Was Lana actually appropriating Latin culture by wearing that shirt? Where I'm from, everyone wears their shirts like that and my country isn't dominated by Latin culture. If anything I thought it would make more sense to go for the way she overlined her lips...

No one is saying that though...did you read our posts or...? When we say we want her to be more controversial and unapologetic, we mean we just want her to not try so hard with people a critic pleaser and write about what she really wants to write about rather than censoring herself for the sake of others. NFR has good lyricism, but feels disingenuous at times. I do believe some of it was partly to finally win over the critics (which we know has been a battle for Lana since the very beginning). No one is expecting her to sing about Mr. Humbert while crying in a cheap motel with smeared mascara on her cheeks.

Honestly I think she's toned down her lyrics because she doesn't want to be berated online by fake woke people. I feel like that's literally the only reason for the lyricism in NFR. We know how much people love to cancel her, and I'm sure Lana herself knows this too. That's not to say NFR's lyrics are terrible, and some lines are very beautiful, but personally for me I just didn't really feel 'grasped' by a particular line like I have with her previous albums. I do feel like Lana wants to write about more controversial things that will surely shake the table but feels a certain restraint and so she bites her tongue instead, which is sad. Obviously no one knows 100%. But I do hope COCC has some lyrics that will have that lively spark of magic and wonder. I'm not looking for that cocaine princess persona with daddy issues, just something where I can say "wow...I want these lyrics tattooed on my forehead" type of thing.

I wasn't targeting you specifically, I don't remember coming across your post about her lips but I agree, this topic needs to disappear asap

Her poetry book is based purely on words, not her image or persona. Everyone who is buying her book are Lana stans, and we as stans have seen Lana at her best and her worst, so it doesn't matter how she looks when promoting poetry. The concept of poetry itself is raw, stripped down and real, much like Lana is presenting herself right now with her book. I'd love Lana to be the 60's beauty queen she was back in 2012, but I'm not going to put my wishes above hers. If she wants to present herself the way she does, then we must accept that.

Idk it's weird how some members here bash Lana for her fillers and then talk shit about members talking about her weight (which I don't agree with btw), but it's funny how some of ya'll turn

I knew the site was updating it's graphics for Violet Anyway, this aesthetic is absolutely beautiful. I love the glitter text (throwback to Glittergate ) Also it kinda reminds me of Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt mixed with East of Eden 1955 @@Elle Lana's site graphics would look so pretty on here. I know it's not COCC related but ahhh it's so pretty
