I think it's just one of the many facets of Lana Del Rey. You see the cutesy, fun side when she's on stage/ with her fans~ and I think that's genuine, I don't think you can really fake that.  And then sometimes, with the press, she comes off as cold and aloof. I think she was a girl who is so used to being liked or accepted and wasn't prepared for criticism.  She's sweet to the people that she knows love her already, and wary or perhaps even snotty to interviewers. (You may recall the Oyster mag interview where she continuously asks the interviewer if they like her music or not and then Fearne interviews- she is always kind because she knows Fearne is a fan) I mean, when you think back to her Lizzy Grant interviews, I believe all of them garnered praise, none of them were really negative.  It's like someone needs to tell her that not everyone is going to like you, and that's okay.  I also think she tries to give the appearance that she doesn't care what people think but that couldn't be further from the truth. (After all, we all do to some extent)  I wanna be the whole world's girl may be her most narrative lyric in LDR existence, imo. She wants everyone to like her, and because she got so much criticism after SNL from her home country, she's kind of turned her nose up at America.. as if it is impossible for us to comprehend her deeply philosophical lyrics,~pepsi cola pussy- that's ayn rand, right?? Criticism is a part of life, I agree it was in excess following SNL, but as I've said before, the press has moved on and so should she. I mean, Y&B even charted higher in the US!

I'm wondering if she dislikes these interviews so much she just acts out and gets defensive, saying shitty things she doesn't mean?.. like she feels cornered..? Who knows. *grasping at straws*

There were some really interesting answers through all... that. But at some point it was an annoying mix of pretentiousness and endless justifications that she doesn't have to give really. I don't know why she gets like that in some interviews, does she dislike the journalist, is she having a bad day, I can't tell.

"I never met anyone who cared about music as deeply as me and my boyfriend, or who really cared about poetry—who really lived it and breathed it. I haven’t met anyone so far. I just can’t affiliate with those people."

This woman worked with Rick Rubin... Even if it was for six days... Her interviews are getting worse and that's what this one is screaming to me:

it's things like what you quoted that gave me a reason to stop reading her interviews & stuff in general a while ago. idk why i even decided to read this interview but it annoyed me, i just couldn't find the good in it. she seemed very negative and condescending toward a lot of things - especially america... will try and always remember her as the girl who sings a-m-e-r-i-c-a all i wanna do is play

It's truly amazing she's even able to sing or give an interview with that gigantic chip on her shoulder.

remember when Ride came out and on pretty much every lyric site it said "I look up to hear myself saying, baby, too much strive, I just ride"

in diet mountain dew I was convinced she was singing "baby stopping at ~some posh french name~ (something like shumura l'evin), baring his work in new york, heaven" and I had this image of her and her painter-boyfriend driving to an art exhibition were he was showing his paintings

which fit with what I misheard in Blue Jeans which was "love you more, than those pictures before" because she was like "I don't love you because you're an artist, I love you because you're you~". For such a long time I thought all her songs was about a boyfriend who was a failed painter ("well shit at least you tried") who turned to selling drugs

So if someone wants to delete this it's fine, I just wanted to tell my tour experience, show you guys the photos and tell how things were here. My intention is not to get anyone upset or anything and I'm sorry if someone will be. I'm also sorry if my English is not perfect, it's not my strongest language hope you still get my point. This is really long so my apologies about that

So we got in the venue around 6 AM in the morning, there was 7 people before me and my two friends. We got numbers (there was this number system that got to be chaos later, let me explain) 8, 9 and 10. I was number 9. We were so happy about it. We had only slept for an hour but we were so happy, just repeating 'we will get to the front row' to each other. Then we sat down to wait about 15 hours. Weather was nice then, it wasn't warm but it wasn't cold neither. People started to arrive and get numbers and scatter around the venue. We thought it was okay if people were closer the doors than we were because we had the key to everything: numbers. People were nice and we could leave the venue to walk around because of the number system.

