  1. When she says "you're looking to score" does she mean looking to score sex or looking to score drugs? I've heard it used in both contexts
  2. Everything sounds soo good!! I was SO excited for Salvatore because I just like the name so I'm really glad to hear that people are liking it! Definitely didn't see The Blackest Day being anything but a sad slow ballad! Wow, CAN'T WAIT to hear this album!! THANK YOU to everyone that's sharing this information here! It's so so appreciated much love!
  3. I honestly just think she's referencing those plastic pink flamingoes that are meant to be decorations? They seem very Lana, like the whole motel/neon/kitsch vibe?
  4. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the reviews of the songs people write, and perhaps reading snippets of lyrics maybe! If the recordings are good then I'll probably listen to a few little snippets but otherwise I think I want to wait till the album is out in full
  5. I think here in Finland it will be 10pm but I'm not sure, the American time zones confuse me so much
  6. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Art Deco is one of the three confirmed faster songs so far along with HBTB and Freak
  7. Yeah I agree with this, perhaps not as slow as Honeymoon but not like HBTB I think. I can't believe some people are going to be listening to the whole album tomorrow! I'm so happy for you guys who are going, and can't wait to read what you all write about the songs
  8. Do you think Religion and Salvatore will be closer to the HBTB/Freak sound or the Honeymoon/TLY sound? I can't tell if she only means HBTB, Freak and Art Deco as the mid- to up-tempo songs or if that also includes Religion and possibly Salvatore?
  9. Omg! So hope that's bts for the video! Lana's hair looks so good in that ponytail (well at least I'm presuming that's lana?) The pink neon glow against those plants as a backdrop would look so good if she's like lounging lazily while singing intercut with boys doing whatever as if that's where she's watching them from!
  10. I'm gonna read what everyone writes about the UO listening party, like song descriptions and lyrics etc, but I'm not going to listen to the recordings (or try not to haha)! I feel like getting info on the songs will be enough for me to wait till the album comes out and j can listen fully in HQ
  11. The more I think about the "I live to love you, I love to love you" part of MTWBT and the way it sounds like a repetitive chant the more I think it may tie in with this cult theme that's been discussed previously on lana boards? You know, like a chant cult members repeat to the leader or something similar? I'm not saying that's what the songs about, just that particular part makes me think back to the cult imagery of the album sampler
  12. If you think this place is toxic and you hate everyone just leave? It's not like anyone wants you here anyway. Lol, imagine being so bitter and boring that you need to condescend to people over the Internet and insult them for anything they do. Enjoy your life of pathetic mediocrity :)
  13. Oh no someone on the Internet insulted my choice of avi and signature. You basically just proved my point tbh.
  14. This album is fast shaping to be a very interesting atmosphere, I feel like it'll be so fascinating when all put together for the first time! MTWBT is definitely tied with TLY for my top spot right now tbh! I imagine like neon signs at night by the beach, or maybe by a lagoon in the swamp, somewhere hot and humid where the air is heavy and it just feels like something dark is either going to happen or has just happened? But yeah, that single cover absolutely encapsulates the atmosphere for me
  15. Why do you act like you're hot shit and you know everything? This is a forum for fans of a music artist, stop acting like some stuck up academic! as if anyone here actually respects any of the vile crap you spit at people when they disagree with you. Like grow up, there's no need to be so nasty and condescending on the Internet? Like how boring must your life be if this is what you resort to to feel like you have at least a sliver of flavour to your bland ass personality.
  16. I love it! It's got a really dark tropical vibe to it, definitely speaks 'Surf Noir' to me! (Or at least my interpretation of it) I love the "it's all a game to me anyway" line so much, to me it plays into the whole independent theme she's bringing up this era, like she's watching this guy leave and just playing music like 'yeah whatever, just gonna move on to the next one now' and I just love how playful it is yet still sounding dark? Haha I don't know if any of that made sense? :')
  17. I definitely hope this imagery is explored further in any upcoming music videos, or the themes come up in other songs etc. And I've really enjoyed your posts on Lana and the Male Gaze this era, I didn't even think about it till I saw you post about it a while back but now I see it I find it so interesting! It's certainly something I look forward to thinking about in detail and discussing once we have the whole album!
  18. This cult idea has me thinking about the chorus lyrics of Freak in a new light "If you wanna leave Come to California Be a freak like me too" And those lyrics in context of the cult imagery like the girls dancing made me think of how Charlie Manson picked up young girls who were against the mainstream/angry at 'the man' and promised to take them away to a place they could be free etc as a way of luring them into the cult mentality? If you know what I mean? Just a thought
  19. I think the idea of her as a cult leader in the footage and that its kool-aid in the cup not wine is so interesting! I'm really loving the visuals here too, definitely goes with what she said in the V interview about 'Honeymoon' being a word that encapsulates life being a dream and being able to make your life beautiful etc!
  20. I feel like this is the Honeymoon-era version of when some people were adamant that Florida Kilos would be a reworked Kill Kill? Personally, I hope Salvatore isn't Backfire, however I wouldn't be sad if it was because I do like Backfire! I just don't see it happening at all since Lana said she doesn't like reusing old songs in the interview where she premieres HBTB? But as always I'll admit if I'm wrong!
  21. Still can't get my head around the idea of Swan Song having a Banjo in it :')
  22. I wonder where the sections are? Like where do the slow songs turn to fast songs and where do they turn back to slow songs again towards the end? I'm thinking God Knows I Tried will start slow and build up and then from HBTB through to Religion or Salvatore will be fast?
  23. Tbh with the visual of shadows going across a woman's eyes I can kinda see MTWBT being slow, like it might not be sexy but perhaps more sensual? Either way though, I'm really curious to hear this song! Also I love the idea of the album getting "grimier" in the middle, and "mid-to-high-tempo" songs in the middle too! and I like that she felt she could be playful with this album!
