  1. Over a month in and I'm loving this album still. Words cannot describe my love. I get so immersed in each track that I forget the rest of the album, then the next song starts and it happens all over again.
  2. I'm sure I read that Ultraviolence was called 'Melancholia' at one stage.... It is cool to know names we almost got!
  3. Lucky Ones & Without You + The Whole of Honeymoon + Change.
  4. Well just mirroring everyone else here - was hoping that the two duets would be replaced with NFR songs.... such a shame.
  5. And it sounds like you’re randomly bringing out personal attacks for no reason. How is it kissing ass to say that the volume change in the instrumental section at 3:32 ish in HTD is done for artistic purposes? That is my interpretation of it. The whole song has an interplay between the vocals and backing.
  6. Wow your rudeness isn’t appreciated. I did say “sounds to ME”. Throughout the song, there are various production things going on, the production suddenly disappears and changes in the chorus at ‘this is how to disappear’, and to me, (NOTE I SAID ME), the final instrumental section follows the pattern of change and disruption to production in order to give a sense of ending.
  7. Which increase in volume? The one in the instrumental section right at the end? That one sounds artistic to me without a doubt, so I assume there is another one somewhere else.
  8. This is semi unrelated - but I wish I had this on film, but I installed Apple CarPlay in my car, so I can use Siri to control my music - I said "Play album Norman Fucking Rockwell by Lana Del Rey" and Siri replies "Ok, let's hear Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey" and I nearly had a laughing fit cause thats Lana at her live shows ahahahaha.
  9. I'm torn.... Its either 1. NFR!/HM 2. UV 3. BTD 4. Paradise 5. LFL or 1. NFR! 2. HM 3. UV 4. BTD 5. Paradise 6. LFL
  10. Agreed! NFR is so freaking good, that I struggle to choose one song to listen to off it, I just have to listen to the whole thing
  11. Literally was about to say the same haha
  12. I think nerves stop her from being more experimental with her setlist unfortunately...
  13. Brilliant Suggestion. My ideal setlist is: Norman Fucking Rockwell Bartender Happiness is a Butterfly Born to Die/Summertime Sadness How to Disappear Cherry The Greatest Pretty When you Cry Love Song/Change/Old Money/Terrance Loves You Ride Brooklyn Baby California The Blackest Day Mariners Apartment Complex Music to Watch Boys to Cinnamon Girl Shades of Cool Swan Song Encore 19. Get Free 20. Video Games 21. Venice Bitch I mean ideally Video games wouldn't even be on there... but just being realistic (despite the rest of it being unrealistic)
  14. California is really a masterpiece. It is beautiful and I agree, love that second pre chorus. California is the sister track to The Blackest Day imho.
  15. Venice Bitch is amazing! Winter is over in Australia and we had a 30 degree day (Celsius), I was listening to the whole album, and it was all amazing. Venice Bitch is so nice in the afternoon when its warm. Also on afternoon drives. I could have a 30 minute version and would love it <3 She really did bless us with an amazing album. I wish the greatest had more choruses and verses!!
  16. Nek minute, Norman Fucking Rockwell, the extended fucking soundtrack edition featuring 'Don't Call Me Angel' and 'Season of the Witch'. LFL (The song) is a banger! Though I would love a version without the weekend.
  17. My ranking... 1. California = Venice Bitch = Love Song = Cinnamon Girl = How to Disappear = The Next Best American Record = The Greatest = Happiness is a Butterfly 2. Norman Fucking Rockwell = Mariners Apartment Complex 3. Bartender = Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have, but I have it 4. Fuck it I love you = Doin Time I disagree. You can reference another artist, through using a specific instrument, The song doesn't have to sound the same.
  18. Didn't say they had the same sound, but that doesn't prevent the use of sleigh bells from being (as I said) a nod to the Beach Boys who used them in multiple songs including Dance, Dance, Dance, I Can Hear Music and God Only Knows.
  19. The jingle bells are acceptable. After being used to the piano version it was a bit of an adjustment but has really grown on me. As someone else mentioned its a nod to the Beach Boys in God Only Knows and I like that.
  20. NFR debuted at number 4 on the Australian aria charts... pretty depressing. Born to Die, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon and Lust for Life all debuted at 1. Bad timing with Taylor Swift and Tool.
  21. I don't quite know the order.... but: Set 1 Opening: (One of the new poems) 1.Norman Fucking Rockwell 2.Video Games 3.Dark Paradise 4.Love Song 5.Music to Watch Boys to 6.Brooklyn Baby 7.Shades of Cool 8.How to disappear 9.The Blackest Day 10.Ultraviolence 11. The Greatest Set 2 Burnt Norton (Interlude) 12.Honeymoon 13.Happiness is a butterfly 14.Terrance Loves You 15.Religion 16.Change/ Get Free 17.Cinnamon Girl 18.Florida Kilos 19.Cherry 20.The next best American record 21.Ride Encore: 22.Mariner’s Apartment Complex 23.Swan Song 24.Venice Bitch Same... Is it wrong that she could do a concert where all she did was like a 20 minute version of the Blackest Day and I'd be happy with that?
  22. The sleigh bells really get on me. I absolutely love all of HTD its really really really beautiful. Especially the little instrumental break, makes Verse 3 and the Outro so beautifully emotional.