Then about 1 PM 2 attendants (is that a right word ) came and people started to run. My friend asked me 'Should we go or what' and I just said 'Yes' packed our stuff and ran there. I saw that person who was there first talking to those two attendants with couple others that were before us. We went closer thinking what is going on here. When they explained them the number system the attendants looked at each other and laughed. Then they said 'It's not our problem'. That's when I got super nervous and started to get worried. People that got there half an hour ago were way before us. Then they finally made a proper fence lines (that weren't there at 6 AM) and it started to rain. It was terrible because we didn't have umbrellas, literally nothing. Our clothes were wet and then it started to get ice cold windy. We watched how those two attendants were inside looking at us, laughing in their warm clothes. We asked is there anything, a shed, something we could go. No, we had to wait till 18.30 PM I can honestly say those were my short, 16 year old lifes most terrible 5 and half hours. I couldn't take it. It was hard to accept that we weren't making it to the front row but the rain, wet clothes and I was shaking.

Time moved so, so slow. We tried to listen Paradise edition but it just didn't make the clock move faster. One girl asked the attendants 'Can we use the bathroom, in every consert that I've been they have open the bathroom's, what about tonight?' and the attendant laughed a bit and said 'Not tonight'. I was fine but some people were not. We couldn't leave anywhere because there wasn't any number system anymore. Another girl asked 'I know many people asked this but why didn't the number system work?' and they just said it's not their problem. I was in Gaga's show last year and there was a number system too that worked perfectly, I wasn't suspicious at all, I thought they knew about it and I was furious because they just laughed. Then it just was too much to me, I was too stressed. The rain, being so cold and the fact we were far away from the doors. It was too much to me so yes, I started to cry. I tried to stop but I couldn't. I hided my face so the others wouldn't think I'm ridicilous and started to shake even more. I didn't want to give up, I just said to myself I have to stand there.

About 4 PM the attendants came to us asking 'Do you have the number's' and we were like 'Yes, yes!!' hoping something good was about to happen. Then they asked us to move to other line and we just got more far away and I couldn't believe it. We were even more far away. They started to make a new line and I asked my friend 'What are they doing' and she just said watching at them 'I hope finally something smart'. Then they said to us that the first one's get to be in that line   happiness overload I repeated. We got there (There was about 20-25 people) and they build a fence around us so no one else would sneak out there. We were so happy in that moment I can't even explain, it was still 3 hours to go but it didn't matter. Rain stopped but wind was still terrible, it was ice cold. We dreamed about sauna and junk food in that moment since be hadn't ate that much that day.

When I looked at other people they looked like they would like to kill me. I said 'this is so wrong and I hate it but I feel satisfaction when I see this view'. We were like a VIP - line, peple asked why we were there and just ugh, I felt bad and good at the same time We got inside before other's (just a little but still) and I couldn't run, I tried to but I couldn't feel my legs or my arms. Then there was a line again and people behind us started to run (I don't know what was the point? My friend was already there and we said that we wouldn't run or push anyone and we knew who was which number) so I had to run Immediately someone said 'Don't run!' and I slowed down. We lined there half an hour but it was inside and it was warm, slowly I started to feel my legs again. After half an hour they opened the door and people started to run downstairs. We saw the stage already and I walked fast because they told us not to run but the girls behing us ran and took our spot at the middle We got to be in the front row anyway, it was unbelievable. I had made a book to her and it included an elephant and heart - shaped necklace. In the ribbon I had wrote 'HAPPY B-DAY' and I hoped I could give it to her. My hands were pretty much full: KISS ME HARD BEFORE YOU GO? - shield and a poster (that was wet because the rain went into my bag also), a marker and my camera.

