    ALLIE X

That's so strange I'm sorry I still listen to downtown at least 4 times a day. It's so jazzy.
  2. The guy cut her off too soon when he asked her what her measure of success is for her. She just said "when the record gets finished" but you could tell she was ready to share more.
  3. She didn't sing Blue Jeans in a long time. Shook. I wish she put American or Body Electric in there also.
  4. I find it funny that she made both Change and Pretty When You Cry in literally a day and yet they are so full of emotions and are timeless amazing records. I guess when inspiration strikes everything just flows. It's amazing.
  5. It's truly outstanding. The melody is very catchy. Love it so much and I love that it's very long, it just goes on and on and on
  6. It's strange, something must have happened recently that really ruined her mood, because she was happier while making most of the record. Maybe her short-lived relationship with G-easy? Obviously there is small chance for that but I really have no idea what it could be. It's just evident she was in a better place for a long time and then something came and ruined it all
  7. You have to keep in mind that once she promised a radio host in an interview that she would post a picture of her hulla-hoop collection on instagram because apparently she has a lot, and she didn't even do that. (and that is something super easy) I don't think we should expect anything from her on this front. At the album release party she did say Yosemite needs a home, I would love it if she managed to get it to be the soundtrack song of some movie so she can at least release that one in some way.
  8. That puts it so perfectly. I think it's understandable if she wants to do something different and try new things, I just wish she did a better job of it.
  9. I think we can start the next thread when she officially gives at least a tangible hint that she is working on the next one. I know there was that one throw-away line in the pitchfork interview but something more than that.
  10. After listening to the album more than 25 times, I can finally put it in proper perspective in the context of her discography. Paradise > Born To Die > Ultraviolence > Honeymoon > Lust For Life > AKA > From The End/Young Like Me All the albums are wonderful and I love them all, but the amazing A-E-S-T-H-E-T-I-C she was serving at the start of her carreer is definitely gone.(Where are the allusions to wasted youth, honoring lost love and pale moonlight????? ) And that was kind of the best thing about her. We are left with amazing music anyway, it's just not as touching as TIWMUG or Radio or American and Gods and Monsters was.
  11. OMG this is exactly how I feel about Love All other songs are great but I just can't get into it, it's sad

    Get Free

You are right, it is similar. She was smart to use that, Fake Diamond is the hit that got away in her unreleased materal.

    Heroin

But if she overdosed a guy to the point that he died, wouldn't Lana be in jail by now? O.o
  14. She has a "little voice", apparently and Stevie told her to just own it
  15. Abel is the only one who actually adds something to his song. The rest of the collab songs would be better solo.
  16. Well it doesn't touch me in the slightest, idiot
  17. I know I just need super sad depressing songs to listen to and Lana always provided those. I'll need to look at other artists for that now.
  18. Yes. now that I think abut it, Heartcore was right. Once the lyrics sank in more, Tomorrow Never Came will be that song. It's not as instant as Terrence Loves You but it will do the job.
  19. In this interview it is revealed that she is aware that most people don't like this song Nostalgia can be really corny when it’s not done well, and you’re all about nostalgia. How do you try to get it right? I know I walk the line sometimes. [laughs] I saw comments that people said about my little “Coachella - Woodstock in my Mind” song. I write that title and I’m like, OK, I know I went there. But I think it’s amazing. It’s on the nose. It’s so on the nose. But sometimes things just are what they are. I’m at Coachella for three days, and North Korea is pointing a missile at us, and I’m watching Father John Misty with my best friend, who’s his wife—that’s all I’m literally saying. It’s just like, Yeah, I’m a hipster. I know it. Got it.
  20. The one thing that bothers me about this album is that it doesn't have an epic depressing real sad songs. Even honeymoon had Terrence Loves You, The Blackest Day and God Knows I Tried. There is no song on this album that can give me feels like those, none of them are even close to being depressing. It's a very different aesthetic
