June Gloom

i'm only halfway through but there's so much dark colors under the surface here. i love how, almost eerie make up sounds with those chimes in the background. feels intentionally off in the best way. defs feels a lot more cohesive and less all over the place than sweetener, but sweetener as standalone songs had a lot of good in it. my only real complaint with the project as a whole is that the choruses feel a little repetitive? like it's not a dealbreaker but it's something i keep noticing. reminder tho that bloodline is THAT bitch edit: oh fuck ghostin... been waiting for a song like this from her for a little bit now. edit 2: those vocal leaps in the pre-chorus AND THE CHORUS HOLY SHIT okay yeah this feels a bit weird amongst the rest so far but i'm not arguing edit 3: i liked 7 rings but i think it fits so much tighter here. the sparsity of the instrumental constrats really well with in my head imo! oh shit forgot to make a post-listening edit uh i didn't really get the hype for break up, but i definitely liked the project a lot. gonna be spinning it for a while until i can form stronger or more consistent opinions on it while i wait for my casette/cd to arrive (hopefully they don't actually take 5 weeks )

by any chance can i get All the Time, Slow it Down and Can't Do Better? checked the masterpost from a while back and they weren't in there

album cover shouldn't have had that vignette thing over it cuz otherwise it'd be fine. jumped on a cd and the exclusive uv casette cuz i love the green aesthetic. a little sad come out and play won't be on it but bury a friend is amazing. do y'all think we're gonna get one more single before the album? if so, which song?

what's the general opinion around here on Pageant Material as an album? i absolutely LOVE like half of it (late to the party, pageant material, die fun, miserable, family is family, fine/are you sure) but the other half just doesn't catch me as much.

rather than ask for a community copy, i emailed support since they gave me the SS one last time no problem, ... plus i really want those image files if they come with it (for whatever reason) so question, yall. do we think we're going to get cx3 next year? or was super sunset essentially our cx3? like i remember her newsletter at the top of the year about "collxtion iii in 2018" and then obviously super sunset hit the scene. but, considering how much she seems to be in the studio, are we sure that all of that went into super sunset? i personally kinda hope for another album cycle next year (hopefully a little earlier in the year too) but what do yall think?

i have to wonder how much is still in people's hands. it seems every time we get "finished" with leaks, something else finds its way into someone's possessions. onto the new songs: all i want is to be with you ... she tried. when are these songs from? deconstruct your heart sounds super good tbh. holy shit actually this is a great song. defs sounds like science a bit altho that just may be the groove it's in. OH HEY THIS IS THAT "TEACH YOU HOW TO LOVE" SONG. champagne and saint germain... this one defs feels incomplete but like this melody is super fun... until that chorus hits. i love the garage teas. this drop is fun and defs would make sense for someone that, isn't allie. overall these are cool to have! wonder if there are any more xmas surprises coming still.

i'm surprised at how well his albums hold up. like i went into bloom expecting to be moderately whelmed (my my my! was good but not great imo, and the title track was hit or miss depending on my mood) but honestly? while bloom isn't as atmospheric as blue neighborhood, i'm getting a lot more plays out of it than i expected to. my trinity as of right now is: this this, running shoes, the good side

honestly seeing her speak regardless of her stance is a nice way to finally affirm/deconfirm my stanning. i've been spinning reputation (+1989 and red, working on the rest) since release but was afraid to fully commit to stanning in case something went out of control. glad to see her taking a stand! anyways Dancing With Our Hands Tied is the best song on reputation!

do yall ever think about the sheer number of unreleased tracks and potential b sides she could have had for every album? like sometimes i remember how vast her discography is and how little we have for some eras (justice for lionsong radio edit) and just remember there are probably so many songs that were drafted or worked on but didn't work out- we need another family tree/greatest hits esque thing to show us some demos and unreleased songs ugh

i love the truth! honestly if that "deluxe" version of cx2 was real then i wish a 2.0 version had made it onto it alongside TMTD (and Alexandra/Misbelieving but ... eh the first 2 won) hopefully Little Things drops soon

album is pretty good so far. grabbed a target copy but a lot of stores seemed to only have a few. most sold out before i even got there (like they had 8 copies according to the clerk at the first store... that's fun) what a heavenly way to die + lucky strike are SO GOOD holy shit. i also really like this this but that's just me. purple cover also looks leagues better on my shelf imo. what songs were confirmed to be cut from bloom?