We waited about an hour and then the opening act came, he was Kari Tapiiri. Hadn't heard about him before, but Lana had picked him. He is Finnish too. He played guitar and sang. Unfortunately many people said that he sucked out loud, complained that they were falling asleep I was embarrased about it. Why? It was only half an hour, he was ok and Lana picked him. And even if someone didn't like him, why did they have to say it out loud and booed to him? Come on.
Then finally, after everything Lana came. People started to scream like crazy and I cried (all the time. I couldn't believe the person I've seen in pictures, listened to her music for so long, she was next to me. Unreal it was) and we sang so loud Lana had to say 'Turn that down and turn me up' or something like that. She couldn't hear her voice. I've been in many concert's but I've never seen or heard that kind of thing. I was proud to be Finnish, I was! She said that 'This is our last show and I can't think a better place to end it than here' and 'Your energy is amazing'. She also said 'Hope to see you again soon' I've seen video's about her taking photo's with the crowd and so on but she seemed more confined. There was this man that knew when she was coming down and stopped her almost. I loved, loved every song and I hoped that it could've last forever. She was so beautiful. When she came down again I took my book and tried to get her notice it. Girl beside me said 'She's got to have that' and when she started to get back I reached out my hand and people started to push me like crazy getting their hands as close as they could. She noticed me, she had to evade the hands that she could get to me. My heart beated fast, teardrops on my face, looking at her like then she gave me this cutest smile ever and said 'thank you' and I started shaking and crying. Then she moved on and I was like 'She got it. She got it. She got it'. I couldn't believe that. That moment was one of the happiest moments of my life. I even touched her (silken, I promise it was like silk) hand that was so soft and her amazing dress. I touched it too! Oh my god my heart is beating fast when I write this. In National Anthem she came again but went the other way. She came to us also but said only 'Hi, thanks for coming'. It was okay, but she had signed and took photos with the others

But she got my book! She sang so good I swear like an angel. When she left offstage the band kept playing, Byron Thomas came played and smiling and Blake played the guitar and I was feeling amazing and sad at the same time. I heard someone made a shield that said 'Can you meet me after the show?' and she said 'I try'. She was busy and left but she left a few things signed to her like that special edition that costs so much and a book (I don't know what book, lyric book?). We were really tired and went to buy merchandise. I bought a signed litograph that was 80 euros, it is 18/200. Then I bought a couple other things too. Thank you so much Lana for the best night of my life and I hope you'll be back, miss you already! I would stand another 15 hours in pouring rain to be there again. After the show Finnish magazines claim that the screaming came from a recored tape and the singing too. They say that we spelled the words too good and too loud and it was like Justin Bieber's concert and 'it couldn't be so'. Also they claimed that Lana sang from a tape but oh well, we know what's real and what's not. She got a platium record here for Born To Die and design clothes made for her. I just hope she got my book and will read it! I hope she didn't forget it onstage... It's a blue book if you see it in any videos/photos, I'm so nervous about it! Right now I just enjoy warm bed and green tea, water and photos. I'm still so tired. Hope you enjoy the photos!

Canal+ website don't have the replay of the show so I did some google research but their show's name is so f*cking random... I've found interviews of the others artist but not of Lana FML. I'll try to look if someone recorded the whole thing on french torrents site. I guess she didn't say a lot of relevant things otherwise it'll still be online somewhere or we would have articles that talk about it. Anyway, my research ended on this "live" video of Kinda Outta Luck which is pretty cool lol :

    SO,
I got tickets in April, so I could not wait to see her. At the beginning, tickets weren't selling very good, but in the end I think it was sold-out.

    June 13

On the day before the concert, when she arrived in Latvia, we (me&my friends)saw her in a car on the way to the hotel.
That got us soo excited for the next day.

We arrived at the venue (Arena Riga) at 12pm. The weather was REALLY bad. It was raining and it was freezing cold.
So we waited for 7 hours in the line and the doors opened at 7pm. I was the first one who got in the arena. BUT, now the stupidest part - we were let into the arena but not in the hall. We (300-400 people) stood in a small circle so we couldn't even move and everyone was pushing AND singing LADY GAGA. Ok, I'm a huge fan of Gaga, but come on this Lana's concert. So we waited like that for like FVCKING 40 minutes. At last, we were let in the hall at 7:40pm. I ran and got in the front row slightly to the left side of the stage. Then the opening act came on stage. IIRIS. She was sooooo boring for an opening act but thank God she played for only 25 minutes. AND THEN, after a 15-minute pause. THE SHOW STARTED. THE KWEEN. She looked sooooo beautiful. :defeated:

