What would you change about Lana's albums/eras?

More dedication to creating visual themes for each album. BTD set the bar high, and then it got worse with each album. None of her videos since BTD compare to them, and the way her videos, photography, music style, and style in person came altogether was amazing. I miss the visionary (literally, visuals) she used to be. UV definitely had a visual theme that fit the music style (the photography and her style changed), but the videos weren't that great imo.

I'm still waiting for that Dark Paradise Music Video also that unreleased original Ultraviolence music video and lets not forget Pretty When you Cry homemade music video! If she would have had released the original Ultraviolence music video then we would of had new music video material for the Honeymoon era like a different video for MTWTBT and Freak so that would mean better promo for that Era.

Music Video = New Photoshoot which also means different Album Cover.

BTD - I wouldve had her not sell LiB to lionsgate so it could be on paradise or a future album   

 

PD - I wouldve had her make a video for American

 

UV - I would've had her include I Talk To Jesus and Yes To Heaven and Fine China instead of Florida Kilos, Guns n Roses, and Black Beauty tbh. I would've prevented Lou Reed from having a heart attack   and then I would've made her give us the BB, PWYC, and WC videos.

 

HM - MORE VIDEOS!!! THE SHORT FILM WE DIDN'T GET OF HER ON A TOUR BUS. I also would've had her upload the HM vid to her official channel and I would've had her put a deluxe out with Wild One, Life Is Beautiful and some other song

 

LFL - I would've made her keep the original theme and prevented anything from it from leaking       so that BAR, Yosemite and others could all be on the record and we wouldn't be stuck with tracks like Coachella and IMF and Summer Bummer etc. 

 

LDR6 - I don't want her to take another break, especially if she's only gonna be touring on festivals and not an official tour     I want an album in 2018-19

For LFL, I wouldve just wanted a more concrete and less flexible concept and visual, it clearly changed a few times, which is why - as decently cohesive as the album is sonically, the first half seems much less important to me compared to what she said in interviews back in February to like May about the theme of the record. I would've had 3 more acoustic songs rather than Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, and In My Feelings. I think Cherry, WM, and 13 Beaches fit quite nicely on the record even if I'm not a huge fan of White Mustang. 

 

I don't have a problem with a flexible concept in general, but I feel like what was originally talked around or alluded to seemed just a bit more interesting than what we got. And I could be totally wrong, some of this is just conjecture, but I def. think a more folksy-acoustic, 60s Shangri-Las, Joan Baez inspired record would've been more cohesive then some summery bops and then the remnants of that idea. I think Coachella's creation however was bound to happen, regardless of the leaks and push up of Love because she was inspired by an event she was certainly going to go to either way. If anything, maybe the production would've been different though. In the tracklisting, it fits very well where it does sonically, even though to me It just feels weird as a light-trap inspired groove instead of an acoustic/folky mid tempo.. Maybe the production was what would make the most sense on the record at that point? Again, total conjecture here. I don't mind if I'm wrong.

Apologies for bumping this thread but there's so many things (big and small) I would change

A.K.A.: I'd add Trash Magic, all be it produced by David Kahne (or Zach Dawes if we're doing a rework for A.K.A.). I'd also add For K, Part 1 onto For K, Part 2 to make 1 big For K (produced by David Kahne or Zach Dawes if we're doing an A.K.A. rework)

The 2011 (or was it 2012?) Lana Del Rey EP: I'd add Driving In Cars With Boys, all be it a re-recording (production wise to match with BTD) by Emile Haynie with some other minor elements added as well (extra violins and those sound effects) and Hundred Dollar Bill to add 2 EP exclusive tracks.

BTD: nothing much just make This Is What Makes Us Girls faster and add the outro vocals from the demos.

Paradise: Add Burning Desire onto the main edition and maybe Angels Forever (Final) as well.

UV: release Is This Happiness & Flipside (all be it with the live production in full) on digital and physical deluxe's, NO REGIONAL TRACKS.

HM: I'm just gonna say it, Honeymoon should've had a deluxe with Come With Me and California' 14 all be it the final version of it retitled Blue Suede Shoes. Also would've loved a Salvatore single release with a radio mix and music video but that's unrealistic imo .

LFL: I would honestly either rebrand the album as a mixtape OR have a concrete cohesive tracklist. Lust For Life is very all over the place .

NFR: just do a deluxe with a polished up version of Thunder (Demo) with a synth pad similar to California (2017) in-between Happiness is a butterfly and Hope and make Doin' Time a deluxe track.

COTCC: Add Loved You Then & Now and umph up the production a tad on all the songs.

BB: Wait until March-April 2022 to release it and utilize the full potential this record has. Scrap The Trio, Dealer, Nectar Of The Gods, Cherry Blossom & Beautiful (also no Thunder since that would be on the NFR deluxe), love 3/4 of these songs But they either sonically to repetitive or sonically and lyrically don't fit. Add Watercolor Eyes all be it a version with no drums and heaver string, Lake Placid (with added heavy string) and another new song or two.

DYKTTATUOB: Remove the pastor Interlude and replace it with a more lyrically sensitive version of Zodiac or nothing at all. That's all for that one.

UV: West Coast Rob Orton mix is used on the album. Pink Champagne and Black Beauty added to standard edition. I Talk to Jesus, Your Girl replace some of the deluxe tracks 

HM: trimmed down a bit to cut the fat. Use Summertime cover as the closer instead of DLMBM

LFL: I just think this album shouldn’t have happened or should have been an EP. Maybe UV 2.0 instead 

NFR: TNBAR demo version used instead.

COCC: different cover. Better mastering. Make it more electric guitar driven.

BB: glad she officially released some older work, but I would have made the sound more cohesive.

I would only change This Is What Makes Us Girls production on the outro and fix that shitty sample because its got an extra "Hey" at the end and the reverb sounds so bad. Maybe also add the outro vocals from the demos.
