  1. why does Caroline sound like Danielle Haim on Too Good to Be True lmfaooo especially at the beginning
  2. ik vinyl is taking forever obviously but why would they announce it in the first place so early like he’s a pop girl about to do a bunch of tv appearances and release 3 singles lmfaooo it’s just silly
  3. Also what does this man need a 4 month rollout for 😭😭😭
  4. based on the Flo by RIOPY interpolation and the credits (especially the saxophone), i feel like Grandfather is going to be a really cute mix of like White Dress and Terrence Loves You. the melody of Flo is so satisfyingly cohesive with A&W as well
  5. i really think i am going to thoroughly enjoy every song on this album, even the interludes, which i’ve never felt before a lana album release and she has yet to put out an album with a few tracks i don’t like. i think the only song that might not immediately click with me is Fishtail for some reason lmao, but watch it be my favorite
  6. i am once again saying this but just because a song has electric guitar in the credits does not mean it will be giving Ultraviolence like people assume for whatever reason
  7. the fact that In the Dying Light of Day also features Dan Heath omg this is actually kind of an exciting thing in terms of Lana, means they still must be close
  8. the way Jack Antonoff probably charges $100,000 per song normally but obviously had to bend for Mr. Rob… NEPODADDY!!!
  9. caroline had to give pinkpantheress the boot because pinkpantheress ate her up on her own song
  10. everything from today has been restocked in the US store! now i have to stop myself from buying the racing jacket ah…
  11. i actually think this might be the case because he was in jack’s studio, and now we know he isn’t on lana’s album because he’s not in the credits. i can’t remember what it was but i also remember something happening a few months back that made me think rob might’ve signed to interscope too 😭 nepodaddy indeed
  12. for my OGD (Obsessive Gatekeeping Disorder) i wish i had more evidence of my early stanning but unfortunately this screenshot timestamp is all i’ve got
  13. this was exactly me except with Michelle Pfeiffer; like i had known she was talented and i liked Head in the Wall, Knuckle Velvet, and Growing Pains. but when Michelle Pfeiffer came out i was like oh shit this girl is FOR REAL… and Crush proved that further for me… and Unpunishable proved that even further… and then by the time the entire Inbred EP came out i was hooked
  14. i love describing hayden’s music as cinematic because, like a movie, it’s not meant to always be particularly enjoyable or easy all the time—it’s supposed to make you feel something. you don’t say a horror film is bad because it scared you. i think anyone who completely throws the stuff that makes them uncomfortable aside is doing a great injustice to her artistry, while also proving that what she’s doing is effective
  15. when other people have come into this thread just to say “i don’t like her, she scares me” like… that’s the point!!! none of this art is easy listening or meant to make you feel comfortable
  16. Not even going to mention the disgrace done to God’s Country but girl Inbred… INBRED!!! while not her best it’s my favorite song of hers, it’s supposed to make you feel nasty and scared and gross. i guess it did its job correctly
  17. i just think it’s interesting and says a lot how nobody here can have an adult conversation about it and instead immediately gets defensive and starts spewing out insults at others who are concerned about this! you’re lucky this is the only time i’ve ever mentioned it in this thread because trust me i want to every time i see it on the forums index, and it’s a necessary conversation to have because this is a big thing. also “what we chose to do together” is melanie’s own assumption, idk about anyone else but every time i’ve ever been intimate with people we have both verbally said “yes”. if you think it’s necessary for rape allegations to be settled in court, then i would recommend doing some light reading and looking at the statistics for how many cases are dismissed, how difficult it is to provide evidence apart from they-said they-said, how expensive it is, and also just empathizing that maybe people don’t want to relive a trauma like that
  18. i just don’t understand how people still let her get away with this; it’s not just petty stan drama like fans make it seem when they pull the “you don’t support real victims” card (fuck you), it’s serious stuff and people should not be looking up to her. the only proof i’ve seen of false allegation, which is what everyone runs with, is that timothy got the dates wrong (normal for people struggling from ptsd), and that timothy has bpd so she made it up (extremely harmful and ableist). melanie themself saying “she never said no” raises so many more red flags, but also confirms that these two were intimate at one point or another, where there should’ve been clear consent. i know this has all been said before, but i really want to crack the minds and moral standing of the concerning amount of people who continue to ride or die for this person. i don’t believe in separating the art from the artist in situations like these, but even if i did, i still wouldn’t think it’s right to continue to provide her with a platform
  19. so y’all just really just swept those accusations (which were never proven false) under the rug huh
  20. thank god the racing jacket sold out in my size before i saw this… i probably would’ve bought as a novelty but never worn it ever considering i would be too embarrassed to wear it public, and it would’ve collected dust in my closet forever
  21. this woman’s work ethic really is insane like, they’re amazing songs too! AND she’s toured quite a bit in the last decade as well. idk how she consistently stays so creative, it’s actually kind of a miracle. the only other artist of our time i can think of that puts out such quality content as prolifically as Lana is Adrianne Lenker whose put out 11 amazing albums since 2014
  22. people call lana lazy and shit on her for doing minimal promotion like she’s not about to release her 10th album in 11 years, 8 of which have 14+ tracks, and she’s probably simultaneously working on 3 more as we speak
  23. UPDATE Lana’s album title has been changed on iTunes, it seems like the album is now called The Grants Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd Sweet A&W Judah Smith Interlude Candy Necklace Jon Batiste Interlude Kingsugi Fingertips Paris Texas Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he’s deep sea fishing Let the Light In Margaret Fishtail Peppers Taco Truck x VB
