None of you are going to get that bop album anytime soon-we can predict what is coming next: Piano. a couple of songs with a backbeat. A song mentioning Chucky- likely in reference to children and motherhood. lyrics about Lana’s everyday life in LA- venues she likes to visit potentially including coffee shops, sandwich trucks or laundry. Lyrics about modern technology- ironic in nature. potential politicised lyrics as she likes to push boundaries and make people angry- I can see this progressing.

Why is power and control listed as power pop? power pop is poppy power chords similar to pop punk but not punk influenced. songs like Stacey’s mom, Gold coins by charli xcx, Beverly Hills. Power and Control is Gaga dance pop.

Hopefully the tour merch is menstrual pancakes but she sounds good on her newest lives- she might be using pitch correction but it’s better which is great

The consensus from critics has been that you’d have to be a fan to like the work or atleast familiar with it- I can’t imagine any general person wanting to listen to these songs tbh.

okay here’s the first mixed review- There is a good album in there somewhere . There’s also a lot of filler, and times when it feels as though she crosses the line into parody It is wordy – and those words are also delivered breathily and sometimes deliberately obscured. If you don’t get your ear around them in time, you simply won’t know what they are unless you can go back and/or consult the lyrics. You’ll have to make your own mind up on this one: I suspect that’s exactly how she wants it.

We will see how the album fares when it’s actually out- we still don’t have fishtail or Candy necklace in decent quality

We have the same conversations all the time about whether artists read here- it’s their own choice and we are a lot nicer than what you see on the Daily Mail or even ATRL

Her sound was never “commercial” though- BTD was string driven trip hop album with some pop and hip hop leaning moments, UV was soft rock and Psychedelic- it’s not like we were getting Ariana pop songs

I have worked on music but I’d certainly never mentioned it once here nor did I claim to be on Lanas level- it is a word on the dictionary in fact- any sequence of notes is a melody but when there is a very untraditional melody that has non traditional chord sequences or elements irregardless of the melody that are jarring(yes an oxymoron perhaps)- the term certified on the Cambridge dictionary “unmelodic” is used. props to the other user for having a legion of followers on Twatrl.

I mentioned the definition for you- there are “harsh” or discordant elements that don’t flow in linear pattern- again why people have a breakdown over a simple term is honestly odd. It doesn’t mean bad. It follows unmelodic patterns.

Not ATRL having a breakdown over the word unmelodic when I mentioned those 3 tracks in particular- there are discordant elements in those songs which is often deemed unmelodic- I hope the reviewers don’t get bombarded for using basic words lmao
