  1. I was listening some snippets that I didn't hear before (not a good idea ) and I had this impressions: Diet Mountain Dew Baby looks like a song that would play in a animation movie from Disney (Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, these types of movies ) Me and My Boyfriend reminds me of Feeling Good by Nina Simone (again ) Dance for Money kinda reminds me of You're Gonna Love Me (one more time ) Oh, and Caught You Boy looks like a song that would play in a Disney teen movie from 2005 or 2006, I think. Why the fuck Lana songs are reminding me of Disney?
  2. I saw once that her favorite Bruce Springsteen's song was "I'm on Fire" so I thought it could be a reference because she likes to do this in her songs. And about the "Dancing in The Dark", was because I searched for some Bruce Springsteen songs once and I found "Dancing in The Dark. Then I heard Summertime Sadness and realized the "Dancing in The Dark" lyric there, which made me think: "Could it be? ". But I really don't know, I just thought that could be a possibility since she likes to do these little references in her songs. I also didn't know about this Joker reference. But I think it would be much nicer if this quote was the real thing behind the "Dancing in The Dark" lyric because I really liked it!
  3. Haha you're welcome! Here are more: "Dancing in The Dark" and "I'm on Fire" are Bruce Springsteen songs. Summertime Sadness - "Dancing in The Dark in the pale moonlight" and "Baby, I'm on Fire" Sad Girl - "I'm on Fire, baby" Body Electric - "I'm on Fire" Lolita references: Noir - "I'm his little Dolly" Girl That Got Away - "Dreaming 'bout your Dolly, sweet Dolly dream dream" "Dolly" is the nickname for Dolores, Lolita's real name. Oh, and you forgot to add Biggie Smalls in Teenage Wasteland ("You play me Biggie Smalls")
  4. Gods and Monsters - Friedrich Nietzsche ("God's dead") Cola - The Beatles ("...in the sky with diamonds") Carmen - Carmen by Prosper Mérimée and an opera of the same title by Georges Bizet (plus a movie starring Beyoncé ) Edit: I forgot to add to Carmen - A Streetcar Named Desire (1951 American drama film and 1947 play) ("That's the little story of the girl you know, relying on the kindness of strangers")
  5. I'm a little nervous, but I think I will try to stay hopeful. I saw a comment saying that everything would pass for the senate before approved (I think, can't remember that well) so I think I'll lean a little on that... And I'm sorry if I look naive or anything, it's just that I don't like losing my faith in things...
  6. This song always makes me cry, but I love it so much!
  7. The worst part is that actually there are! All around the world and the ignorance and stupity of these people makes me so indignant and sad!
  8. RIP A.M.E.R.I.C.A actually seems interesting for me... Take me with you! I don't even live in U.S, but these results made me feel nervous!
  9. I wish you all the luck, americans!
  10. My theory is that Children of The Bad Revolution and Brooklyn Baby are close to revive in this album! "Run for our lives They got all our chains Let's hope that we merge Create our own games DJ's, rock stars, posers we are The new politicians They're celebrity editions And it's so pornographic then it's tragic Nothing magic makes us free To be what we wanna be, wanna be" "I'm talking about my generation Talking about that newer nation And if you don't like it You can beat it Beat it, baby" I don't know that much about decades, but maybe... 90's? (I watched a Kurt Cobain documentary once and I kinda associated ) Imagine how tumblr will be if this is really true
  11. This is funny, I put that I live in Dreamland when I registered here.

  13. Brown. But I admit that I got really excited when I saw her blonde this year and I would love if she decided to dye again!
  14. Some of my favorites lyrics are: Born to Die: "Come take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane" Ride: "I'm tired of feeling like I'm fucking crazy I'm tired of driving 'til I see stars in my eyes It's all I've got to keep myself sane, baby So I just ride, I just ride" All You Need: "You have the choice To hear the noise Or hear the sweet sound Of your sweet voice I know I've heard it I heard it in my sleep" Caught You Boy: "Thunder in the air, trouble on my mind Hold me in the dark, kiss it all behind Baby don't be scared, come on honey smile Everything is fine now, everything is fine" You're Gonna Love Me: "You say that you don’t want to be hypnotized, But baby I, I don’t want to hypnotize you. There’s nothing from you that I want to take. I just want to be like you. (Maybe love you just a little bit), Please." Get Drunk: "Cigarettes and robitussin, will i ever get to heaven? It's not looking good now" God Knows I Tried: "Put on that Hotel California Dance around like I'm insane I feel free when I see no one And nobody knows my name" "On Monday they destroyed me But by Friday I'm revived" Children of The Bad Revolution: "Where the bad boys blow smoke Just like they're James Dean And the it girls blow kisses Just like Marilyn" "Run for our lives They got all our chains Let's hope that we merge Create our own games DJ's, rock stars, posers we are The new politicians They're celebrity editions And it's so pornographic then it's tragic Nothing magic makes us free To be what we wanna be, wanna be" Body Electric: "Elvis is my daddy, Marilyn’s my mother, Jesus is my bestest friend" "Mary prays the rosary for my broken mind (I said don't worry about it)" "Whitman is my daddy, Monaco’s my mother, Diamonds are my bestest friend. Heaven is my baby, suicide’s her father, Opulence is the end" "I pretend I’m not hurt And go about the world like I’m havin’ fun" "Mary's swayin' softly to her heart's delight" Dum Dum: "Once you've had a taste of living my way You’ll be forever changed" "I know I had a lot But babe I want a little more Dum dum Want a little more, dum dum" And I just can't choose a favorite from Gods and Monsters, Cruel World, Driving In Cars With Boys and others . I loved this thread, I will def come back and post more.

  17. Yeah!! It's so cinematographic, looks like a theme song from an old Hollywood movie imo!
  18. There. The rebellious-nostalgic-primadonna teenage years started there.
  19. This reminds of when I saw that she release an album each year, I thought she was doing a Disney scheme . And I actually was wondering how this forum would be if Lana decided to wait 3 or 4 years to release the new album.
