Two things that make me question if I don’t have psychic powers:

- I was a firm believer in the two singles before the show and we’re getting the second single next week although I initially thought I’d be a double release; I say it’s close enough; 

- Mercury in retrograde has ended Wednesday, which leads to better communication. For Lana, her post, I’d say it applies. 
I could say that I never believed the album would be out May 21, but that’s just common sense and psychic powers

I hope Blue Bird to be better than Henry... really, this song was kinda a bummer for me (unfortunately) as it feels like something from Blue Banisters (which I found to be quite boring)

A few thoughts on her IG video and the new developments:

 

The new title: I'm not surprised that she changed it again, lol. I was low-key expecting it? "The right person will stay" is simple and direct, but it lacks the oomph or the curiosity that surrounds most Lana album titles, even the less popular ones. "Lasso" feels way more cinematic, yes, but also too limiting and specific (and slightly predictable when it comes to playing with the country genre, too). Anyway, R.I.P. Lasso, R.I.P. The right person will stay.

 

Henry, come on: It's interesting that she mentions that the song isn't really her favourite song on the album, but kind of encapsulates the themes and overall soundscape and style of it. Like Mariners Apartment Complex and Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd, Henry, come on feels like a proper introduction to this new chapter. And judging from the critical response so far, it is performing remarkably well. Lana mentioning the demo feels very intentional, by the way. Is she reading LanaBoards? Because it almost feels like shade to all those insiders who had only gotten access to the early version of the track, lol. I love her process, though. And, yeah, Erickson did a wonderful job with the instrumentals.

 

The album release date: It's pretty obvious that the November post about "The right person will stay" (13 tracks, to be released on May 21) was another lie, lol. Every time she isn't active on social media, she usually writes or records stuff, so I wonder if she has been in a very creative process during the last 5 months - didn't she say that she basically recorded the vast majority of the Ocean Blvd tracks in a period of 6 months? -, she found her muse, shifted the album's direction, and finally got what she was looking for all this time. She seems very very excited and happy about the album - a far cry from her disappointment during the COCC era or her defeatism during the BB era or even her slight uncertainty about DYKTTATUOB's critical reception. She said that she's very happy for the album "moving along", so I guess she means that it must be finished, right? She's happy that the era has finally started. Or at least this how I prefer to interpret her words, because if she's still working on it, we aren't getting it before October. Assuming the album is officially mastered or close to being mastered, a late July-late August timeframe is absolutely doable.

 

Bluebird: Now, this is a very straight-forward and simple title, but it's also very evocative and poetic. I'm very curious about the lyrics - it could be a Bluebird Café reference or something metaphorical. This release reminds me of the Mariners Apartment Complex / Venice Bitch release; I wonder if the "hey" in the final moments of "Henry, come on" is a transition to "Bluebird". I guess that this one might have a more country flair, but we'll see. I'm excited! Hopefully it'll take everyone's breath away, and Pitchfork won't be able to resist naming this Best New Track merely a week after "Henry, come on". Bring it on, Lana!
