  1. I think this is the original german source: http://www.kulturnews.de/knde/story.php?id=2944559&artist=Lana%20Del%20Rey I like this interview but it seems to me like it's somehow the same as the one Grazia published but with some changes. Some questions seem different but others are like completely the same and her answers too. I'm actually pretty sure that it was only one interview and maybe both magazines got the recording and translated it a bit differently and dropped some lines or whatever.
  2. Sorry for this stupid title didn't know how to call this. Further I don't know if this is the right place for this info but I just stumbled upon sth really really interesting. Some austrian sites (maybe other too) reported about an interview of Lana with 'Grazia' in which she revealed that she was a member of a sect! Quick translation of one of those articles: The singer allegedly used to be dominated by a Guru. Since he wanted to "break" his girls she left the sect. US-singer Lana Del Rey has a past in a sect behind her. "I used to be a member of an underground sect which was reigned by a guru. He surrounded himself with young girls," she told the magazine Grazia. She as well couldn't resist his "insane charisma". She was longing for "love and safety" in this group. But the guru turned out to be a bad person. "He thought that he had to break people first to build them up again. At the end I quit the sect." Her addiction to alcohol which she had as a teenager is over as well adds the 27 year old. "For ten years I haven't touched a drink - but I'd somehow really like to." Source This newspaper/website is usually quite reliable so...yeah. Thought? So "you're my cult leader" suddenly has a completely new meaning...
  3. Had the same thought. Ok we found out some interesting things like her 7-year relationship or her illness. They claimed that this was Lana's longest interview (or they say that Lana herself told them so) but if you cut out all the journalist's researched information what actually isn't what he found out at the interview there wouldn't be that much left. I'm pretty sure she was asked more questions than there are in that Cover story but if so why didn't they include them?
  4. "Lana has chosen to stay on the west coast to work on a music video for the title track 'Ultraviolence' until her ears have fully recovered." - sounds to me like it wasn't actually planned to shoot the vid or at least not now. seems more like some kind of a compromise solution imo
  5. I don't know what to think about it...I just don't know it's beautiful but....yeah
  6. Yippie! Couldn't witness the premier of West Coast but this time I'll participate in the mass meltdown!
  7. I'm still not completely sure what to expect from Ultraviolence. The songs off it that we've already heard are pretty cool but somehow...idk. None of them captivate me as much as most of her BTD songs. When I listened to some of the BTD tracks (when they still were "fresh" and I hadn't heard them to death) I was like in trance or sth, I wasn't able to do anything else than listening to the music because it required my whole perception. But when I listen to West Coast or SoC they seems like some kind of a background music and I almost get bored when I'm not doing anything else at the same time. I mean I enjoy listening to those songs but I kinda miss something I can't describe. Maybe it's the dramatic production with the orchestra and those "say/stay", "ooh" , cettle/cat whatever sounds that nobody seems to like (I actually do love them!) but otherwise some of her acoustic songs with just her voice and a guitar can fascinate me as much as the abovementioned BTD songs so Idk. Well, I'm just really excited to hear the whole album, hopefully there will be songs on it that give me that feel again.
  8. Really cool! Is this something official or did an over-motivated fan create this? Cause if it's official and they got the lyrics wrong... But these could also be the right lyrics. Lana uses to twear her lyrics at live performances so maybe. In any case I definitely prefer "filled with poison"
  9. I was hoping so badly that Lana would have been announced as the suprise headliner of the Donauinselfest in Vienna cause it takes place from June 27th to 29th and she would have been in Europe that time and I would have hopefully passed my last exams for this year and everything just would have been so perfect. But now they revealed that super weird panda guy Cro is the super cool and exclusive surprise act. Somehow it was very delusional from the beginning to think this shitty festival would get someone as famous as Lana to perform there. But I just wanted to see her so badly that I kinda already really believed it. sry for this completely irrelevant post, just had to let off steam
  10. Interesting interview although I think that I don't understand everything.
  11. I get the point of what you're saying. And everything could be possible. Ok...an open relationship could be possible (I recall Lana said she believes in free love) but idk. I actually don't have a problem with her singing about a past relationship but HOW she sings about it is really interesting for me. Lines like "we can (not could) go back to New York...." or "I love you forever, I really love you forever" just kinda indicate for me that it's more than a past relationship. But it could also be possible that UV is written from a past perspective or she just uses the feelings she had back then because her recent relationship is more "boring" or basically happy which doesn't fit the whole UV theme. Anyway I got into this a bit too much I think....over(l)analysing those lyrics that might also be more fantasy than real feelings.
