Holy shit that was intense

LOL I truly am not meaning to offend anyone or get into any arguments, the internet is just full of questionable takes today
-
Of course it's not. The issue is that she wasn't just critical of Lana, she was hateful and ridiculous, and now she's released a hypocritical follow up praising Lana and pretending that other critics just don't get her sometimes.
-
LOL yesss I just saw your reply and same, I am definitely not one to fight online, but she is getting on my nerves.
-
OMG you guys she responded to me on twitter: "Loving an artist also means being critical of them" LOL bitch please

She really represents the absolute worst kind of journalism. Someone with no opinion of their own who is willing to jump on the bandwagon and write about anything, with no consideration of the damage that writing can cause. Last year it was trendy to jump on Lana for everything she did, so she wrote something so destructive and unfair. Yesterday it was cool to praise Born To Die, so she gives Lana a glowing review. I still don't think I've recovered from the stupidity of her take on Brooklyn Baby LOL

LOL I replied to her post on twitter I tried to remain civil but not let her forget: "Isn't it a bit hypocritical to write this article without even acknowledging the absolutely unfair hit piece you put out on Lana last year? You are one of the critics who have completely misunderstood her and used that against her. This new article is good, but come on..."

100%. That article she wrote last year was one of the worst I've ever read, and now she's writing about how great Lana is and how other critics just didn't get her at times, without any acknowledgement of her own absolutely shit take a year ago?

I don't see how this applies to Lana at all, she clearly shares a lot more with us than her body. Lana has invited us into her mind more than most people ever will. And in regards to other people who do only share their skin, that's their choice too and it's unfair to assume that they are unaware of their own decency or worth just because of what they post of themselves. I may not care to follow influencers like that, but I won't judge them for it either.

People need to stop judging others for showing their bodies. Humans are beautiful and sexual creatures, if Lana wants to flaunt her titties that is absolutely her right. We should be admiring the fact that she feels confident and sexy in her own skin

Wow this is so beautiful!

Born to Die - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
DCooper replied to Beautiful Loser's topic in Post-Release Threads
This iconic album is aging beautifully, it's everything it's supposed to be and will always be remembered as a game-changer It's sound is also very important to the journey Lana has since taken, as so much of her narrative is about personal growth and moving away from the mindset that is explored on this album. Brilliance all around -
I had just graduated university and was living on my own without roommates for the first time when I discovered this album in May 2012 and within a week I was completely obsessed and had already found AKA, Sirens, and a ton of unreleased songs, and from there my love for Lana was set forever. I feel so grateful to be witnessing her art in real time, and she will forever be the most important artist of all time to me. Thank you for everything Lana, and congrats to Born To Die, an absolutely iconic game-changer!!!

Lana Del Rey x Nikki Lane 1 - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
DCooper replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
Omg the new song is amaazing!! And a direct Twin Peaks reference -
I suspect she did actually write/complete this for Euphoria. Maybe she had some of the lyrics and melodies already, and then the show approached her and said they wanted a song and she created this. Something about it just seems so perfect for Euphoria, I don't think she just handed them a track that she already had.

I think the "this is her best song ever" crowd is pretty small though, most people who love the song aren't saying that. And if they do think it's her best song ever, then it just means that it's speaking to them personally right now. It's obviously not objectively her best song ever (Venice Bitch) but if someone loves it that much at the moment, I think it's sweet (like rock candy) that it's impacting them so strongly. Happy belated birthday! What a nice gift to receive, I'm glad you're enjoying it.