Uhh she's been on tour since the start of the year so how could've she already finished the album? Besides that the Paradise ep was released just 8 months ago so there's no need to release a new album so quickly.
I don't see the point in releasing Summertime Sadness in the US either but the video(s) for Bel Air/G&M/Body Electric seem more like a personal project than something to promote Paradise so what's the problem? It's not like she's a pop artist struggling to get noticed releasing new stuff every month

    YOU WANT TOO MUCH

  24. Cinnamon Girl liked a post in a topic by FirstSpider in (Shades Of Cool) The Automobiles Of Lana Del Rey
I'm absolutely obsessed with cars, they're my passion. This thread is to catalogue the cars Lana mentions or uses in songs and videos.

    Cars in songs:

Shades Of Cool - "He Lives In California Too, He Drives A Chevy Malibu"
Lana's referring to the bread and butter midsize sedan, the backbone of the Chevy lineup

You Can Be The Boss - "He has a white corvette like I wanted"
My guess is that the car she is referring to is an Olympic White Corvette, probably a C1, C2 or C3

Hundred Dollar Bill - "Jimmy pulls up in his blue Chevy Nova"
The Blue she is referring to is most likely Danube Blue, or Mist Blue. Probably the 2nd Generation model as it's the most collectible.

National Anthem - "Take me to the Hamptons, Bugatti Veyron"
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know she is definitely talking about the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4. there have been quite a few different special editions made.

Back To The Basics - "Sit Back In My Pink Cadillac"
I'm assuming the Pink Cadillac would be a reference to Elvis's car which was a 1955 Fleetwood Series 60.

This Is What Makes Us Girls - "Stealin' Police cars with the senior guys"
When Lana was 16 three police interceptors would have been common, the Dodge Intrepid, The Chevrolet Impala, and The Ford Crown Victoria

Golden Grille - "Drivin' in your Escalade"
We all probably know the behemoth Cadillac SUV piloted by rappers, drug dealers and soccer moms everywhere, It's been through 3 generations now. Golden Grille was from 2009 and by then it had entered it's 3rd iteration but as the song is obviously written about an earlier time, and the Escalade in production today was released in 2007, It's very likely a second gen model she's singing about. The first gen was largely playing catch up to the Lincoln Navigator and didn't get to enjoy the sales of it's successors as it was only built for 2 years.

    Jump - "Cadillac convertible"
    Eldorado? DeVille? Allante? XLR? Series 62? it's anyone's guess. It's very likely that it's a 1959 Series 62.

On Our Way - "Kiss me in your Chevrolet"
Another mystery car, It's clearly a convertible as well. Corvette? Nova? Corvair? Bel Air? Impala? Camaro? Blazer? Caprice? There are quite a few possibilities, I like to think it's a Corvair.

White Pontiac Heaven / Axel Rose Husband - Well, she says it in the title...
Again, this could be pretty much any white Pontiac. She does seem especially fond of the Fiero though.

1949 - "We in the Pontiac from July to July"
Same story as WPH and ARH it really could be any pontiac.

Every Man Gets His Wish- "We in the Chevrolet from July to July"
Just like 1949, WPH, and ARH it really could be any Chevrolet.

Driving In Cars With Boys - "Momma's Mercedes or Billy's Pickup Truck"
Who knows what kind of truck she's referring to. Anyone know if her mother drove a Mercedes?

Heavy Hitter - "Open up that Lamborghini"
Once again, this could be any number of Lambos, the Miura, Gallardo, Espada, Countach, Murcielago etc.

Hit & Run - "Pick me up in your white Lamborghini"
Just like HH there are quite a few possibilities for this one

Playing Dangerous - "Let's get in the back of your cop car officer"
Well she doesn't even give us an era for this one, there's no way of knowing what kind of PPV she's talking about.

