  1. I 100% agree with this. I was re-listening last night and felt that "in Your Car" will be the lead single. We barely got a snippet since the first few mins are the intro music. It's gorgeous and sounds like it pops off. Also, what if it's called "Star"
  2. You can believe all you want, but they were "fan singles" as the press release states. I'm sure they will be on the album, but its not the lead single.
  3. Why is everyone freaking out? I sort of new she wasn't going to be the Hottest Record in the World b/c when you are, that's typically when the song is released (or right after). She released it at midnight - so I think it's just an interview or something.
  4. We haven't yet. The press release for "Hope is a Dangerous Thing..." says that the lead single has yet to come... This is the third "fan track" (with MAC and VB being the first two). See source: https://www.complex.com/music/2019/01/lana-del-rey-drops-new-song-hope-is-a-dangerous-thing-for-a-woman-like-me-to-have-but-i-have-it
  5. Okay, after a few listens, I actually like it a lot. It's really haunting. BUT I stand by my original point which was that she should not have released it as a "single". But let's be real: none of these have been singles in the classic sense. She released a 10 min song with 'bitch' in the title and the other is a piano ballad with the longest title known to God, and she says "fuck" in it. We have not yet seen the lead single. Or the lead video for the era that showcases the aesthetic. Does anyone remember her insta-live last week? When someone asked why she was re-shooting the cover art and if it would be "baddie" she said "NO, that's the thing. It's not" which makes me think she might do something bright, maybe neon that contrasts the music. Which would actually be ICONIC AF.
  6. Same...She made MAC and VB seem like random songs, that are part of the album, but not singles. Same with Hope is a Dangerous Thing. I don't think we've had that moment yet. Probably closer to the albums release.
  7. I get these are "singles" - but i still don't think we have gotten the lead single yet. MAC/VB were so far out, and this almost reminds me of when she released Honeymoon before we got HBTB.
  8. I'm so confused. When she released MAC and VB - I sort of got the surfer vibe of the album. They definitely seem more laid-back, cool vibe. Even with the other snippets - Cinnamon, HTD, HIAB - I still got the casual, cool, vibe. This is heavy, deep, and raw. I'm not sure we entirely know the direction of this album.
  9. Is this a beautiful song? yes. Does she sound great? absolutely. Do I think it makes sense for the album? sure. Should we have released this over some of the other snippets we heard, with a long ass title, and dumb af cover art? NOPE.
  10. This was said in another thread, but I think this might be the other song she was planning to put out in Oct. She said she was in a lighter mood for this album, but there was a really serious song she wanted to release. Is this it? Also, I'm convinced we haven't gotten the lead single yet. Everything has been a promo releases and taste of whats to come.
  11. That's what I thought too! She said that she might release another song before this really kicks off and it was a very serious one. Which makes me think we don't have the "lead single" yet. I still think she'll do a big video and song at least for the first (kinda like a Honeymoon release followed by the lead single - HBTB)
  12. Interesting take...you might be right. My other theory is that we're in a vicious cycle. We've been so touched by one of her albums - whether BTD, UV or one of the others that we want to see her succeed, at almost any cost. So anything she puts out, we will listen to, buy, have listening parties to get the #'s up, which gets her to #1 albums. And b/c she can get #1 albums, her label continues to let her do whatever. But the truth is: she needs guidance. She needs someone to be like "no bitch, that sounds boring. Or bad. Or leave it alone". But the more we buy, the more she still grabs #1 on Billboard, the more she has freedom and the more frustrated we all become. But whatever. I'll still listen and buy up this boring ass piano ballad come Wednesday.
  13. I think she hates her career, or herself, or us, or all of it. She always chooses the worst songs to release. Almost to the point where I think she's doing it on purpose. We're screaming for Cinnamon. It has a great blend of piano and bop, completely new sound for her, has some radio potential and could really get the buzz going for her album. What does Lana do? Release Sylvia, a piano ballad that reinforces everything people say about her - that she's sad and her music is boring - oh, and then renames it to some pretentious ass long title, likely for the rationale of being "edgy", "different", and "non-conforming". I don't mind the song being on the album, but really? To get people hyped up? I can't... I love her ya'll, but she makes it so, so hard sometimes.
  14. I wish I was excited for this song, but I'm not. The snippet sounds boring af. The other songs sound great, but are these songs singles? Or promotional singles? I'm just surprised we didn't get that typical bigger song as the lead single (like a West Coast or HBTB or even Love). Anyway, I'll listen, but *sigh* was hoping for Cinnamon (and hoping for so much more because she was working with Jack).
  15. Yea... I guess was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked all the songs so far. I haven't had that since BTD and Paradise really. I just don't want to lose any of them.
  16. Unpopular opinion but... I don't like this song. It sounds boring af. And the title is pretentious af. Before everyone rants, I adore LDR and have loved every song she's teased this era so far - but this is straight up boring. Why in the world would she release this when she has How to Disappear, Happiness is a Butterfly, Cinnamon, and the new amazingness that is In Your Car (or whatever it will be called). I'll give it a chance, and I'll even buy it to support her, but I'm now nervous that some of these snippets (i.e. CINNAMON), will not be released. She literally changes her mind at the last minute. And if you think people complaining about not getting Yosemite was annoying - considering no one has ever heard it and really just fell in love with a title - Cinnamon will be worst since we already got a tease of the sound, lyrics and overall vibe. Fuck. She better have all these songs on the album.
  17. Agreed It has a radio-friendly sound, which I like since a lot of her music (which I also love) has more toned-down sound.
  18. The only song she better not scrap is Cinnamon. It's amazing and we only have a snippet. I think it could be a really good lead single, but it probably won't.
  19. I'm wondering if things are going to ramp up in January. The promotional stuff for Gucci will kick-in (TV, billboards, etc) and if the album is coming out March 29th, we'll probably get a big single to start the buzz.
  20. I was listening to How to Disappear and Cinnamon last night - just blown away. Both tracks are so good. I know everyone is saying UV 2.0 or BTD 2.0 or LFL 2.0 - but this album is shaping up it's own vibe. The songs, in my opinion, feel more personal, more relatable, and sound more mainstream. Also, I do not think this era is dead. It didn't even start. We have to be patient. But really...Cinnamon is incredible, deserves a video, and should be released as a single - a big bop song to get hype for the album.
  21. Well other than it being out in March, this isn't really any different than what she said in the interview with Zane. She mentioned surf vibe and guitar (red hot chili pepper style). She said 11 tracks right now - so who knows if this will change or not. I don't really get surf vibes or electric guitar from Cinnamon...sooo... I think we need to hang tight to see.
  22. I'm thinking it would be smart for them to release a big single in January around the time the Gucci campaign launches with maybe the album coming out in late Q1 (maybe March)...
  23. Totally. Agreed. I've just noticed a trend that the "lead singles" tend to be the most universal/radio-friendly (as her songs can possibly be) - VG, West Coast, HBTB, Love...I just don't get those from MAC and VB. Plus with Jack doing the production, I guess I imagined something more mainstream. But hey, could be totally wrong. You never know with LDR.
  24. Nope. She said "I think this is the single I want to put out". Not that it was a lead single. She also put out MAC too.
  25. I don't think it is. Too random of a release and wayyyy too far out. Def promo single, but i don't think the lead. But could be wrong.
