ERM Relating to getting friends to like Lana... Not very successful "Lana Del Rey is a slut!" They haven't even listened to her oh my god "Anal Dildo Slut" They refuse to listen because apparently she looks like an 'uncomfortable happy-wannabe' In music we had to create a mixtape/playlist but we couldn't have the same artists after eachother So I put Lana Del Rey - Lizzy Grant - May Jailer - I got my teacher to play National Anthem in music but it was the pitched version and then I got weird looks because everyone said it was crap and then soon after they put afroman or whatever This morning my friend asked me 'Is Lana a virgin, I think she is, but she's a slut' 'I really like your facebook cover design but it's got pictures of Lana so it's a good design, but the content is shit' One day I was called to my head of year and I was told to leave all my stuff, when I came back I realised in my work they written 'Lana del rey is a slut!' So it was like 'Obama creates a friendly rapport between him and his audience because Lana del rey is a slut!' I had to do art work on what reflected on my life, and I written Lana Del Rey sideways, and someone thought it says anal... yeah because anal reflects on my life "Do you want my h&m catalogue because I don't like it?" YES PLEASE "Why are you so obsessed with a slut" "She can't even sing" "You're gay to like her" "Her Blue Jeans performance on The Voice was shit" I love my life being around Lana haters because I can just annoy them with my Lana-knowledge, woo! 0 Quote Angel-Headed Hipster
YUNGATA 14,955 Posted October 17, 2012 "Lana Del Rey is a slut!" They haven't even listened to her oh my god "Anal Dildo Slut" God how can you deal with that from people? When people are bitching about Lana I can barely contain myself. I really have to monitor the amount of criticism I read or else I get too upset.
Lana Del Rey 753 Posted October 17, 2012 God how can you deal with that from people? When people are bitching about Lana I can barely contain myself. I really have to monitor the amount of criticism I read or else I get too upset. I try to stay calm :') They usually say it in the morning anyway(Before school actually starts), so I can just go to my other friends who don't care who Lana is, but they won't hate on her, so it's fine :') Most of the time I can cope with the hate but sometimes they go too far and I end up moving tables or something, I try to keep my temper to myself. I don't want to show any weakness... Because then they'll keep going on 0 Quote Angel-Headed Hipster
Matt 984 Posted October 17, 2012 Hmm, let me think... Well, like Sitar - I get very angry when people insult Lana. I got in a huge fight with some people that used to be my friends because they were tweeting me "Lana del ray is a dumb coke whore", "Lana del whatever is going to die next year" "Lana is ugly and sounds like a rat" and stuff like that, so I wasn't too friendly back. Also my mom makes fun of Lana 24/7 and she thinks it's weird I like her so I don't even bother going near my mom when I am on the computer, since most of my time on the computer is this website, Tumblr, or my iTunes Lana playlist. A lot of people in my school think I'm gay since I like her. I actually don't see why. Her music really has an Americana sense to it, and I don't see anything gay with it? Anyways, other Lana moments? Well, I remember the day after I first heard Carmen and bought the album Born to Die, even during class I'd sneak a headphone in and play Carmen on a loop since I thought it was so hauntingly beautiful. Also I remember when I first heard Off to the Races, I didn't know what to classify it as. "It sounds... hip-hop? I have no idea." Also for some unknown reason, the way I hear Off to the Races has dramatically changed over these past few months, when I first listened to it I remember it sounded way different then it does now, not sure why. Over the summer when I read Lolita for the first time, every 20 pages I'd smile because I spotted a reference from Off to the Races. I also remember crying when I first watched the video of Body Electric live since it was so chilling and I love it. I also remember flipping out when I first heard Dum Dum and how catchy that song is. In school I've never had a Lana memory other than people making fun of her, soo... That's pretty much it.
