It's been 10 years since I first saw it and I was SO unprepared for what I was going to see. I was discovering Björk then and I just thought, "Oh! Björk was in a movie! Must watch." I'm pretty sure it had a huge bearing on my current taste in films.

That movie deeply scarred me when I was 12 years old. Needless to say, I became a huge Lars von Trier fan. Just watched When You're Strange, amazing Doors documentary.

I love him so, so much. Once I got into House of Balloons, I never looked back. I'm so mad that the Aaliyah sample is gone from the Trilogy version "What You Need." Björk - Enjoy

^Sooo excited for you, Nadia! I do like Sleigh Bells, but I don't think they're at all like CC. From the beginning, I grouped Sleigh Bells in with the new quirky lo-fi scene that was happening around the time their debut came out (Tune-Yards and Micachu), but I think their sound has definitely evolved since then. I do kind of miss the rawness.

This performance: Such a huge deviation from the original version, tons of improvisation, intense. Basically everything I love about her in a nutshell.

Flaubert was such a genius. <3 I've been reading more and more in French lately. It takes me a bit longer, of course, but I just love French literary language. I got a couple of contemporary novellas, which I will soon get around to reading. I saw the English translation of one of them in a bookstore, but I was happy to have spent the extra cash to have the original imported.

Lolita is one of my favorite novels ever! I loved Madame Bovary. I had to read it in its entirety in the original French for a French literature class.

Ridin'. I'm trying to make a "bad bitch" Lana playlist, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what I want to put on it.
