It must be pretty scary going out alone at night and having strange men waiting to take pics of you

I sometimes still can’t believe how anyone can publish anything.
Hmmm, we need more hits on our shitty site. What can we do? That singer, what’s her name, Lana Del Whatever, she’s big now, write something about her. She was what? Seen buying snacks late at night, you say? Do a write up on it! Mention how she probably had the munchies because she's on pot.
I think this article could have been rewritten as the following:
Nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing. Nothing nothing nothing, nothing nothing nothing. Nothing nothing nothing nothing, nothing. Nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing. Nothing, nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing. Nothing nothing nothing nothing, nothing nothing nothing. Nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing. Nothing nothing nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing nothing nothing nothing. Nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing. Nothing, nothing nothing nothing nothing Nothing nothing nothing. Nothing nothing nothing nothing.
But it’s okay because people will read it!
Oh man, but Diet Coke and Doritos?

and because she sings about dope, she must be on dope. just how she's a serial killer and she's the last girl on earth.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Video Games. It was the first Lana song I ever heard, and when I first heard it, I wasn't entirely sure what the appeal was. But listening to it on a more frequent basis, it has become one of my favourites. One thing I love about Lana is her idea of honouring lost love. I'm a huge believer in still caring for and respecting someone you loved who you aren't with anymore, and I feel like this song is the epitome of that. She turns the simplest of things (getting undressed, playing video games, etc) into this simple love melody. As well as all the big things in life, I like to remember details, no matter how mundane they are, and I think people forget how much happiness can be had from just simply sitting around all day playing video games with the person you love most in the world. To me, the simplicity sold it to me. It's quite a stripped song, compared to most others on BTD, but I love that. You can hear the haunting sadness at the same time as understanding her love for this person. I just feel a really strong connection with it, and of course, it was the gateway into my Lana Del Rey obsession.

omg i love this!!!! mine are:
- Lucky Ones / Off to the races from BTD: hearing lucky ones is like falling in love for the first time, seriously! I get so emotional with that song and I don't even know how to explain the feelings it gives me. The drums in the chorus are sooo wow and when she sings "everynow and then the stars align" I just cry. Off to the races is art, I mean that song is just my dream.
- Afraid / Boarding School from Unreleased: Aww afraid it makes me wanna leave, leave and get out of this shit! I just love the simplicity of that song and the way she sings it's flawless!! "But it's not love that keeps me here" . Boarding School... omg I just wanna get high! That song is drug, love the lyrics, love her voice, love everything about it.
- Mermaid Motel from AKA: this was one of the first song i've heard by Lana after Video games and Born to die and I was like "OMFG this is all i've been waiting for!!!!" I just love the vibe of this song, the instrumental is truly a masterpiece to me and I can't wait to hear the remastered version if that will happen!
- Bel Air from Paradise: since I hear the snippet I knew it was going to be my fave from paradise. Bel Air is the song that I wanna hear when I'll die, and I can't wait to hear it live on tour.
also: Radio (demo), Making Out, Summer Of Sam and Velvet Crowbar.

I always thought it was "Summer of my life". Thought it tied in nicely with Ride's "Winter of my life".

Platinum and vale acrylics
Skim the paper for the critics
Baby's breath and Elvis lyrics
On the copper bar
Late in motel lounges singin'
Spotlight on the band is swingin'
Chateau Marmont memories fading
Hope is very far
Elvis, where are you when I need you most?
White kind of sequin jumpsuit ghost
Pick me up and make a toast
Champagne in the air
Tipping back his head, relaxing
Thank you very much and I'm laughing
All my chantilly lace catchin'
Baby, on the chandelier
Sweeping scents and blue hydrangea
Summer hail and summer stranger
Baby, he's in constant danger
Help is very far
"You look like a Florida native
Are you?" I said, at the rate of
Slow molasses from the state of
Vermont with a Southern drawl
Elvis, where are you when I need you most?
White kind of sequin jumpsuit ghost
Pick me up and make a toast
Champagne in the air
Tipping back his head, relaxing
Thank you very much and I'm laughing
All my chantilly lace is catchin'
On the chandelier
He said he'd come to welcome, warn me
Just your diamond to adorn me
Come to be and see the one and only
For my final year
Well, thank you
Elvis, where are you when I need you most?
White kind of sequin jumpsuit ghost
Pick me up and make a toast
Champagne in the air
Tipping back his head, relaxing
Thank you very much and I'm laughing
All my chantilly lace is catchin'
On that chandelier
It's catchin' on that chandelier
It's catchin' on that chandelier
Where are you when I need you most?