Come When You Call Me - "White Lincoln Continental"
The Continental nameplate has been used by Ford for their Lincoln brand for 9 generations before it was cancelled, it could be any of these, but I think it's worth noting that she used a white Mark V Continental in the new music video (see photos below)

Hawaiian Tropic - "A bottle of Jack in the Cadillac" "White Corvette under willow trees"
This is the only time she mentions the Cadillac in this song so we have nothing to go on as far as the exact model. It could really be any Cadillac prior to the 2009 Model Year.
The Corvette she mentions is most likely the same one she refers to in You Can Be The Boss

Heartshaped Chevrolet - "kiss me in your Chevrolet"
As the Chevrolet line is the same as in On Our Way it's pretty obvious that the chevrolet she's referring to is the same Chevy Convertible

Hot Hot Hot - "Black tint glass on your cherry red car"
Who knows? It could really be any red car...

Big Bad Wolf - "Escaping in your cherry red car"
    Same as above.

*I have recieved a tip that one of the aforementioned Chevrolets is from the 1967 Model Year*

    Cars In Music Videos:

Born To Die - It appears to be a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that the couple crashes.

Summertime Sadness - Lana's own 1981 Mercedes-Benz SL is used.

Ride - A 1975 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is driven by the guy who picks her up.

(The car in the Photo is a Sedan DeVille, Just Imagine it without the rear doors)

National Anthem - A 1956 Ford Thunderbird and a 1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible are used, similar to the ones owned by the Kennedy family, as well as a 1950-53 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible.

Blue Jeans (Original) - There is a clip of what appears to be the bonnet of a Jaguar XK 140

Lana Is also shown in a truck in this video. It's a 1955 Chevrolet Apache/Task Force. the grill, bumper and headlight bezels have been painted white. the same truck can be seen in at least one other photo shoot. This particular truck can also be seen on the cover of Born To Die

    Burning Desire - Obviously a Jaguar F-Type

Several AKA Era Videos -  I have noticed more than one Pontiac Fiero in the original Lizzy Grant clips that have leaked. Clearly Lana has a thing for this car.

Diet Mtn Dew 2 - The Ford Del Rey is used. This is where she got the Del Rey script with the three circles. Don't run to the dealer lots just yet, the Del Rey was only available in South America.

Tropico - Lana is seen in a Spring Green, fender-skirted 1952 Chevrolet Bel Air Rat Rod (Potential clue to the song?). In typical rat rod fashion, the car is missing most of its stainless and chrome trim as well as the actual convertible top and frame. the Chrome grill has been painted and the car features a continental kit. She is also seen with a white Lincoln Mark V.

Shades Of Cool - You'd expect Lana to use a Chevy Malibu, since it's what she ints about in the song, but instead her tattoo artist friend pilots a 1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible.

At one point a 2006 SAAB 9-5 SportCombi makes a came appearance over Lana's shoulder. It's given away by the SAAB signature hockey stick shaped C Pillar and the tiered tail lights

    Cars Lana Owns:

    1981 Mercedes Benz 380SL
As seen in the Summertime Sadness video, Lana has a gold SL class

    Jaguar XK
Lana did the whole horse and pony show on the hood of Jaguar's new little roadster, the F-Type, but she actually owns it's big brother the XK. The XK is considerably larger and more powerful than the F-Type, they actually share the same platform though (The F-Type's was shortened). Lana's XK is in Ultimate Black Metallic.

    Jaguar XJ
This one is important for those of us who don't like in California because the XJ is Lana's preferred mode of transportation. No doubt she owns her own and is seen driving it frequently (All I could find of her driving it were interior shots), but in other places she is almost always driven in one, so If you're at one of her shows and you see an XJ pull up, chances are it's her. Rob Grant also owns one as well. It's Jaguar's full size flagship. Lana appears to have the SWB model. Here's the best photo I was able to find on short notice of Lana with an XJ. You can identify it by its signature teardrop shaped DLO and the Alutian alloy wheels.

I'm sure I missed some, let me know if you have any more information to add or if you know the ones I missed.
We're still waiting to see what new leaks will bring to the table, I guess only time will tell.