  12. It's from the Tropico premiere. Not sure about it but I seem to recall that people there got cards or something with those words written on it.
  13. Yeah I know this interview but I take this with a little grain of salt. I mean we are pretty sure that she sings about other guys too, especially K. UV is obviously about Jim though but I just don't get how she can sing about him like that while she's in a relationship with Barrie and how he seemingly doesn't mind at all. And if she really loves Jimmy that much she could go back to him now or idk. I know that sounds pretty rude towards Barrie but if those UV lyrics are her true feelings I just don't get the whole situation. Inb4 Barrie is just her servant "soulmate" or whatever who brings her cigarettes when she's on stage and Jimmy is her true lover.
  14. Those lyrics "cold cash, divine, cashmere, cologne and white sunshine" remind me of 1949 or Every Man Gets His Wish. They even kinda rhyme with "We gonna party like it's 1949, We in the Pontiac/Chevrolet from July to July". Inb4 we'll get a UV version of those songs.
  15. Yeah, that's a pretty accurate illustration of my feelings...or it was. Because I just ordered it from another online shop called hhv. Haven't heard about it before but it seems legit (except the fact that they misspelled her name). With shipping fees and everything it costs 74€ for me now, a bit more than I actually wanted to spend on it but whatever. Now I just hope that it'll arrive in time!
  16. It really seems impossible to get that fucking box set or any deluxe edition featuring Flipside when you live in Austria (and don't want to pay shipping fees that are almost as high as the price of the box)! Nobody wants to take my money... Best troll so far (from Saturn): "Oh yes facebook says that the boxset is available for Austria too but we don't ship it to Austria." - Thanks. Fuck u.
  17. I used to believe and still think it's very likely that she sings about Jimmy Gnecco in her old songs like Hundred Dollar Bill, You're gonna love me and obviously Jimmy Gnecco (even though they might have never dated). She wasn't famous back then and she didn't expect that many people would hear them so there was no problem with using his name. But now that she's a real star it seems weird to me that she writes a song about him, especially a song like Ultraviolence. The fact that he is the opening act for her shows makes it even more unlikely for me. Idk...it's just really strange. I think it could be that she actually sang about Jimmy in her old songs and now she just likes the sound of the word "Jim" ~ sonically and she uses it as a synonym for all her lovers or just one of them or whatever. Anyways this relationship seems so weird. I hope someday it'll be revealed. (Note to all interviewers out there: ask her who the fuck Jim is! )
  18. I'm wondering about the same question. Like Seb says the vinyls that are sold singly don't feature those tracks but Saturn and Media Markt are claiming that the vinyl that comes with the box set contains the bonus tracks as well. I mean they could be wrong but idk. Somehow I doubt that there are actually differences between all the box sets even though it might seem like there are some. I think that even the shops that sell them don't know exactly what will be included. EDIT: But wait Saturn also says that the singly sold vinyl only includes 8 songs. What?
  19. I just was about to order my box set (at Saturn or Media Markt) and now it seems like they don't deliver to Austria, even though the facebook comment says that they do. ...and somehow fnac doesn't accept my paypal and is always asking for a credit card but I don't have one - great.
  20. I guess the box set on Saturn/Media Markt is the same like the one that is sold on the official ldr site, isn't it? It costs 5€ less on Saturn/MM so I'm just curious.
  21. OMG! Love it so so much! It's perfect! Still I don't get the whole Jim thing. Somehow I believe that she's singing about another Jim, not Jimmy Gnecco, I mean it is a pretty common name.
  22. I thank you too. I mean it's only the beginning of the interview but I'm glad you appreciate it though. The real work was done by lanasgirl and she did a really good job
  23. Wow, haven't seen them before. Where are they from? "Cause I'm a sad girl dancing on my own, Long way, far away from home" - those lines made me cringe for a moment. A few days ago I just wrote a song with the lyrics "I'm a lonely girl dancing on my own, so far away, I'm far away from home" wtf
