Honeymoon - Pre-Release and Discussion Thread
CatchTheBreeze replied to ilovetati's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
Exactly my thoughts! -
I'm not overwhelmed by this song. It's nice and I like the beginning and the Major Tom-part. But apart from that it's just okay for me - sounds too much like Honeymoon. I'm just hoping the rest of the album will have some more upbeat moments.

This clip is (for a Lana video at least) pretty funny. Cool colors too!

Apple Music Beats1 with Zane Lowe - August 2015 [Audio]

I really liked this interview - and her voice is beautiful, even if she's "just" talking. Could listen to her all day long. -
Here you go. (click on image to enlarge)

Thayer Sarrano "Crease" - new song, with heavy Mazzy Star- (and quite a bit Lana-Ultraviolence-) influence and sound - really cool! The entire album is great and reminds me of "Ultraviolence" every now and then.

Lana Performs Unreleased Songs at the Endless Summer Tour
CatchTheBreeze replied to Sitar's topic in Latest News
I just watched the videos Colacunt uploaded (thank you very very much!) - Lanas vocal performance is awesome and breathtaking, she seems to be more confident than on her earlier tours. And I wouldn't have expected that she's playing unreleased stuff, incredible, it's like a dream come true! (I was at the Marina & the Diamonds gig in Hamburg yesterday, only 70 mins short (but very good nevertheless), and afterwards I told a friend that Lana never plays her unreleased stuff too - and now she proves me wrong, hehe.) -
Awesome song from a german (!) singer - and it reminds me a bit of Lana!
-
I'm not quite sure if anyone mentioned this swedish singer already but in 2012 she released this wonderful song - and the typography of the EP cover is pretty similiar to Lana's (maybe on purpose...)

Has Lana confirmed Ronson will be the executive producer? Or will he just be involved in a couple of songs? -
Honeymoon - Pre-Release and Discussion Thread

I'm really excited now - a new Lana album in 2015, unbelievable! It seems that Lana likes to alternate her album titles - after a dark one comes a lighter sounding one - "Born to die" > "Paradise", "Ultraviolence" > "Honeymoon". I hope the album will be a bit more uptempo than UV (but not too chart friendly)! -
"Froot" is just amazing! Took me a few listens but now (after 50 repeats ) I love this song. Can't wait for the album.

Rank UV tracks from least to best.....
CatchTheBreeze replied to 50ShadesofCool's topic in Lana Thoughts
This is my list: 01. Flipside (best LDR song since "Ride" for me) 02. Fucked my way... 03. Old money 04. Cruel world 05. Ultraviolence 06. Black beauty 07. Brooklyn baby 08. West Coast (Radio mix) 09. Is this happiness 10. Sad girl 11. Shades of cool 12. Pretty when you cry 13. Florida kilos 14. West Coast (good song but listened to it too many times) 15. Money Power Glory 16. Guns and roses 17. The other woman (the only song on the album I really can't stand at all) -
At first I thought the article said that - but after reading it twice the article says that the interviewer is drinking a beer with his colleague at the bar and Lana came by and made an ironic remark about their drinking. I don't think she drank a beer with him. But the title of the article is clearly misleading!

Two more reviews from German media - Spiegel (one of the biggest magazines over here) gives UV a 8.0! The review itself is a bit weid and cliché but hey, they did like the music. http://www.spiegel.de/kultur/musik/neue-alben-lana-del-rey-chrissie-hynde-alexis-taylor-kishi-bashi-a-975639.html And Plattentests.de gives a 7/10: http://www.plattentests.de/rezi.php?show=11353 -

"Musik Express" (one of the better known music mags in Germany) gave UV a 4/5: http://www.musikexpress.de/reviews/alben/article592222/lana-del-rey-ultraviolence.html Quite a lot of the German reviews (which are mostly positive) are critizising the lyrics which according to them are too repetitive. -
Darkness Falls - Night will be dawn (has a slight UV vibe to it)
