Not much of a surprise, but...
-
I still think they'll announce more physical versions during release week to secure that number one, similarly to what The Weeknd did, and that'll include a "standard" vinyl that actually comes with a cover. Patience...
-
Okay I actually SCREAMED @ Benito Skinner being in it too! An icon! The str8s may have Imagine and We Are The World, but fuck that, we have M A L I B U!

Most artists' stores send stuff out a few days before the release date so that if there's no delay in the shipping process, everything arrives on the release date. Obviously if it has to be shipped to a different country, or there's a bank holiday somewhere, or IDK let's say there's a pandemic or something, this might not hold true. Another issue is that there aren't that many vinyl pressing facilities still operating, so this can cause quite a delay (that's why sometimes when you preorder something, it says something like "ships in 10 to 15 weeks"), but considering the album has been finished for months now, I don't think that's a problem in this case.

LITERALLY same! The way she's stanning Lana's best album (y'all can fight me lol), plus Gwen Stefani, Kylie Minogue, and of course the Queen of Pop herself... Sometimes I wonder if Kim is actually me, except you know, she's talented and brilliant and gorgeous.
-
According to somebody on Popjustice, a RCA spokesperson confirmed that no deluxe edition/re-release is planned as of now and that the cover was only updated at Britney's request following #JusticeForGlory. I still hope there'll be a physical release down the line, even if it just includes the Slumber Party single remix and perhaps Mood Ring outside of Japan.
-
I love all of Glory, but the triple serve that is the Slumber Party/Just Like Me/Love Me Down section... Glorious indeed!
-
Kim talked about wanting to create a cohesive concept album that "drops you into its own bubble" and listed her favourite albums as examples: Love. Angel. Music. Baby. by Gwen Stefani, Born To Die by Lana, and Confessions On A Dance Floor by Madonna. The way her taste SNAPPED!

Make Me sucks, and I'm the first to admit that Blackout, Circus etc. have higher highs. But I think Glory works really well as an album, it's very consistent quality-wise, which to me makes it more enjoyable to listen to as a whole. Obviously her older albums have all the hits, but also lots of misses. In a way, the Japanese version of Glory is the perfect Britney package for me. You get all 18 Glory tracks + that best-of bonus CD.
-
Glory is lowkey her best album, I said what I said. #sorrynotsorry
-
She's such a mess, I love it. Like, if I was still stanning her, I'd be fucking pissed, but this way it's just hilarious to watch this trainwreck of an campaign unfold little by little.

I don't know, maybe I just falsely assumed that you talking about Marina making big money from L+F was backed up by facts and numbers.
-
Is she really making all that much off of it, though? Artists aren't earning much money from albums anymore anyway (mostly just through touring), even if they're successful, and a 5 – 51 – 97 chart run in her main market... well.
-
So did anyone ever get their signed poster? Like, in that email back in February (?) she said the ones they had got lost and they'd get new ones and send them out separately from the vinyls, but there haven't really been any updates in quite a while. Did anyone contact her, or Musicglue?
-
:rip: I love this thread. And L+F is still crap.
-
One year of Broken. What a song, what an era! Remember how she was feeding us last year?
-
Like A Prayer, Erotica, RAY OF LIGHT, American Life, Confessions On A Dance Floor, SWEETIES, I'M SO SORRY... Anyway, it was a quote from the Ladey Gags Show, in case this wasn't clear for everyone.
-
On a scale of Papa Don't Preach to Express Yourself, how reductive is it gonna be?
-
Anyway. Ray Of Light Confessions On A Dance Floor American Life Erotica Music Madame X Rebel Heart MDNA Bedtime Stories Like A Prayer Hard Candy True Blue Madonna Like A Virgin As much as I can understand that not all of her albums are for everyone, I will always appreciate her will to experiment and take risks. No two Madonna albums sound the same, and I think this kind of versatility is still unmatched in pop music.
-
Umm... I mean, sure, you may dislike her more recent output, but that's a bit of an extreme thing to say, don't you think?

A certain Yosemite stan you all know introduced me to Isaac Dunbar the other day, quote: "He's like Conan Gray in that he's a pop-leaning gay boy. However, his lyricism and vocals are much better and he doesn't pander to cishet white girls who call people smol beans." Musically, he reminds me of Troye Sivan, Lorde, the aforementioned Conan Gray, and somehow... early Marina And The Diamonds? He's from Cape Cod and just released his second EP "Isaac's Insects" earlier this month, which he says is inspired by Thom Yorke, Fleetwood Mac, James Blake, and King Krule. Releases so far: "Balloons Don't Float Here" (2019) Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube "Isaac's Insects" (2020) Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube Thoughts?

I'd expect TOTL Vol. 2 around Halloween. I don't think they'll do the full album, though, they'll probably try to keep it a one-disc affair. Very excited about the Clarity vinyl, the mock-up looks gorgeous! I wonder if there'll be a "less fancy" version of it released internationally, like it happened with TOTL Vol. 1

Timeless bops can't age. See also: Confessions On A Dance Floor, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. et al.

I don't know, to me, the difference is that Orange Trees is one of the few songs on that album that are not try-hard deep. It doesn't take itself too seriously, it's just a fun little bop (a very basic one, admittedly). Enjoy Your Life, on the other hand... You can just tell that Marina wrote it and thought she had done something. But she hadn't. With those cringeworthy lyrics, not even the most amazing production in the world could have saved this song. And that's my main problem with Love + Fear. Marina just shouldn't have tried to make it seem deeper than it is. There's nothing wrong with making "just" pop music. Like, I don't mind Baby, Karma, Orange Trees, Please Don't Call Me... They're nothing special, but they're decent, catchy pop songs. But if you put out an album like Love + Fear and then act like you've written the music equivalent to Freud's Psychoanalysis, then yes, you will get dragged and it will be deserved.
