If celebrities are fans then I think it's a good thing. I support all fandom of Lana Del Rey across the entire spectrum of fame.

I think about lana re: feminism a lot tbh and I had a revelation recently. While lana definitely portrays a relationship in which she is submissive, or at least a woman who prefers to be dominated, I feel like there's a real sex positive message in her songs that's kind of lacking in pop music as a whole.
Obviously sex is not an untouched topic in music, by male or female artists. Something I have noticed from female singers in particular is that sex is almost always sung about with love. The two seem to appear mutually exclusive, you know? Like, you cannot possibly have sex without being in love with the person you had sex with. It's also often referred to as "love making" which has always struck me as the kind of euphemism you would use in front of your parents. It makes sex seem so dirty and inappropriate. This is where I think lana differs slightly. She fucks for love but she also fucks for pleasure. She fucks because she wants it and she fucks for this grand opulent persona she's built around herself. She does not let this make her a whore or reduce her femininity in any way and tbh I think that's pretty cool~

Lollapalooza 2013: The Best Things We Saw on Friday
5. Lana Del Rey
If the multitudes of pre-fab flower crowns adorning girls' heads at Lolla did not tip you off in advance, the screaming, teeming LDR masses — the only thing that could blot out the industrial thunder of nearby NIN — made it good and clear: young female America stans for Lana. The polarizing pop ingénue took the stage looking like vintage Cher in a flowing, blood red gown with golden bodice and nearly black hair, looking very Bob Mackie-does-Grecian-goddess. Screams. A few songs in she told her band, "Lets do 'Blue Jeans,'" Screams. Fortunately, the flower crown ladies knew every single sigh and sang along, loudly, with LDR occasionally ceding a line to her rapt fans — which almost made up for how quiet and thin the sound was during her set. In the last year, her command of her voice has finally caught up to her ambition and star power — the delicacy of her baroque, operatic flourishes were in stark relief against the maniacal grunting of Trent Reznor, which punctured those swelling strings and sighs of longing from three blocks away. Lyrics straight from Rick Nowel's site:
I've always heard "Decorate my neck, me I'm indecisive" but yeah this makes a lot more sense. But Rick's site still says "Ah, he's" instead of "Harvey's" so idk really.

Bringing this over from another thread because the variation of the bridge lyrics makes things interesting.
Multiple sources have cited "Decorate my neck, me, I'm on decisis" as the final lyric. A (stare) decisis is a doctrine in which judges must respect and adhere to the precedent established by past judicial decisions when an issue resurfaces after it has already been brought to court and ruled.
Lana's not new to talking about doctrines/policies/authority in her songs.
So in that context, when thinking of "decorate my neck" as a "give me a pearl necklace" she is basically saying after all this "sucking" and "treating nicely," to finish by blowing his nut all over her neck because it has been done previously in past sexual experiences and she can fucks with it. Because she's a bad bitch.
If this is supposed to be a sexual song...then it makes sense to me. I hear it clearly in the studio version, and some of the live performances seem to go either way.

ugh, I detest Emma Roberts, only because she's with my man! can she act, I haven't seen any of her work
Season 1 had a better setting [the haunted house where anything could happen], but Season 2 had better characters [look at the development of Lana, Sister Jude, and Sister Mary Eunice].
Season 1 was interesting because it was a modern setting and it had parallels of our reality: adultery, bullying in school, school shootings, financial problems, death. And then flashbacks to other periods were sprinkled in. Enter Jessica Lange who is amazing to watch on screen. She just chews through her other castmates like a tornado in the scenes. She adds the layer of the horror of being an older actress in Hollywood.
Season 2 was the opposite where it was mostly in another time period and then the modern day scenes were scattered throughout the season. I think Season 2 was more concerned about the nature of evil- asking questions like why are people evil? Is it because they are misunderstood like the aliens? Or evil because they come from fucked up families? Or are they evil because of the devil? Or evil because society dictates that they are evil.
Ryan Murphy's problem is that he likes to have so much go on in each season that sometimes those narratives are underdeveloped.

mmm.... I'm not sure! It's hard to do a critical analysis before taking in the whole season!
My mind jump to power struggles between the genders but there's not that many males in the cast. If this youth serum thing pans out maybe youth/aging/beauty might be a theme. I'm not sure how the witchcraft is going to be developed and how it will be shown in the show.
In paganism the triple goddess in the form of the maiden, mother, and crone are common figures so maybe that will play out. But if we are talking about New Orleans Witchcraft then that would be more Voodoo. I'm excited for the new season either way!

I noticed you wanted the signature to be 500x500, but I'm afraid that goes well over the limit of signature sizes on LanaBoards, so I just used the dimensions I work with the best. I also made you matching avatars, in case you wanted those. Just take your pick. Didn't do much with the coloring, to keep the colors, like you wanted.