Baby, you’re my Bugsy Malone
And I’m your suicide blonde
You can be my film noir star
I’m your queen of Saigon
If they don’t think we’re good together, baby just forget ‘em
And let bygones be bygones
Baby, I can’t go it alone
‘Cause you’re the one that I want
You can be my Tony Montana and I can be your Pfeiffer
Fire, I can take you higher
I can get you hooked on love and desire
Hello, pretty baby, you can be my cherry pie
I know what you’ve done and I can be your alibi
So tonight are you gonna be my soldier?
Are we gonna be Bonnie and Clyde?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
Are you gonna be my lover?
Are we gonna be true love suicide?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
I be murderin’-a-murderin’ ‘em just for fun
I be murderin’-a-murderin’ ‘em one-by-one
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
So tonight are you gonna be my soldier?
Are we gonna be Bonnie and Clyde?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
Baby, you Sylvester Stallone
And I could be your Adrian
With tender lips I got you in the ring again
Just say my name again
Say my name again, say my name again
Baby, I can’t do it alone
‘Cause you’re the one that I want
You can be my Tommy Mottola and I can be Mariah, tiger
Scream a little higher
I can get you high on love and desire
Not since Bonnie and Clyde was two kids so good at being bad-bad-bad
I’m flirting with the checkout counter, baby
Put the money in the bag
So tonight are you gonna be my soldier?
Are we gonna be Bonnie and Clyde?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
Are you gonna be my lover?
Are we gonna be true love suicide?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
I be murderin’-a-murderin’ ‘em just for fun
I be murderin’-a-murderin’ ‘em one-by-one
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
So tonight are you gonna be my soldier?
Are we gonna be Bonnie and Clyde?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
Would you kill for me?
Would you die for me?
Put your hands where I can see them
Put them in the air
So tonight are you gonna be my soldier?
Are we gonna be Bonnie and Clyde?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
Are you gonna be my lover?
Are we gonna be true love suicide?
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die
I be murderin’-a-murderin’ ‘em just for fun
I be murderin’-a-murderin’ ‘em one-by-one
It’s either live or die, boy
It’s either live or die

How has this not had any comments? - Amazing song..
Is it really?

Oh Lana, as clear as ever.

Pawn Shop Blues: This song invokes many emotions in me. I can't directly relate to the song, but the rawness of it really makes me feel so light headed in the most positive way ever. I can almost imagine a movie just based on the whole song itself, plus, the minimal production on the song makes it seem really vulnerable and sensitive - something that I feel gets overpowered by the soaring strings on most songs off of Born To Die and Paradise.
Honorable mentions because of the feels:
Never Let Me Go, Lucky Ones, On Our Way

Because Pepsi is what her pussy tastes like, duh
She stutters other words in the verse too, so why not P-P-Pepsi? It makes more sense to me that it'd be stuttered to go with L-l-let's & f-food.

So hard to choose but..
Off To The Races/National Anthem - for me the best of BTD. So original, so badass and I fell in love with Lana as soon as I heard OTTR but NA cemented it.
Pawn Shop Blues - amazing song. I could listen to it all day. The lyrics, the song, the melody, the guitar..all of it..perfect.
Agreed.
Kill Kill - again another song i could listen to all day. Her voice in it is perfect. I love how she can change her voice like that, depending on the mood of the song.
I love how you explained that. I adore the song.
Mermaid Motel - okay at first I admit, I wasn't really into this song. But then I had a breakthrough and I now adore it! The sound effects and the lyrics and the sensuality of it. Uh so good.
& Go-Go Dancer - judging on my username. A good beat and the sass "I never have to work 'cause my daddy is rich"
Honourable Mentions: Yayo, Cola, Hollywood's Dead, Driving in Cars with Boys, Elvis
