  2. Is there a thread where we rank every single Lana song? I'm trying to find one, and can't, and if there is one, don't want to make another.
  3. Some people generalize and thank that because a group of people like something, and then another group likes something else, that there's nobody else criticizing it and - thus - "some worship everything she does".
  4. I definitely understand feeling that way at this point, but I'm a basic bitch who really gets moved by piano ballads tho. lol VB was ballsy releasing so soon.
  5. I promise you and everybody else feeling this way. Two piano ballads out of 11 (or possibly even more) tracks on an album =/= something to get upset over. VB, HTD, Cinnamon, and MAC are all on the album and aren't strictly piano.
  6. The kbps doesn't matter when the equipment is structured to not compress many of the track elements, so yes, they definitely aren't pretending and are right.
  7. Doing this changed my life tbh Now I understand audio snobs.
  8. This. HIADT sounded much more vibrant when it was released for streaming compared to what we'd heard. (Also, that makes me stoked for Cinnamon because jesus, that sounded lovely in lower quality.)
  9. I've also been kind of weirded out by the criticism of her vocals. This is the purest she's been on a studio record to this extent.
  10. EDIT: bolded the words I added because I wasn't specific We know Cinnamon has a banger production. We know HTD only sounded like a piano ballad performed at the Apple event, but has a more extensive production as heard in her Insta story. MAC and VB on the album with their rock-tinged vibes. Cinnamon + HTD with some hip-hop/bop elements. HIADT and HIAB with their low-key ballads. That's only half of an album heard, sweeties. It's possible that this can all fall into place as something with a very dynamic soundscape across the record, with a cohesiveness found in Lana's lyricism and vocal emoting. I don't know why everybody thinks this is going to be an album full of piano ballads.
  11. PSB really is one of her best songs. I actually have issue listening to any remixes of Lana's songs. I know that makes me prude and elitist or something, but I'm just not a remix person whatsoever, let alone on the stuff she worked on.
  12. 6/10. I prefer a lot of the other tracks I've heard from him, but I definitely love the experimentation of the production. I just discovered this album. Had no idea she even put one out. She was 16 when this came out, she wrote and co-produced it, too. It's worth checking out. Called The Divine Comedy.
  13. The truth. The absolute fucking truth. Do you smell the coffee? Are people waking up to her being one of the best contemporary songwriters we have? Yes. Finally. And it's funny that it's come up that she writes as someone "old beyond her years", since my granny (who finds her music too sad lol) said that her music was "wise" and that Lana's an "old soul", and that made me feel like I have the best granny ever.
  14. Welp. I'll add this one today. The single cover for HIADT is contextually fitting for the song it's released for. Simple, unique, and evocative of Lana's style.
  15. The issue is that you're assuming many of us haven't criticized other things Lana has done before. Just because there are defenders of this track, its cover, and the title doesn't mean that we're not with different feelings elsewhere in her work.
