  1. I hear the wallpaper line perfect. The King part, I hear a "ck" pronunciation right after she says "king..." King, come, Daddy. King called "Daddy," ... King Kong Daddy. ... ... ...
  2. A very fun and bright Indie band. Very uplifting music for the majority of their album. And the lead singer is so... Love all the songs, but here are some of my personal favorites from Dog is Dead! Happy listening!

    Daughter

THIS ONE YOU GUYS MUST LISTEN TO. She's just amazing. Just. Fucking. Amazing. She's so raw and personal with her lyrics, even if many of them are less than joyful. There's this sense of acceptance, realism and openness in her lyrics, and they are countered with this sense of indifference that makes how impacting her songs can be such a wonderful oddity. All her songs are beautiful, but here's some of my favorites! Happy listening! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4XfhH191mU
  4. GAH, FUCKING JEALOUS. And omg, I don't know if you ever saw Most Popular Girls in School on YouTube, but that statement reminded me of Trisha Cappelletti and I am starting to cry so much from laughing over it.

    Wye Oak

She's very enigmatic; inarticulately poignant and poignantly inarticulate. I only cried when I heard "Doubt," but a majority of the songs I heard just left me so beside myself because of how great they are. A very unique style, some songs get messy, but when it comes to Wye Oak, there's something about the messiness that seems so intentional, artistic and symbolic. Here's some of my favorites! Happy listening!
  6. I don't even need to say anything more than the next few sentences. I consider Morrissey the king of indie, and the way he can write with a somber/bitter yet humorous flair is just so appealing to me. It makes for a different experience listening to somebody make light of their own pains and grievances, and yet still be raw and unapologetically (is that a word?) honest about it. But even the songs with more serious lyrics are amazing because, like the humorous ones, you see the conflict of identifying, managing and articulating such personal feelings and trying to maintain a sense of pride at the same time; but when it gets real, it just gets real, and I love that about Morrissey. TOO MANY to recommend, so here's some of my most frequent listens instead. Happy listening! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxLFav1Z9EY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqX0MZtUTvM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbgdCzGfFt4 (The other version of Back to the Old House is also great) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1kdDd2jMdY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3bCWRLS6Eo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaUUYV7wKos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xldmXca0kvg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECZ0bwvr1DI
  7. One of my favorite Indie Rock bands. Their album from when they were Cavil at Rest was pretty awesome, but Gorilla Manor and their most recent album, Hummingbird, really show how talented this group really is. They've been my getaway since high school when a friend that I met at a Poetry Out Loud competition showed them to me. I recommended all their songs, but here are some of my personal favorites! Happy listening! FROM GORILLA MANOR: FROM HUMMINGBIRD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQBFUxdzafM
  8. I NEVER KNOW IF I AM BREAKING A RULE EVERY TIME I POST A TOPIC See, I love Young & Beautiful and I get the chills (mostly from Lana singing, especially the verses,) but it was also rather unfulfilling for me. The Orchestra version was a little bit of a better experience, and the Demo was better than that, but the chorus and bridge always pulled a "meh" out of me. What I like about remixes (and the people who do them,) is seeing what so many different people can do with their creativity, all using the same song. It's amazing how some elements of songs become exponentially more prominent than other elements, and the feel of each song really changes the atmosphere. At least for me, anyway. But anyway, here's some of my favorite remixes of Young & Beautiful, if anyone else finds other mashups/remixes of any genre, I'd love to see them. YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL [TWICE AS NICE REMIX] - I love the harmonies that were added at the beginning, best seven seconds ever. YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL [MADEUX REMIX] - One of my first PlayStation fighting games was one from 1999 called Evil Zone, and it was one of my favorites, I listen to the soundtrack and play the game still, and this remix always makes me think of the game. Nostalgia <3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgite0JC_z4 YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL [KULKID'S REMIX] - My first Y&B remix to come across, and the song I used for my first Space Lacing video (I could just put another link, but some days I wake up with a head full of narcissism and anyone who would prefer a picture could run in the woods with rabid deer)
  9. I need this like...remastered...in the next three weeks years.
  10. Fuck. That's tough. 100 years in the future. Would you rather go on a dream vacation for, say, three weeks, or get to be with anyone you ever wanted for one week (but you both can't leave your hometown)?

  12. Major depression. Wanderlust or Dormant?
  13. "I think about spontaneous combustion all the time..."
  14. Dark Paradise's predecessor? The question it answers? I can't deal right now with how verklempt I am. This song is just...
  15. FUCK. Beat me to it. And yet I also lusted after you for posting this. That "cheap and the best" line, I hear "She got the best," or something along the lines of that. Great job, Storm!
  16. I have a gut feeling that this isn't the last time we are going to hear this line in a Lana song. And I hope I'm right. But I really love this song, though, I really couldn't think of another way of doing it other than just remastering it. Maybe adding more lyrics, maybe sampling more dialogue from Scarface. Either way, it's fairly well executed for what direction she was going with it. It is not as bad as I thought it was going to be. 2012's leaks set some high standards for me, but so far, it looks like we're going to be hitting gold before November.
  17. Thanks guys! I will make the revisions now, it seems like this got decoded really quick! I must also note that the "That's because I am," lines, for some reason, make me think it's a reference to The Smiths "Unloveable" Something to think about!
  18. "What d'ya think of that, huh? What you think, I'm a fucking worm like you? I told you, man, I told you! Don't fuck with me!" Uh! Don't fuck with me! Fuck with me! I told you: Don't fuck with me! (x6)/Don't fuck with me! (x6) "Fuck you" attitude, You know what I wanna do: Light it up red, White and blue. Do I look high to you? Well, that's because I am! That's because I am! Do you know what I had to do To get here, man!? No, no, you don't, don't, 'Cause you're not a gangsta, ah! No, no, you don't, don't, 'Cause you're not a gangsta Like I am! Scarface, sacrifice; Sold my soul to make it nice. It was worth it, pay/paid the price. Life is death when blow is life! But me and my crew, We know what we like, We know how to roll; Will we ever stop? NO! Don't fuck with me! Don't fuck with me! You're not a gangsta! Don't fuck with me! You're not a gangsta! Don't fuck with me! You're not a gangsta! Don't fuck with me! You're not a gangsta! Don't fuck with me! You're not a gangsta! Don't fuck with me! Like I am! Ooh-ooh, do-ooh, Ooh-ooh, do-ooh. Yes, yes, yes, yes, (x6) Yes, yes. You're not a gangsta! You're not a gangsta! You're not a gangsta! Oh, fuck! Special thanks to Storm River and Bookbinder for their corrections/additions to the lyrics of Scarface. Besos, futhamuckas, xxo.
  19. Not a stupid question at all! Palms are plants that can look very similar to the leaves of palm trees, there's a huge variety of them! When I read the lyrics, I figured that there were a bunch of potted palms lined up along the veranda.
  20. That's possible, too. But palms aren't the same thing as palm trees, believe it or not.
