  1. exactly, that’s why it’s likely a relationship that we don’t know about. i don’t think it’s about the pig, there’s no way he could’ve cheated on his fiancé with lana because their first date ever was photographed by the paps. i guess like fishtails insinuated, maybe they continued hooking up after they broke up, but i doubt it; they split february 2020 and black bathing suit was written in march 2020. doesn’t seem like they were on the best terms
  2. i feel like maybe the song is about a relationship we don’t know about. because fr, how do you cheat on your fiancé with lana del rey? the headlines would be out there immediately, it had to have been kept under wraps
  3. no way y’all were fighting for hours about ADAM LAMBERT to the point that Elle had to intervene on a saturday morning too
  4. why do i have a feeling this is gonna be another cassette girl esque situation; the most random person ever is gonna find the vinyl in a store on the 10th, but they’re not gonna know how to rip a vinyl, so we’re going to have the worst quality files ever
  5. regardless, there has to be some indie record store somewhere in the world with the most outdated computer system ever that never updated when the release date changed, and considering that JB-Hi Fi was originally supposed to get the shipment in last week (still 3 weeks before the first release date), many retailers will likely have the physical copies in their hands on March 10th. it takes one store who didn’t get the memo
  6. i actually really hope lana doesn’t kill the concept of making an album title the whole track list, it’s camp and if you get it you get it
  7. anyways i wonder if Burn Me Where You Belong was one of the original song titles on the album
  8. LDR10 should be called I’m simply not the artist for some of you anymore - if you don’t respect the woman I’ve become then go listen to someone else
  9. i just think it’s interesting that people call lana’s more recent writing topics “not relatable” and therefore trash the songs because of it, because personally i don’t relate to songs about snorting coke off the bathroom counter with my 50 year old sugar daddy at the chateau marmont, but i still love born to die
  10. i would be lying if i said i haven’t done this multiple times
  11. that same woman absolutely hates that lana is an artist and wanted her to be a doctor instead
  12. i think Margaret is going to be one of my favorites, but i also think it’s funny how this is the second time one of Jack’s collaborators has written about his relationship thinking about how You Are in Love by Taylor is about him and L*na D*nham. the girls are airing his shit OUT
  13. and just like… just the whole point of Blue Banisters (song) is doing all of the normal and domestic things with your friends and family instead of men, and how even if men try to convince you that you’re too much for them, you’ll never be too much for the women that actually love and respect you for who and what you are. if you get it you get it!! very excited to see the other stories she illustrates on Ocean Blvd, especially with Fingertips. such good insight from this interview
  14. you forgot how after Jenny jumped into the pool, her and Lana had a conversation about how difficult it is to love an artist, and how no man follows through on his words and leaves anyway because it’s too much. which Lana illustrates and describes in 1 verse and 1 chorus
  15. it’s exhausting her writing these last few years has been so much more mature and layered and sustainable. i really just don’t think lana is the artist for some fans anymore and it’s a hard pill to swallow
  16. wow, very shocked at the reaction to this, i thought it was great! very insightful on how her creative process has changed, i enjoyed reading about her relationship with jack. i’ll take intimate lyrics about her family and what’s made her who she is over “kiss me in the d-a-r-k dark toniiiiight” this is really gonna be her best album Fingertips song of the century
  17. this is a great album; imo the quality kind of dips right in the middle with I Should Hate You, Will You Cry, and Amelie, but picks up again towards the end. also for some reason i like Difficult less in the context of the whole record than i did as a single, i kinda think it should’ve been the opening track, because it’s definitely a highlight but gets a little lost within everything else. the last 3 tracks + Best and Difficult are my favorites for sure
  18. omg very glad to see this thread is hot… Right Now SOTY!!
  19. idk i mean the end is great, the whole song is, it’s just… not innovative at all. which isn’t inherently a bad thing whatsoever! like i said the song is amazing!! something doesn’t need to be trailblazing to be great (obviously), but the direction lana’s been going in these last few years is simply more interesting and unique than A&W is, which makes the song a great single, but not a standout for me at this point in her career. i guess i’m just a sucker for the weirder more abstract stuff
  20. i’m not being contrarian i just simply think lana has more interesting songs sonically… frankly idc about the fun 808s at this point in her career and i’ve learned to look to other artists to expect that from, it’s absolutely amazing lyrically but musically i would like something more interesting a-la Black Bathing Suit, and it seems we’re getting a lot of that on the album as well. if i were contrarian then i wouldn’t be an Ultraviolence stan lmfao.
  21. Don’t get me wrong A&W is a great song but it’s already being painfully overrated in the same way Cinnamon Girl was the pop fans got excited to hear some synths and got ahead of themselves, the songs are amazing but don’t really touch lana‘s actual best work. I think there are a lot of songs on Ocean Blvd that I will enjoy a little more than A&W. but it’s a wonderful single
  22. The whole Halsey thing is just tired at this point; it was a relevant discussion maybe 6 years ago but it’s not worth it anymore. Halsey was raised on Tumblr, literally, her first ever online exposure was for a Taylor Swift diss track that went viral in the 1D-tumblr-sphere. And Sky was inescapable on Tumblr at the same time, so Sky’s whole aesthetic definitely had an influence on Halsey at the time. But since then, Halsey has developed their artistry to new levels and is going to be 30 years old next year… very different than the chronically online 19 year old that made Badlands lmao. Halsey was just following trends early in her career tbh… and it did get her a lot of commercial success and creative freedom now Even with the shady messages, H likely knows so much more about the situation than we ever have anyway. I can’t believe this is still a discussion, and that Sky and people close to her are holding a grudge about it nearly a decade later. I get the frustration with how Capitol screwed Sky over and marketed Halsey how Sky was supposed to be marketed, but that’s more of an issue with Capitol than H and shouldn’t be taken out on her in 2023
