I agree with you, a lot. I think we could afford to have more LGBT representation in music, but that doesn't mean basing your whole musical identity around your sexuality just so people can latch onto it. I actually think Sam Smith is a good example of this, he's gay and we know it, but his persona and marketing don't scream "EDGY TOKEN GAY!!!!!" He just makes love songs he can relate to and others tend to follow. As a bisexual I really don't like this trend of becoming known for your sexuality, it defeats the point. This artist is just ripping off Tumblr aesthetics, nothing new or groundbreaking about it. Crush is uninspired and that homemade music video is embarrassing. When she starts putting out quality content then she will be worthy of attention, relying on her status as an LGBT woman is not.

I was hoping Bang Bang would be truer to the Nancy Sinatra version, this version is just kinda meh and loses all the feeling of the earlier versions. That's a shame bc I thought her voice would really go well with a slower, moodier type of production

It isn't unusual for the economy to grow. It's doing that constantly. They are doing well right now but that's due to the normal ebb and flow of the economy. He hasn't enacted any policies that would be creating that difference. And yes I do believe he could become president if he was stupid, because I watch his interviews. Born To Die had Lana's first boom in the media, suddenly she was everywhere with thinkpieces being written by the minute about her. We had plenty of interviews like the the iconic and cute NME and Vogue ones, plenty of gorgeous photoshoots, she was looking absolutely gorgeous and was dressing amazingly (the best she's looked IMO), the beautiful videos for BTD and NA, basically began to revolutionize the aesthetic of tumblr, she was a whirlwind of mystery and controversy and it was fun to be a Lana fan in that era.
