  1. honestly the phrasing "calling from beyond the grave" always struck me as particularly pointed. i can't quite discern the meaning but i've always wondered- could it be that she's talking about how fame has killed her (figuratively, like the "real" lana), and that the persona only remains? or perhaps even that the "real" her died with the addiction and that the version of herself that's left is merely just a celebrity with no real person underneath? this line fascinates me so much i wanna know the intended meaning so bad oh and this is still one of her best songs. so much vivid imagery packed into something so sparce and yet so emotive. top 5 lana songs ever
  2. literally someone leak her album already it's been years
  3. thought this was discussed a page or two back that these are vocals from a recent performance and thus not real, if im wrong correct me tho

    Grimes

honestly a Before the Fever video with the visual style of So Heavy would be amazing
  5. i'm so glad someone else is finally calling out how life is strange is probably her weakest track ever like "i've met so many boys and girls, people all across the world" girl you wrote TFJ you can write better than this... like i'm one of the few that loved a lot of l+f but like this song is NOT it.

i'm praying her posting the making of Susie Save Your Love means we're gonna get unique single covers and background stories for the rest of the non-singles, like with Pang

    Grimes

i honestly can't hear any personally! i'll check Before the Fever for you as i'm typing this but overall it sounds super similar if not identical okay listening now and nothing stands out. vocals might have been slightly louder but overall the mix sounds the same. pulled them both up in audacity and just kept bouncing between them and i couldn't hear a difference. top is cd rip (mp3 320) and bottom is the "mixed and mastered" leak

i feel like this is a weird comparison considering 5/6 (disincluding the intro and interlude) songs were released before the EP was out

    Grimes

perhaps this is a hot take but i don't get this tracklist ordering at all like whoever put So Heavy first needs to be demoted, my unmastered album came with the order having Delete Forever first and i think it works way better? either way something is up with the flow on this thing

manifesting that we get her next record at the end of this year or very early next year, i need more bjork in my life again

apologies if this has been posted before, but i was snooping on dbree and found this? "dutch intro" i hadn't heard it before and was wondering if we know anything about it- is this the actual double dutch or whatever it was called LMAO
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX9oc6Yfp-E she sounded pretty good for what it's worth! a little scratchy but she still slayed

first of all, Devil I Know is out now! go stream. second of all, i noticed a trend with the covers. assuming my proposed schedule is true, then the covers themselves tell a story! Fresh Laundry is set in a house Regulars has her leave said house (it's a church here but like you get the idea) Rings a Bell has her go even further so far that she... Love Me Wrong finds a creek that presumably leads to Devil I Know's cave, upon which she enters into Cape God if u find this take it as a Gift oh and one more tidbit, apparently they changed the feature notation on the single covers because the leaked version of Love Me Wrong from Shazam had an X on the cover - i presume this was due to it looking messy (Allie X x Troye Sivan does admittedly look clunkier) but found it worth pointing out so!
  17. we need the early versions of Cash Race, her best song

hey not to pop in here again BUT i noticed something- on all the Cape God single covers (and the album cover) we have (with Devil I Know confirming it) seemingly a planned release strategy: Fig. 1 - Cape God (makes sense, revealed later obviously but it's the album so it comes first) Fig. 2 - Fresh Laundry (first- for lack of a better term- "promo track") Fig. 3 - Regulars (third) Fig. 4 - Rings a Bell (second) Fig. 5 - Love Me Wrong (fourth) Fig. 6 - Devil I Know (fifth, "lead single") note that the bold ones are out of order, is it possible Regulars was delayed to (presumably) finish its video? i can't think of any other reason to break the order

for those unaware she has a feature on Allie X's new album, called Susie Save Your Love! it'll be out with the rest of the album in February

anyways shouldn't Devil I Know be coming out soon? i'm betting on the 24th
  21. you really articulated this incredibly well, like ESPECIALLY Oh Say (which is one of her best, and critically underrated) and PSB embody a unique kind of loneliness and wistfulness that's downright captivating. her emotions and experiences are earnest on this record in a way i love to hear from her, it's presented with a naive kinda luster rather than the glamour or cinematic presentation of her other records. i personally find myself listening to a lot of AKA more than her other work and i think this is why? like i group it more with some of the albums by indie girls (frankie cosmos stuff esp with the everyday struggles, artists like haley heyndrickx, anna burch, julia jacklin, etc.) cuz it hits similar beats yet it has this amateurish poise and fun to it most of them don't? like i could never see them releasing a song like brite lites or mermaid motel, and i think that's part of her charm on this record in a way few others achieved or even tried. (that being said if any of y'all got reccs for albums like this, hmu)
  22. i have no idea if this is actually an unpopular opinion but When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing is so good? it's one of the few songs on LFL i feel compelled to actually come back to nowadays
  23. yeah honestly that's messed up, did you check your spam folder or something? don't know if it'd be there but either way sorry sis
