  1. She has sung songs about her mother since she went by the names May and Lizzy. Throughout all her albums, her father appears frequently in the lyrics of her songs, and she always expresses that he is a safe haven and someone who is always there for her. However, in her album Blue Banisters, she opened up to her listeners - who may have wondered what her mother is like - and it turns out that she hardly talked about her mother at all. Her mother is someone with whom she always had problems, and they didn't get along well. This pain caused problems for her with the people around her and in her own life. She mentioned her mother at the beginning to convey that even though she no longer has contact with her, the trauma her mother caused still exists and has long-term consequences, such as difficulty relating to people. She wants love from someone who hurt her and hopes to find someone who can help heal her pain, but the men she has encountered only exacerbate her pain by devaluing her as an object and treating her as if she is not a person (as she sings in her song about being raped). She doesn't know how to protect herself, having never been good at it since she argued with her mother as a child. She just wants someone to take care of her, but there are only a few good people in this world, and there are so many bad people that they can be found in convenience stores. She therefore does not want to write songs about someone who will love her again because she already knows that no one can take care of her pain. She speaks in what they see her, and she speaks in what she herself sees, being the person that everyone wants to be, being the person who seeks love repeatedly from people who do not understand her pain enough, and that is American Whore. The second part of the song, which is a scream, a shout, and a disturbing melody, is to show the listeners that the pain she has now is too deep to heal. She has been broken for a long time, and she is sinking deeper than anyone could help. But instead of asking someone to help her, she dances in her own pain. Jim or Jimmy, the person she sings about in the end of the song, may be the same person she refers to in the song "Ultraviolence". It is interpreted that Jim is a friend in her imagination, and he only appears when she is drunk and/or so hopeless that she can only see Jim. In other words, she deludes herself into thinking that there's someone next to her if she realizes that she's trapped in depression, anxiety, and dark thoughts, and can't see anyone else around her. She talks to Jimmy (talks to herself) and says that she doesn't have to care about her life anymore. She just wants to get drunk now because her life has nothing left. Of course, the line "Your mom called, I told her you're f*cking up big time" means that when she was lying with that worthless guy, his mother called and was worried about him, even though her own mom never cared about her before. She curses his mother, even though in fact, she wants to curse her own mom.
  2. I love that I wouldn't think that in her free time Lana is worried about immortality - or karmic lineages, as she said in BB era interviews - and then she goes and makes statements like this. Her headspace is something else.
  3. Yes! And the opening chords are reminiscent of Bel Air.
  4. I suppose Lana is being biased here because Billie praised her many times, but how can anyone say Billie is "kind"? Please. There are so many well-documented instances of her being a rude bitch to people for no reason whatsoever. Well, I guess Lana ignores all that because she is kind to her.
  5. Ok it's now out on spotify too. We are saved
  6. So like what are we supposed to do now, like? Spotify hurry your lazy ass up

Gathering inspiration for another 13 beaches - like song I see
  8. I just listen to all her stuff regardless of the season or time of day tbh. Lana Del Rey 24/7, 365.
  9. Over 10 years of listening to this song, and I'm just thinking what even inspired this? Her road trip fantasies? As far as we know she was never waitressing for real, IIRC. And what does "every man gets his wish" even mean, and why does a guy go around saying that to people? Is it some sort of spiritual meaning? SO many questions.
  10. Can she go back to the person who she made AKA with? Now that was special and imagine if she released an album in that vein now that she has name recognition and industry respect. That aesthetic would still be fresh in 2022 and really cool to see an evolved version of it 10+ years later.
  11. Beautiful music video in May has a nice ring to it...

    Lady Gaga

Some people are asking for Chromatica and original LG5 outtakes, but her security became much better compared to her early days. I don't expect those outtakes to ever see the light of the day, unless in the form of a post-humous release.
  13. The way she sings the "you're my sunshine" lines is so innocent and fragile it almost hurts. You can almost foresee the oncoming heartbreak and tragedy. I know what that feels like .
  14. I appreciate this album so much more now than I did 6 months ago. It's aging very well.
  15. I just know she is somewhere in a random hotel room right now having penned her next The Blackest Day level masterpiece and she is smirking to herself fully knowing that she will not give it to us
  16. Lana is in a better place in her life, she finally found the real love, maybe not in a boyfriend but definitely in her family, her friends, her people. I’m so happy for her, she deserves all the goodness in her life.
  17. Marilyn Mansons. I just feel like that spark that originally made him great is gone, and it's very sad to see what he has become.
  18. Whoever suggested to put White Dress after Arcadia...wow! It flows so well. Thanks for the idea
  19. Anyone else always skip the last minute of Black Bathing Suit? I will make an edit without the ugly vocal parts.
  20. In the livestream she said that she hopes no one will ever look up her family records because they would find horrible things so yeah it's fair to surmise there are some skeletons in the closet.
  21. She said she is dedicating the next year to writing. In the LFL album trailer (and multiple times since then) she emphasized the importance of retreating into yourself and shutting out the outside world if you want to create something special. She also referred to this in the video post she made before she shut down her instagram account, how she wants to give more of her attention to her creative endeavors. I don't expect a new album next year (maybe we will get behind the iron gates + something for BTD 10 year anniversary), but if she focuses so much on being creative then I hope she will come out with something truly extraordinary for her next album in 2023.
  22. Dealer: Apple Music: #98 Ireland (+33) #123 New Zealand (+42)
  23. Now that we have BB and COCC, I'd love the next album to be named Come Under Me .
