the lack of high end on her vocals is stylistic and intentional, it’s not “bad” at all it’s just not your taste. jack and his team have all the resources in the world, if something wasn’t on purpose then it wouldn’t end up on the final product. and this style of vocal mixing really isn’t anything new or different at all either outside of the landscape of post-2000 pop music

I love Zane Lowe, i don’t think he’s corny at all. Artists always seem to feel very safe around him and they open up in ways that I haven’t seen them open up before, would love to see Lana chat with him. honestly can’t think of another interviewer that consistently gets so much of artists when they really sit down with them

Music (& stuff) people like that you tried to get into, but can’t

Kate Bush besides a select few songs I respect her artistry so much and I don’t know why I haven’t been able to, I’ve been trying to like her for over half a decade at this point. I love a lot of artists that she shares fans with like Tori Amos, Björk, Fiona Apple, etc etc but I can’t get into Kate for some reason. I think maybe her voice is just too like, theatrical and dramatic for my taste -
just think it’s a silly and shallow thing to care very much about when lana doesn’t care about it at all herself. and because she’s already as famous as she’s gonna get, like there’s nobody in her target demographic that doesn’t know who she is. what does it matter if she has another hit hit, tiktok just chews music up and spits it out anyway; songs that trend on that app aren’t treated like art, they can leave A&W alone even though we all know they won’t
-
now that the album is only like 5 weeks away and A&W is coming in a few days, i really don’t think a third single is necessary at all and if so it’s gonna be kind of overkill… I would’ve loved a third single if A&W came out last month but there’s really no reason for another one this far into the album cycle and considering how long we already waited for the second one, the damage is already done per se 😭

she played the whole album live tonight, there are videos all over twitter it sounds so good

this brought me back i forgot these existed lmfao, these were the funniest things ever to me in like 2016. the one with lorde -
guys i just talked with lana on the phone and she said that if she decides to tour Ocean Blvd, everyone has the right to spit on the tiktok stans at the shows. she ordered me to “just keep spitting on them until they’re soaked, get the whole crowd to do it until they all look like they just showered in their clothes”

do we know he’s singing? tbh i kind of just assumed his music would be classical piano stuff not me in the rob grant thread all “DO WE KNOW HE’S SINGING??” i need to go to bed
-
i really don’t think he’s kidding lmao this makes a lot of sense, rob’s been making a ton of music and it’s clearly not for lana considering he doesn’t have any credits on OB. he’s coming!

i’ve said it before i’ll say it again, there is no way in hell any music would come out any time between 12:01am EST Friday and 11:59pm EST on Sunday, it’s such a bad and pointless move that no major label is dumb enough to make unless it’s Taylor Swift who‘s Taylor Swift the music industry week for all of the US no matter the time zone resets on Friday at midnight EST, so if any music is released after that time, then it won’t end up on playlists until next Friday; it makes no logical sense to give the song such a streaming disadvantage just to release it 8 hours later and labels would simply not allow it. there’s nothing coming until Monday at the earliest

nobody’s mentioned this yet but last night hayden uploaded a new version of two children in a motel to soundcloud with some additional production than the version that was already out there!

i’ve been saying this since a month after Blue Banisters came out, i have the gut feeling that this album is going to be Lana’s true magnum opus, like the essential Lana album that people talk about and reference first when discussing her artistry and impact in 50 years. idk why I think this especially because i haven’t been the biggest fan of her more recent work but I just have the feeling and no i’m not one of those people who says that about every album

IM ROTF 😭😭😭😭😭
