Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread
June Gloom replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
YES A CASSETTE got it and the cd - was hoping for a signed cd but you know what, it's chill. the prices are a bit high tho. -
they officially released the whole album's stems - available here !!
-
i wish she had revealed what track # door was- otherwise this is great news! ocean of tears is on another level
-
the one i have matches that so i guess not. i've never seen one longer
-
praying this album actually comes out THIS YEAR instead of like february next year considering how long some artists' promo cycles are
-
her fan wiki mentions "It was mentioned on a Instagram live listening party that part of Can't Stop Now was cut by publishing." so i guess that makes sense. wonder what prompted them getting removed, just being unnecessary? lyrics are as follows for those curious: "My eyes look sad I asked them why They said I'm getting tired I told them it'd be fine It's hard to be honest When you wanna cry" / on a different topic, i just remembered Too Much to Dream exists and i'm still so sad it got paid dust, like i guess i'm happy it got a single release but! considering how little That's So Us changed going into CX2, why bother including it/working on a "new version" instead of TMTD? also justice for the unsolved acoustic demos
-
hand crushed by a mallet is probably my fav nowadays. there's something so alluring about the lyrics, i wanna know more about it so bad.
-
i honestly wonder what door is about at its core- some of the lyrics almost sound like they allude to chairlift but i feel like it's missing some context to make it click. she better drop the full album this year because door is incredible
-
stupid horse is genuinely fantastic. been listening to their record a decent bit and i'm surprised how much it's grown on me.
-
GOD okay this is the one thing we actually need. do we have any info on it beyond the fact it existed or?
-
funnily enough i asked the leaker who leaked the recent collection of lana tracks (wildsycamore) about her and they said they had unleaked noonie but they had no plans to leak it. that one user who had insider info on her, where are you when we need you?
-
this better smash because it is so deserved. so infectious and fun to sing along too honestly!
-
somehow Too Afraid, Karma and Emotional Machine have been the ones i've listened to most despite them probably being the songs i was least excited for. the only song i still don't like is Life is Strange (which, imo, should've been traded for Please Don't Call Me)
-
in the middle of writing a pop debut atm but i have a big backlog of instrumental work both on soundcloud and bandcamp (a lot more is on bandcamp)
-
this BETTER get a release somehow like shit i'm excited
-
samaritan remains that bitch as far as her ionnalee stuff goes. liking the new record's material tho- as for her iamamiwhoami works, should one just watch all the videos in their upload order and listen to the albums as they come? i enjoyed blue and planned on getting her others but don't quite know what to do regarding the youtube videos.

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread

i mean if you're being literal she does, but i don't know if she could sustain it as well as b does. thematically/stylistically i think lana could do an interpretation that stood out from the original in a way i kinda crave from it. honestly if we're talking post i think army of me could also be kinda fun if it was more stylized like UV but i feel like she'd lower the pitch -

ok for real i'd enjoy a lana cover of stonemilker so like can she get on it? talent supporting talent -
been looping the mv and it's definitely grown on me- it can be a bit grating and i have a feeling it'll be my least played when the full album comes out but for what it is? it's fun, carefree and downright silly which GOD has pop music needed recently.

caved and just purchased all the fear songs instead of waiting on my cd to ship in 3 decades i don't know why but believe in love reminds me of chairlift and i'm HERE for it. life is strange is disappointing on first listen but it'll probs grow on me you sounds heavenly thus far... are y'all out of your mind? omg this chorus is so much less, generic- that being said i wanna hear the original now karma is so chill i'm really enjoying this one - definitely interested in this demo too. emotional machine's drums sound SO much better than the live version. thank god it doesn't sound so ghastly here too afraid's chorus definitely elevated what i thought was gonna be a rather basic song. i can see this being a good song for travel (ironically) her vocal inflection on no more suckers is weird, not bad, but is confusing me. chorus is pretty predictable and i don't know if i am as into it as others- reminds me of the chorus to handmade heaven but like, more grating? idk. hope this one grows on me. verse 2 of soft to be strong introducing those drums brings the track up imo. really appreciating how, idk, cohesive this is? like idk the whole thing almost sounds suspended in air and i appreciate the consistency here. chorus 2 definitely is leagues better than the first one. i don't know about this being a closer but it's quite sweet- love the weird glitchy vocals in the background of the bridge too! overall? probably top 5 of the year at the moment. 16 tracks of which i am not totally in love with 3, and those 3 are still good! definitely wanna spend more time with this and i hope the era gets a decent bit of promotion via videos and all that.

does she have any studio unreleased or is it all just live stuff?
-
not to bump this old thread but i noticed that the site Taylor's Inner Circle (best known for their Taylor Swift collection) has a section on her that lists a ton of content including a lot of Golden Hour demos- do we have any information on them at all or are they just a mystery? (the page in question to save you time)
-
i'm honestly there with you! i don't care about stupid drama* as long as the musics good- she better pull through for cx3 tho *read: not absolutely awful shit
-
ohh this. i don't think the original tweet is necessarily a problem since i take it more jokingly/lightly than dead serious but her followup....... clowny
