Apparently, Eclipse has some info on Avril's new single: And Avril tweeted this picture: Their tweets seem related!
  4. Wow, two incredibly insensitive things to say. Not funny at all

    Orchids! Favourite holiday destination?
  6. Yes, agreed! But the more we agree with each other, the crazier it gets haha. I think I'm going to have to put Honeymoon away for a bit for now
  7. I don't even know anymore lmao. I think we took it too far Edit: Maybe it's just another metaphor for timelessness. "...by cutting a slit in the disk and passing another part of the disk through the slit." This seems to create the shape of an eternity symbol in a three-dimensional space? ∞
  8. Good observation! I've listened to some of the performances and I think I must agree with you. I don't think it's either one or the other, as she sometimes uses different lyrics when she performs her songs live. I see it as a bonus insight lol. I think this is true. I feel that I'm possibly taking it a bit too far, but maybe "Blue Ribbons in knots" could refer to both Pabst Blue Ribbon and this mathematical theory about ribbon knots. I mean, she speaks of trigonometry in TBD...
  9. I was being a little cryptic there myself with my colourful quotation lmao . Not sure if anyone noticed I did that because blue and pink are the colours she mentions in the song (male vs female?)
  10. Lmao! I literally saved that post on my computer a while ago in a word file . I thought it was brilliant! Thank you! @IanadeIrey
  11. I think it was intentional... The black and white filter, I mean. But yeah, I agree
  12. Timelessness is such a key word imo for this record. Which is indicated (obviously) by Burnt Norton (the entire poem is incredible tbh) being at the exact centre of the record at the still point on which the entire record literaly revolves around. There are seven tracks before Burnt Norton and six tracks after. I think it's safe to say that we can exclude the first track, because it is special in terms of tracklist structure. She said in Rollingstone about Honeymoon (the song) that "In some ways I feel it's where the record begins and ends." So you can either play it at the beginning of the record or at the end, it doesn't really matter in that sense!
  13. Thank you for reading my posts and sharing your thoughts as well! I'm still not sure what the actual story is that's being told, but I hope that this different perspective might give us new insights to talk about.
  14. Ok so, I have this theory about MTWBT... I really wanted to share my thoughts with y'all and see if you guys have anything to add or have good reasons to dismiss my theory. There's a TL;DR at the end of my post for those who don't like to read so much. But here it goes: I tried to decipher what the actual story is that's being told by analysing the personal pronouns. Like, who is the speaker and what is the speaker trying to say? (It's something I've learned to do during my literary analysis classes at uni) As we all know, the song starts with: Now, I was thinking: what if this is not a monologue, but rather a dialogue between two people? I think there are reasons to believe that this is a dialogue, and here's why: First, the thing that stood out to me was that the blue and pink lyrics (see quoted lyrics above) are not consistently sung after each other, but they sometimes overlap. Which, to me, implies that there are two speakers, as you simply cannot say two things at the same time lol. Second, I tried to look for clues in the music video if there are any reasons to believe that it could be a dialogue. And get this: we only see Lana when she sings the pink lines, not the blue ones. Every time the dialogue is sung, the video - very consistently - shifts between Lana (pink lines) and footage of "the boys" (blue lines) implying that they are the other speaker(s). Art is often about choices and this video really seems to complement the song in terms of making those choices. Which brings me to my final point. We don't see shifting footage when the dialogue is sung first. Why? I'm not sure why. The only thing I can think of is probably too obvious, but here's what I think: this part seems to be an introduction to the rest of the song, which is implied by the huge neon MTWBT sign (like a title page perhaps?). It's only after the sign that we see Lana for the first time in the video. And maybe the two girls implies that there are two speakers, but I can't really make that claim. Sorry for the essay lmao. TL;DR: MTWBT contains a dialogue, which is indicated by overlapping lyrics and shifting footage of Lana and "the boys".

I like Runaway. It would've been even better with a nice bridge instead of the repeated "runaway"s imo
  16. I look forward to the day that she actually does Imagine our minds!
  17. I agree; production-wise it's an amazing multi-layered track. It just doesn't translate well when she plays it live imo... Which is actually a shame

    Avril Lavigne

Exactly! Which is what makes the whole thing rather sad, tbh This 100%. Besides maturity, the song also had some sort of indie vibe to it which I absolutely loved. I know I may seem bitter, so I'm sorry about that. I still would love to be proved wrong when she releases her long awaited new album.

    Avril Lavigne

I agree with most of what you said. I'm just not sure she has the kind of freedom to do whatever she wants album-wise. In the past she was always set up with producers through her label to push her to make mainstream yet "edgy" music. She is a sellout, which makes her music seem inauthentic. Her music is never a cohesive body of work, but merely songs slapped together on something she dares to call an album (hello AL5) trying to sell a product. It's probably both the intelligence and her personality. Let's not forget that she was a high school dropout after all.

I used to stan her when I was 12 Unfortunately she is not the same kind of artist Lana is who breathes music, constantly writes stuff and overall just has a great work ethic. Sure, Avril was ill for quite some time, but that does not justify this extreme delay of her 6th album Avril is just an uneducated, poor decision making (relationship AND business wise), lazy "singer" who lacks any social skill in communication with her fan base (or what's left of it). However, I'm still looking forward to what she brings to the table with AL6 (simply because it's been such a long time). I just don't think she's the kind of artist who has enough IQ to make something as brilliant as Honeymoon And that's the tea
  21. Agreed, but I do think LFL was the least cryptic one out of all her albums
