Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
June Gloom replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
the way i manifested all this genuine discussion with a low effort post... maybe i went off BUT honestly i've always adored it, it's probably my most played song in her discography. i can't even imagine why California would be brought up in comparison besides the fact they're on the same album- like i barely see any similarities between them? i'd rather compare it to like Change or something but even then they both have their own qualities and i still prefer Hope! the bottom-of-the-well feeling is pretty spot on. for me it manages to create something so cinematic with something so sparce, her vocals, at least to me, really shine here. there's so much lyrical symbolism and imagery here that i wish we'd see more of from her? it's so cryptic yet it feels like the most she's revealed yet which i love. also the high notes, that's all. edit: honestly it kinda embodies what i love about NFR so much. like a lot of the songs that get dragged on a lot (Love Song- altho not as much as others obviously, How to Disappear, Hope) all manage to do a lot with a little for me in a way that just makes them enjoyable to listen to? don't get me wrong i adore The Greatest and Venice Bitch too but like there's something special about lana's more sparce tracks in a way i feel i haven't seen enough of since AKA with like Pawn Shop Blues or Oh Say Can You See, altho they still aren't truly comparable. (oh and i know HTD is a bit more produced than most like it but i still think it works) -

reminder that Hope is still a masterpiece and has been all this time -
night crawling leaked. how many more leaks are we gonna get before her team does something
-
i think this is honestly kind of the perfect time to get a June Gloom video or even Super Duper with like a lo-fi party vibe? praying she posts the other songs' covers + making of's as well

finally put froot back on rotation after not having it on like Actively since like, 2017 (i've listened to it in the meanwhile ofc just not a lot) and like wow i forgot how good it is? like so many of the tracks (forget, solitaire, immortal have been my Trinity of sorts) are so fucking good. feeling bad for not giving it the like Caring Listen it deserved back when i first found her
-
so did she just forget about inha on streaming or did it get swept under the rug
-
the whole project is really good on first listen but i finally understand (and c2.0) is so fucking fantastic, cant believe it isnt beloved
-
still thinking about the metal album she scrapped because We Do Need It
-
honestly i love how it sounds but i have a feeling it's a demo, that kick feels a bit overpowering and some of the vocals feel like they could slight bit of polish
-
y'all tasteless this is great, such a vibe
-
someone on reddit was claiming an untitled song off side b leaked but i can't find anything, what's up w it?
-
titanic also leaked 4 early mixes of I Disagree songs a little while ago (first mentioned in that recent document exposing Titanic- Bloodmoney, Sick of the Sun, I Disagree and Bite Your Teeth) but they're literally just like unpolished mixes, not actual demos or anything. i think only one of them had any actual differences and it was just a lack of vocal harmonies? completely pointless at the end of the day- also the pokemon cover slaps
-
despite what 24/7 told me, i actually doubt this exists just because it'd be such easy leak bait considering how well liked this song is (at least for the most part?) if someone had it we'd probs have a snippet or two plus most of the info 24/7 was telling people was fake anyways but i digress
-
i am definitely one of the people LMAO i wish it'd leak already cuz like, comparatively it's so minor compared to the rest of the leaks people want. that user in here who claims to have it please come forward honestly the fact it is apparently demo 1 (or whatever demo count it was) compared to the final makes me wonder how intended for CX2 it was. imagine a whole ep (or album!) like stranger, simon says, offering... i would have died
-
one day we will get jabberwocky studio. i am manifesting this energy into the world bc i have waited too long for this song no one else cares about OH also leak simon says/lifted demos now
-
oh boy a new leak, honestly i've been wondering where the leaks for her were considering how much some people were saying they had. hopefully this signals the beginning of a new leak era
-
honestly the fact that she did the original cover at the same time as the superstar lyric video should tell us how rushed and thrown together it was. like even the cover is so basic like black and white really?? literally why it only made the jokes about the album being bland easier
-
yeah this like even disregarding the album itself the era was dead on arrival like remember when people were trying to organize fan support for karma as a single? and the video for the acoustic one being synced up to the original track instead? hell even INHA on streaming still hasnt happened- hopefully her new manager is better
-
not to bump this thread but where would y'all put the Nashe outtakes/leaks on the SFY tracklist? (Throw a Fit, Like I Used To, Grip, & Fashion Nova) i feel Throw a Fit is the hardest one to place properly
-
kansas (remembers me now) is so underrated actually like combining haunting classic country with that crunchy distortion makes it even more unique. love him
-
akasaka sad -> paradisin -> love me 4 me -> bad friend -> fuck this world... she might've served one of the best runs of songs ever
-
someone please get haxan cloak to work on her next project again i need another history of touches level masterpiece
-
orange trees, true, superstar, no more suckers, and karma aka the 5 songs on the album that didn't really need it/nobody wanted LMAO
